DPM Chapter 20-Wedding Night (1) Part 1
Translated by Snowfall77

Ouyang Liu clumsily got up from the ground, craving to spew words back at Mozun, but Mozun kept regarding him with utter contempt. Wisely, for once Ouyang Liu sealed his mouth shut.

He picked up his clothes, haphazardly donning them, then turned and ran.

Mozun stood there motionless, watching Ouyang Liu’s fleeing back, a cold smile rising on his lips.

Ouyang Liu racing away who knew the hell where, while Mozun didn’t budge, both spiked Wu Xingyun’s anxiety. Because Mozun wasn’t moving, Wu Xingyun dare not move either. He was now physically closer to Mozun. If Wu Xingyun breathed too hard, he risked being discovered. He could only maintain his position, lying in the grass, praying that Mozun would leave sooner than later.

Yet like a stone statue, Mozun remained where he was.

Wu Xingyun could only do the same, not even daring to send a message to his companions. With Mozun’s sensitivity, he might detect the alternating currents streaking across the sky.

Long moments passed, until finally Mozun turned, slowly walking back towards his city.

Releasing an inward sigh of relief, Wu Xingyun waited for Mozun to be a hundred meters away. Only then did Wu Xingyun carefully made his way to where Ouyang Liu had been standing.

When five hundred meters stretched between Wu Xingyun and Mozun, Wu Xingyun started madly running. He had to find Ouyang Liu straightaway. They couldn’t afford to let him slip away.

Endless tall grass hid Ouyang Liu’s tracks. He’d already left for a long time, and Wu Xingyun couldn’t find his traces. Wu Xingyun activated his booster, soaring mid-air, using his scanner to search for the traitor.

After a long flight, Wu Xingyun found something.

A spaceship about two kilometers in front of him.

It was indeed the ship Mozun had given as a wedding present. The escort team’s ride back to the Federation.

The ship was emitting a deafening roar, which meant Ouyang Liu had already entered the ship and was preparing to depart.

Wu Xingyun couldn’t let that happen. He informed the rest of the team, sending them Ouyang Liu’s coordinates, as he continued speeding towards the ship. Unexpectedly, when he was halfway there, a blue beam from the ship pierced out, streaming towards Wu Xingyun.

Dodging sideway, Wu Xingyun avoided it, only to have a denser beam rush at him again. Clearly, Ouyang Liu had detected Wu Xingyun and opened fire.

The laser beam swept along Wu Xingyun’s side, carving a deep gully into the ground. So the ship was equipped with scanners specifically for Ghost soldiers, rendering Wu Xingyun’s invisibility useless.

Next, Ouyang Liu’s voice streamed into Wu Xingyun’s headphones. Since the ship had various Federation equipment, it was simple enough for Ouyang Liu to talk to Wu Xingyun.

“Get out of here!” Ouyang Liu’s screechy voice was flooded with malice and madness, “Fuck off! If you try to stop me, I’ll kill you!”

As he shouted, he frantically pressed buttons, shooting hundreds of particle guns at Wu Xingyun simultaneously.

Wu Xingyun rolled into the ditch, a hundred meters long and ten meters deep, the scorched grass sending up spires of black smoke.

Ouyang Liu laughed like a lunatic: “All of you want me to die, now you’re going to die! I’ll go back to the Federation and tell everyone! I’ll tell them you betrayed the Federation. You collaborated with the Night Shard! Just you wait. I’ll send you to hell!”

Adjusting his headphones, Wu Xingyun reverted to detachment mode. His voice calm, Wu Xingyun suffered no hesitation. “Captain Ouyang Liu, surrender and your life will be spared.”

Growling and cursing, Ouyang Liu responded: “Hah! What the fuck are you? Think you’ve got the qualifications to order me?! You forced to me to be hypnotized, just so your stupid marriage would go smoother. Despicable scum!”

Creeping through the grass, Wu Xingyun saw on his scanner that the other team member were getting close. He sternly warned Ouyang Liu again. “Drop your weapons and you’ll won’t be killed.”

Ouyang Liu’s tone became higher-pitched. “I’ve loved Master Mozun since I was little. I’ve loved him that long. Why did you take him away from me? You’ve destroyed it all. At the beginning, it was supposed to be me! I’m the one he gets along with! And then you came along and snatched everything!!”

Wu Xingyun said dispassionately: “Third warning. Put down your weapons, surrender, and your life will be spared.”

Full of hapless rage, Ouyang Liu couldn’t forget the disgusted look in Mozun’s eyes. He remembered all the stories of Mozun from his childhood, all his fantasies. And this was how it ended. He’d betrayed the Federation. Wu Xingyun had the details to use against him. Worst of all, Mozun hadn’t accepted Ouyang Liu. Hadn’t even wanted him.

A crazy idea occurred Ouyang Liu. Setting the ship guns to automatic, he raced to the ship’s data storage. Dragging out the safe containing the records of his treason, Ouyang Liu’s face twisted.

“This person. You say I’m treasonous. You say I betrayed the Federation. As long as he’s destroyed, none of this will exist!”

After lugging the safe to the launch chamber, Ouyang Liu returned to the cockpit, starting the ship.

The ship shook as it rose. Ouyang Liu’s plan was clear. He get to outer space, eject the safe, shoot it with a particle gun, thus obliterating all the evidence.

When he got back to the Federation, with the help of his father Ouyang Feng, he’d turn wrong to right.

Since Mozun had abandoned him, he’d have to choose the Federation.

Thinking that, Ouyang Liu leaned close to the porthole, wanting to find out if Wu Xingyun had been burnt to ashes yet under the ship’s barrage.

To his surprise, he instead saw Wu Xingyun’s outline with his naked eyes alone.

He couldn’t actually see Wu Xingyun, he could only detect the distortions of light and air, the imprint of a Ghost solider passing by.
Wu Xingyun’s icy voice, young but unyielding, sounded: “Captain Ouyang Liu, stop your assault! Leave the spacecraft and put your hands up. Otherwise, we will attack.”

Ouyang Liu screamed: “Go to hell!”

He changed the guns back to manual, aimed a muzzle, sending a shot at where the air had warped.

No, he hadn’t hit the mark. Ouyang Liu fired once more, missing again.

Giving Ouyang Liu one final chance, Wu Xingyun reiterated for the last time: “Drop the weapons, otherwise we will kill you.”

Ouyang Liu giggled hysterically. His current position was excellently hidden, and he was in the spaceship where no one could get at him.

“Want to kill me? Drop dead, fucker!”

Bang!

Not too loud of a sound, as a visible vortex formed in the air outside, zooming towards the ship window.

Crack. The alloy glass shattered.

The finger-sized vortex hit Ouyang Liu’s temple dead on.

Ouyang Liu still had a crazed smile cracking his face, his eyes disbelieving. He stared at the light distorting before him. Something was moving. Than that figure appeared out of thin air.

A Ghost solider, heavily armed.

Dressed in a gray combat suit, with the cold steel helmet revealing Wu Xingyun’s face.

He was holding a gun, the pitch-dark muzzle still pointing at its target.

Ouyang Liu wanted to perceive the Ghost soldier clearly. He wished he could have seen what the Ghost soldier’s expression had been, when he’d been killing Ouyang Liu. But all Ouyang Liu could discern was that unforgiving helmet.

Falling to the ground, Ouyang Liu lay quiet as blood flowed like a river from his wound, quickly spreading across the floor.
