DPM Chapter 63-Part 2
Translated by Snowfall77

The next day, Ye Fan went out again for a fixed period of time. Although not before exhorting Wu Xingyun to not go out on his own, even if Ye Fan didn’t return.

When Ye Fan did come back, it was better than that first day. Ye Fan had bloodstains on his body, but they weren’t his.

Ye Fan had brought back water and food, including one fruit.

The fruit was red and ping ball-sized. They shared it, and after the sweet juice flowed into their stomachs, they started lovemaking again.

Whenever the two would awaken, Ye Fan would got out. Sometimes he would return early, other times he’d be late. Once he didn’t come back for two days. Yet whenever he did return, they’d join their bodies.

But the worst time was when Ye Fan’s lower leg got hurt, and Ye Fan had to hop his way back to the basement.

Helping Ye Fan treat his injuries, Wu Xingyun’s heart was deeply upset. He knew very well that if it weren’t for Ye Fan trying to bring food back for himself, Ye Fan wouldn’t be caught in such a difficult situation.

And if it wasn’t for them constantly having sex, Ye Fan might have the strength to do other things.

From Ye Fan’s mouth, Wu Xingyun heard that the other mutants were already evolving assorted advanced abilities. While only Ye Fan, the most dreadful demon king of later generations, had made almost no progress. Perhaps because he was tired day and night.

Then, after about a month of this kind of life, Wu Xingyun was found by other mutants.

The mutants forced Wu Xingyun to hand over food and water, then suspended him and beat him.

When Ye Fan returned to this scene, he went nearly crazy. Like an old hen protecting its chick, he madly attacked those who were many times higher in strength than he was. Covered in blood, he nearly died.

Ultimately, it was the timely arrival of Dai Rong that resolved the crisis.

At that moment, holding Ye Fan in his arms, Wu Xingyun couldn’t help crying.

Wu Xingyun had stayed behind, because he loved Ye Fan, and because he knew Ye Fan loved him. That impulse had been so overwhelming, Wu Xingyun hadn’t thought beyond it.

Yet the food Ye Fan managed to bring back wasn’t enough for him to eat his fill, for he had to divide it with Wu Xingyun.

Almost every time he went out, Ye Fan’s stomach was growling with hunger.

Holding Ye Fan splayed out on the ground, Wu Xingyun felt unprecedently small, weak, and useless.

He even suspected that his decision to stay with Ye Fan had proved to be a mistake in the end.

If not for Wu Xingyun being a burden on him, Ye Fan might already be leader of the mutants, instead of the wretched state he was currently in.

Wu Xingyun considered how he’d stayed of his own volition……Now, besides giving Ye Fan his body, what else use was he?

When Ye Fan opened his eyes, held tight against Wu Xingyun’s chest, he saw Wu Xingyun’s red swollen eyes and tasted the salty tears.

Extending his tongue, Ye Fan licked his lips, heavy with the flavor of Wu Xingyun’s grief.

Ye Fan reached out a hand to gently stroke Wu Xingyun’s face: “Yun, don’t be sad. We’ll find a way.”

All Wu Xingyun could do was hold Ye Fan closer and kiss him, hoping it would make Ye Fan happy.

Responding tenderly, Ye Fan softly murmured: “Don’t be discouraged, don’t feel sorry for me. You have to know, without you, I’d already be dead. What I’ve done for you isn’t even one tenth of what you’ve done for me.”

Hearing these kinds of words, Wu Xingyun’s heart only filled with more sorrow. So much that, for a split second, he thought of giving up.

However Ye Fan immediately added: “Come what may, we’ll get stronger. So don’t give in, alright?”

Wu Xingyun gazed at Ye Fan. The young man’s hair had already grown very long, his face bleak and resolute, and his whole body exuded an implacable killing aura.

His heart had been fervent all along though, always firmly attached to Wu Xingyun’s.

Nodding forcibly, Wu Xingyun responded with: “Good.”

They moved somewhere else that same day. Ye Fan wrapped Wu Xingyun, sealing him from head to toe. Then Ye Fan carried Wu Xingyun on his back, through the thick fog to their next hiding place.

The mutants on the base were many, and unsurprisingly, food became very scarce.

Every day, the time required for hunting grew longer and longer. Ye Fan had joined a small group of about thirteen people, organized by Dai Rong.

Whenever Ye Fan went out hunting, Wu Xingyun would promptly and carefully conceal himself. And when Ye Fan brought back food, Wu Xingyun made sure the mutant got the bigger share.

During these times, for no reason Wu Xingyun kept thinking of what Ye Fan had said when they’d met on the snowy pass: “I know how to do lots of things……I’m not going to drag you down……Please don’t leave me……”

Now Wu Xingyun was the one trying hard not to be a burden, striving to make Ye Fan not worry about him.

One day, for the first time, Ye Fan returned empty-handed. Dai Rong accompanied him and Ye Fan couldn’t repress his happy expression.

He rushed to Wu Xingyun, kissing him deeply, then said: “Yun, I got good news today.”

Wu Xingyun smiled: “What news?”

Ye Fan turned his head to look at Dai Rong.

Dai Rong patted both of them on the shoulder: “To be exact, I have good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?”

“Good news first,” said Wu Xingyun.

“A mutant from Xi’an talked about a man today. Apparently, in Xi’an, there’s the biggest group of mutants, very formidable. But their leader isn’t a mutant, he’s an ordinary person!”
