DPM Chapter 61-Mutual Understanding Part 4
Translated by Snowfall77

Wu Xingyun listlessly sat in his cabin. The bed opposite him had been assigned a new recipient, coincidently being the physicist who’d planned on buying Wu Xingyun’s formula.

Rather pleased with himself, the physicist lectured: “Young Yun, you cannot escape my grasp! I especially exchanged my single room to come to this room. Now that we’re roommates, we’ll study the great curvilinear theory formula together!”

Paying no attention to his mental case roomie, Wu Xingyun simply stayed lost in his own thoughts.

If he did stay behind, he’d die. While Ye Fan wouldn’t just survive for three hundred years, he’d live for over two thousand years.

It seemed that history couldn’t be altered. Everything was still moving on the established trajectory.

Had Wu Xingyun had come back in time to spend the rest of his life crammed in with a lunatic academic?

Meanwhile, Dr. Madman was so excited, he was already rummaging through Wu Xingyun’s luggage.

Since boarding the ship the second time, Wu Xingyun hadn’t unpacked yet. Now getting climbed over by his roommate, Wu Xingyun completely paid no mind, merely staring blankly ahead.

His head was full of Ye Fan’s shadow.

Before even marrying, that overbearing man had issued all kinds of demands of Wu Xingyun. Yet on their wedding night, Mozun had shown his sadness. On their honeymoon, he’d held Wu Xingyun in his embrace, watching the tide go in and out. Then……he’d told Wu Xingyun to get lost.

Wu Xingyun had thought that had all ended with his arrival in the past. He’d have a long time to be together with that man, and there’d be no disputes or the chaos of war.

That wasn’t the case at all.

Maybe separation truly was their final conclusion.

Covering his head with his hands, Wu Xingyun fell on his bed, irritability overwhelming him.

“Oh, what’s this?” Dr. Madman fished out an envelope from Wu Xingyun’s pack, reading what was written on it aloud: “Yun, these pictures are for you to remember by. If you truly can’t bear it, look at these.”

A little stunned, Wu Xingyun looked up to see his roommate going through a stack of photos.

He remembered he’d packed no such thing. Ye Fan had probably stuffed them in Wu Xingyun’s pack just a little bit ago.

“Your boyfriend is handsome, you’re a bit ugly.” Dr. Madman issued his evaluation of the photographs.

Abruptly reaching out, Wu Xingyun grabbed the stack of photos away from his roommate.

Wu Xingyun’s gaze fell on the photos, and he froze in shock.

The small soldier in the photograph had a shining smile, bright eyes, and spotlessly white teeth.

There’d been no chance for Wu Xingyun to see the pictures Peng Dawei had taken before. Wu Xingyun had already boarded his ship.

Consequently, Wu Xingyun hadn’t known that his own photographic image had turned out like this.

He flipped through the photos one by one, his body beginning to uncontrollably tremble.

Even though Wu Xingyun had only just received the pictures, it……It wasn’t the first time he’d seen these images.

The first time he had seen them was in a room Mozun had taken him to. When they’d been newlyweds.

A room full of photos. Identical to ones now in Wu Xingyun’s hands.

Only now did it register to Wu Xingyun that the layout of that Yuanxing room matched the current layout of Ye Fan’s basement room.

So much time had passed. Some things had become automatic, that as a result Wu Xingyun hadn’t taken any note of them.

But now he remembered. Little incessant details resounded through his mind.

The background of those photographs on Yuanxing was every corner of this base.

Mozun had described, how, in his most desperate time, a man had appeared before him.

Wu Xingyun recalled Mozun’s near-dying words on their wedding night.

“You know what? I’ve been waiting for you for a long time……Every day, every hour, every moment……You know, I never forgot you……”

“I don’t allow anyone to touch his things!”

“Know that he is the most important person in my heart, more important than all my family, parents, friends, you’d better be clear on this!”

“I will only love him.”

That afternoon, a mutant man who the whole universe feared had locked himself in a room, making the lamenting cries of a heart and lungs splitting apart.

When attacked, Mozun had consistently, protectively clutched Wu Xingyun to his chest, even though he’d been harmed and betrayed by Wu Xingyun.

