DPM Chapter 25-New Tasks Part 1
Translated by Snowfall77

“Don’t push me away. I said I won’t force you……I just want to embrace for a while……”

Wu Xingyun, who’d clenched his fist to strike the enemy, hesitated for a moment, finally withdrawing his hand.

He didn’t move, letting Mozun tightly hold him down, arms encircling.

Mozun’s eyes were fixed on Wu Xingyun, his body motionless, but his breathing gradually grew a little heavy.

Then Wu Xingyun felt something hard and erect pressing into him.

Mozun dipped his head, wanting to kiss the person so close at hand, but stopped mid-way.

For his part, Wu Xingyun had no idea how to deal with the situation, not even knowing if this type of thing would keep happening more and more. He’d come to Yuanxing to be married, not fall in love.

He could tolerate having sex, but the ambiguous atmosphere was difficult to accept.

Maybe after the signal station was constructed, Wu Xingyun could report to a superior and just follow their instructions. Wu Xingyun consoled himself with that thought.

“Are you distracted?” Mozun sounded dissatisfied, forcibly moving his hands, lifting the waist of the person under him. “Perhaps, I should do something else, keep your mind from wandering……” As Mozun spoke, his voice was low, traces of lust in his eyes, and Wu Xingyun felt the thing pressed against him harden again.

Wu Xingyun lamented to himself. Sure enough, he’d known this would happen. It’d been expected, after all that’s why he’d had training beforehand. He’d just close his eyes and endure.

Lowering his eyelids, Wu Xingyun had the expression of one who’d resigned himself to death.

He waited for a long time for the other side’s next action, only to hear Mozun sigh and ask: “If you don’t like it, why don’t you reject me?”

Wu Xingyun didn’t speak. Even if he had been capable of being articulate, he was well aware that some words shouldn’t be said.

Mozun slowly loosened his hold on Wu Xingyun’s body. Wu Xingyun rolled off the bed in a single movement, going to stand in the corner, watching Mozun vigilantly from there.

“I’m sorry,” said Mozun.

“It’s nothing, I’m……I’m fine……I’m not used to it, it’ll be better in the future……”

There were things Mozun wanted to express, yet they stayed blocked in his chest.

He wanted to say that he shouldn’t have forgotten that he’d said he wouldn’t touch Wu Xingyun. He wanted to affirm that he shouldn’t use the simple solider in front of him as a stand-in. He wanted to tell that his injury still hurt very much, his erection notwithstanding, and that he wouldn’t use physical strength to violate Wu Xingyun.

But when Mozun saw Wu Xingyun’s wary stance, while simultaneously trying to be pretend everything was fine, Mozun found he couldn’t get the words out.

Mozun sat by the headboard, Wu Xingyun stayed in the corner. Neither one speaking again, only occasionally meeting each other’s gaze.

Finally, Wu Xingyun broke the strange silence. “You sleep in the bed, I, I have to stuff to discuss with the mechanic. Hmm……You’ve only just recovered, you should have a good rest……Also, please don’t go to other rooms……You have the ability to detect everything, but I hope you will respect our confidentiality, and not wander around at night……This base is under military management, it’s best to observe discipline……Mainly, you’ve just come back alive, please don’t cause conflict……”

Mozun gave a slight nod. “Alright.”

Like a prisoner granted amnesty, Wu Xingyun wiped the sweat from his forehead, opened his desk drawer to take some papers, and made his escape, closing the door behind him.

Luckily, the mechanic hadn’t yet fallen asleep, relying on a single computer to make plans for a communication station suitable for Yuanxing. Wu Xingyun made his presence known at the entrance, then went in to add his thoughts.

First, the signal station was for the Federal base to communicate with the Federation, therefore confidentiality was key, and no records should be kept on Yuanxing.

Second, Mozun’s senses were unbelievably strong. Therefore, to prevent any overhearing of what was being reported, it’d be best to design a completely isolated call room.

Third, guards should be posted around the signal station, along with a five hundred meter alarm system. Five hundred meters being the known range of Mozun’s perception abilities. And hopefully, that’d completely eliminate eavesdropping.

Lastly, there should be a new password encryption system, because—Ouyang Liu had graciously given the previous encryption method to Mozun.

After the mechanic and Wu Xingyun had discussed those things, Wu Xingyun destroyed the documents he’d brought with him, went to the public bath to wash himself from head to foot, and finally, went over the surveillance videos.

The surveillance had begun when Mozun entered the base with Wu Xingyun, catching the ‘incident’ between the two of them, and now showed Mozun staying honestly in Wu Xingyun’s room.

Wu Xingyun waffled for a long time. He wanted to delete the footage of the two of them together in his room, but he deemed it illegal.

In the end, Wu Xingyun pixelated over the section of them on the bed, adding a note: ‘Night Shard courtship failure, nothing special, inadvisable to watch.’

After all that, he returned to his room, opening the door to find Mozun sitting at the desk, staring blankly.

Spotting wrinkles on the bed, Wu Xingyun bent over and smoothed it, also rearranging the messed tofu blocks of blankets.

Mozun eyed Wu Xingyun’s vigorous movements, not minding the meticulous solider sticking out his bum whilst exercising his inner industriousness.

Not that Mozun understood. After all, wasn’t Wu Xingyun going to jumble it all up again when he slept? Why so seriously take the trouble?

Although Mozun couldn’t comprehend the other’s behavior, he quietly, appreciatively watched, finding the man in front of him earnest and somewhat adorable.

Wu Xingyun, having finished his housekeeping, stood by the bed and adjusted his clothes in front of the mirror. Then he said to Mozun: “Well, time for lights-out was a while ago, you should sleep.”

Mozun gave a small smile: “No, I’m not used to sleeping in other people’s beds. At night, I can just sit and heal. You sleep, I won’t disturb you.”

A little surprised, Wu Xingyun hadn’t known Mozun would treat his injuries by using heterogeneous energy. Wu Xingyun had just assumed that Mozun mended quickly due to his body mutations.

Not saying anything more, Mozun found a spot on the floor and sat down, crisscrossing his legs, and started his breathing exercises.

Staying silent himself, Wu Xingyun reached and turned the light off. Proceeding to take off his clothes and fold them on the bedside table, open up his quilt and lay down to sleep.

Soon enough, when Wu Xingyun had departed into dreamland, blissfully oblivious, Mozun slowly opened his eyes.

His wound had partially repaired, yet his strength and physical energy were still depleted.

After he’d been shoot by a particular Ghost soldier, he’d exacerbated his injury by covering it up, venting his feelings, and using energy to practice in the meteor flow. By the time his wedding night had rolled around, he’d been all but gone.

The injury was bad enough that he wouldn’t be able to recover in a day or two.
