DPM Chapter 6-Filtering Part 2
Translated by Snowfall77

Shi Fei picked his hat up off the ground. He gave Wu Xingyun another pat on the shoulder and said: “Solider, come with me! You’re going to go pick your escort team. Choose who you want, I’ll back you up!”

Wu Xingyun saluted, then the two men exited the hall.

There hadn’t been many people in the corridors before, but now there was basically no one.

Most the scientists, government officials, and high-level military personnel had already been withdrawn. Leaving only the less elite, who were yet unfortunately unaware of anything.

Shi Fei and Wu Xingyun entered the elevator, riding it up to the surface. Next they headed for the training grounds.

The training ground was located on the left side of the Federal building, on a vacant lot. It was about four thousand square meters and had originally been used for makeshift assemblies. The center had a raised podium, its surroundings flat.

The square was currently enclosed with wire mesh, to deter intrusions. The screening was still taking place, and soldiers were participating in a shooting assessment. Lasers splattering every which way.

Shi Fei and Wu Xingyun donned combat suits and helmets, to protect themselves from unsightly accidents.

From the corridor to the square, they headed straight for the podium. Shi Fei’s uniform and rank were instantly spotted, and the soldiers enthusiastically stood at attention and saluted: “Marshal!”

Shi Fei gave the soldiers a nod of recognition. Wu Xingyun kept walking, his gaze fixedly ahead. Together, they reached the platform.

After they sat down, the officer in charge booked it over, asking Shi Fei: “Marshal, the screenings are still in progress. Please provide instruction.”

Shi Fei inclined his head. “Call a stop, and have them stand in line.”

Under his command, the soldiers lined up. Shi Fei turned to Wu Xingyun and said: “It should be you deciding, who do you want?”

In a hushed voice, Wu Xingyun asked: “Really? I can pick according to my preference?

However, before another word could fall, a black aircraft ripped through the sky.

Shaped like a bird of prey, and swift, the ship was hovering before them before they had time to process.

The Federation’s Automatic Identification System finally make a statement. A robotic female voice sounded: “Night Shard Army envoy craft arrived at Deta-Nuo. Please deploy diplomatic response.”

Shi Fei gave the officer in charge a few words, and the officer ran out to ready the landing strip for the new arrival.

Everyone present had heard the automatized announcement. And most of them thought it was some ‘demon army’ peon. Only a select few knew it was Mozun, the Night Shard, himself.

Ouyang Liu was out on the field and stared at the aircraft, thinking that if Mozun came in person to watch the screening, Mozun might see him, Ouyang Liu, and have a change of heart.

Sidling a look towards the podium, Ouyang Liu only identified the Marshal, not Wu Xingyun still wearing a sealed helmet.

Ouyang Liu’s thoughts kept spinning. If the Night Shard took a liking to him, the Marshal wouldn’t be able to block Ouyang Liu from being a marriage candidate. Then recalling Wu Xingyun, Ouyang Liu snorted to himself. Was that ugly, low-IQ man delusional enough to think he was qualified to be the Night Shard’s only spouse?