That moment, facing the devouring black hole, Mozun had refused to let go of Wu Xingyun’s hand.

The man……The person Mozun had never forgotten……Was Wu Xingyun.

A burst of dizziness overcame Wu Xingyun.

Then he stood up and walked straight out of the room.

Faster and faster, until running to reach the exit area of the ship.

Looking out transparent glass windows, Wu Xingyun saw in the empty square the solitary, lonely shadow of Ye Fan.

Ye Fan’s figure was partly concealed in darkness, his eyes filled with boundless longing. Yet he hadn’t said a word.

Instead, he’d claimed: “Go on, I won’t see you off.” Only to foolishly stand alone in the abandoned plaza, watching Wu Xingyun depart.

The mutant man who’d asserted he’d find somebody else, that he’d forget Wu Xingyun, had never forgotten.

Thinking himself stupid to the extreme, Wu Xingyun raced to the hatch, where he was stopped by a guard: “I’m sorry, the ship is about to take off, you can’t……”

With a cry and a bang, Wu Xingyun knocked the guard down, jumping out of the closing ship hatch.

The gangway had already been raised, so Wu Xingyun climbed down the scaffolding and rushed towards Ye Fan.

Ground slightly vibrating, innumerable dust motes flying upwards, Wu Xingyun ran to the lone man standing in the square.

Ye Fan quickly perceived the person running away from the spaceship, staring at the man incredulously, afraid to let himself believe what he was seeing. Frozen in place, Ye Fan couldn’t fathom what was happening.

Not until Wu Xingyun threw himself into Ye Fan’s arms, did Ye Fan know it was real. He held Wu Xingyun tightly.

“Fool! Stupid!” Ye Fan couldn’t stop kissing the man in his embrace. “Why didn’t you go? You’re going to die if you stay!”

Wu Xingyun kissed Ye Fan back, closely fixing his body to Ye Fan’s. Together, they firmly held each other.

“I won’t leave here without you.”

“We agreed we’d never be apart.”

“Even if I die shortly, I……I want to be with you.”

Ye Fan deeply kissed Wu Xingyun. In the deserted square, under the streetlights, the combined shadow of the two stretched infinitely long.

Ten spaceships slowly rose in the sky behind them, huge waves forcing the two men to the ground.

Sheltering Wu Xingyun against his chest, Ye Fan could feel the soldier’s incessant trembling.

Wu Xingyun and Ye Fan raised their heads together. The ten ships were like ten stars breaking through the blue dome of heaven, on an endless track into nightfall.

Arms rigid around Wu Xingyun, Ye Fan could also hear the other’s heartbeat.

“From now on, we……Can have one day, be together one day. We’ll be together always. We won’t separate anymore.”

Ye Fan, with Wu Xingyun’s head buried in his shoulder, felt a sadness in his heart, but also an unbounded happiness.

Countless forsaken mutants, in that moment, maybe hiding in their room, maybe foraging for remaining food, or perhaps lifting their heads, knew that Noah’s Ark had departed into the sky.

Everyone clearly knew they had been abandoned.

Everyone understood to their core—henceforth, there would be no more order to their world, no science and technology, no civilization.

The Earth, humanity’s home for millennium, would again enter a savage age, without hope, without a future, forever a dark world.
For some people, the last days became even more dreadful and terrible.

But for the mutants, the Great Nirvana had only just begun.

" "

Ye Fan and Wu Xingyun almost ran all the way back to the basement room. With a bang and a cry, the door shut closed behind them.

Pressing Wu Xingyun against the door, Ye Fan kissed the soldier.

While Wu Xingyun was unprecedently ardent in his response.

The two began undressing, removing belts, until finally they rolled onto the bed in a tangle.

“Yun, you……Stupid!” Ye Fan was still kissing, his breath heavy.

Wu Xingyun shed his pants, saying: “Our time isn’t much, I think……I won’t live long, so don’t bullshit.”

Ye Fan settled on Wu Xingyun’s lips, licking and sucking as if he’d swallow Wu Xingyun whole, consuming in an attempt to relieve his affection.

When Ye Fan entered, they both made a high, crying moan.

The feeling of being invaded by a foreign object for the first time wracked Wu Xingyun, he even wanted to retch a little.

But he bore it in silence. Compared with his body’s discomfort, his heart was incomparably full.

Ye Fan started gently moving, their hands clasped together as they intensely kissed each other on the lips.

Waves of passion hit them straight on, their burning skin tightly fitted together, Ye Fan thrusting, their colliding bodies making ‘papapa’ sounds.

“Yun, I love you……”

“I love you.”

Ye Fan couldn’t stop saying it, holding Wu Xingyun in his arms. Using his own way, Ye Fan committed the deepest invasion, the most complete possession.

Wu Xingyun held Ye Fan’s face, softly kissing: “I love you too……”

By that point, they both came. Afterwards, their abdomens were sticky and wet, yet they didn’t want to separate.

Still staying in the other’s body, Ye Fan held Wu Xingyun, leaning them against the headboard, kissing the soldier’s cheek, his neck.
“You know, when you left, I……I truly felt like I was almost dying.”

“So you said all that? About how you’d find someone new and more suitable in the future, and we should forget each other, go up to the ‘rivers and lakes’?”

Ye Fan hugged Wu Xingyun tightly: “I was afraid you’d stay, afraid you……wouldn’t be willing to leave.”

Raising his head a bit, Wu Xingyun gazed at the man facing him, the man whose eyes were filled with adoration and longing.
“Now, are you still afraid?”

Ye Fan slightly shook his head: “No……Anyways, if the worst happens……I don’t know if I can go on living. But no matter, we’ll live together and die together.”

“Good……” Wu Xingyun reached out a hand and held Ye Fan’s palm.

“Yun……You……Do you regret it?”

" "

“Will not.”

“Then……How do you feel about me?”

“Very good, otherwise why would I stay behind?”

“You know, I don’t mean that……It’s……this……” Ye Fan’s waist marginally moved forwards, the tool that’d just gone off not completely soft, but hardening again.

“It hurts down there……Don’t stick it in…….I think I’m bleeding.”

Scared, Ye Fan retreated without delay, saying: “You turn around, I’ll take a look.”

Despite feeling somewhat awkward, Wu Xingyun still yielded and turned around.

“Lift your bottom a bit, I can’t see clearly.”

“The outside doesn’t seem injured, I’ll……go inside?”

Wu Xingyun felt something wasn’t quite right somewhere, but didn’t know how to put it in words.

Consequently, he didn’t oppose. Hearing a pop, he felt something invade behind him again.

“Is it uncomfortable here?” Ye Fan’s finger was touching slowly.

Wu Xingyun shook his head.

“Then is it here?” Ye Fan’s finger circling inside.

“Oh……You……Not there…….” When he touched a certain point, Ye Fan felt a shiver run through Wu Xingyun’s body.

“Don’t touch where? Is it here……or……here?”

Now harboring duplicitous intentions, Ye Fan moved his finger out and something else in. Overwhelming the soldier’s body, Ye Fan grabbed Wu Xingyun’s front with a hand. “Yes…… Don’t touch it here?”

“Mmm……Ah……Can’t do……Can’t make…….” Wu Xingyun’s weak spot discovered, he began to tremble.

Ye Fan leaned down to whisper lowly in Wu Xingyun’s ear: “Time is short, we mustn’t waste it……I know you’re actually comfortable.”

The popping sounds resumed, interspersed with hums and intermittent groans.

“Is it comfortable?” Seeing the soldier’s glazed eyes and slightly parted lips, Ye Fan softly spoke: “Don’t be shy. In any case, I’m already inside.”

“It’s still……Mmm……” Wu Xingyun’s head felt like a blank space. He found it completely unexpected that, when it came to this kind of thing, Ye Fan was so utterly shameless.

Ye Fan’s waist drove hard. As he desired, Wu Xingyun’s moans rose, and the soldier involuntarily made requests.

“A little deeper……Again……A bit harder……Ah……”

" "

“Good.” Ye Fan kissed Wu Xingyun’s lips, his voice muddled and husky as he pierced farther, using greater strength, thrusting into Wu Xingyun’s body, burying himself in Wu Xingyun’s body, to the greatest depth.

Even if there was no tomorrow, no future, no anything……At least in this moment, they had each other.
