DPM Chapter 64
Translated by Snowfall77

The two men had set off on their journey, their silhouettes quickly disappearing into the thick Saer fog, obscured from watching eyes.

Enclosed in the metal box, Wu Xingyun gazed up at the sky, dark and boundless, while the endless white fog covered the earth.

Even Ye Fan’s voice was muffled. The only sound clear to Wu Xingyun was his own heartbeat and the sound of his blood flowing in his veins.

Not long after they’d departed, Wu Xingyun’s box was put down. The sight of a mutated poisonous scorpion pierced through the fog, its body twenty centimeters long, lurking in the sand not far ahead.

Observing the surroundings as much as he could, Wu Xingyun silently estimated that they’d gone beyond the base and were starting to cross the desert. He also worried that the scorpion would attack Ye Fan, but instead saw Ye Fan’s hand pluck it from the ground.

Ye Fan next set up a small tent, sealed it with insulation, and the two people had the fat absurd scorpion for dinner.

When done eating the meat, Ye Fan left the tent to cut out a chunk from a nearby enormous cactus. Squeezing out juice for Wu Xingyun to drink, Ye Fan also drank a few mouthfuls himself.

Having eaten and drunk enough, Ye Fan went back into the tent, and holding each other in their arms, the two men went to sleep.

The desert night was particularly cold, making Wu Xingyun shiver. Therefore, Ye Fan pulled Wu Xingyun closer, their chests pressed together, as Ye Fan used his own body heat to warm the other.

Ye Fan and Wu Xingyun traversed the desert for a full month. During that time, whenever Ye Fan had excessive energy, he’d run wildly, Wu Xingyun still on his back. When he’d eventually turn tired, he’d stop to slowly walk.

Wu Xingyun never tried to say “take more rest,” or “leave me behind,” knowing full well that wasn’t what Ye Fan needed. Instead, he merely softly kissed Ye Fan’s lips every night, giving strength in that way.

There were few mutated animals in the desert, though some of the plants were developing into plumper, more succulent versions. The scariest thing they ran across was a gigantic rattlesnake with astonishing speed.

Happily, Ye Fan was experienced in dealing with such creatures. He didn’t even have to put Wu Xingyun down to easily dispatch the rattlesnake.

It was the day they left the desert that Ye Fan’s usual relaxed expression vanished.

Hugging each other in the tent, Wu Xingyun asked Ye Fan: “Tomorrow we go into the forest?”

Ye Fan nodded and kissed the soldier in his arms: “Don’t be worried, I can handle it.”

“I’m not worried,” Wu Xingyun replied. “I’m just thinking, carrying the box might be too inconvenient for you. Why don’t we dismantle the tent, and make it into a protective suit for me? And there’s still the gas masks. That way we can walk together.”

Thinking about it, Ye Fan felt that Wu Xingyun made sense.

Originally, passing through the desert, there’d been many toxins, yet the path had been relatively smooth. Carrying Wu Xingyun in the metal box had been tiring, yet also convenient.

Once they entered the forest, Ye Fan feared there’d be many spots where the box simply wouldn’t be able to get through.

But if they dismantled the tent……

That meant, in the future, there’d be no way to sleep whilst embracing Wu Xingyun.

Who knew how many days they’d have to trudge through the forest? If he had to go too long without ‘eating meat,’ wouldn’t he starve?

" "

Feeling hesitant, Ye Fan slowly stroked Wu Xingyun’s smooth back, rather reluctant to give this up.

After Wu Xingyun slightly lifted his head to look at him, Ye Fan confessed: “I can’t bear it……Unless……You let me eat my fill tonight.”

Wu Xingyun didn’t immediately understand. Thinking Ye Fan was still hungry for actual food, Wu Xingyun answered: “There’s a little bit of food left from today……It’s in the box outside, you can go get it……”

Then before he could finish his words, Wu Xingyun felt something hard poking at his lower half.

Then Wu Xingyun comprehended what Ye Fan meant by: “Let me eat my fill tonight.”

Their eyes met, emotions clear. Ye Fan knew Wu Xingyun understood, so Ye Fan held the soldier even tighter, saying in a low voice: “Will you feed me or no?”

Only naturally, Ye Fan didn’t wait for a reply to promptly start eating.

The tent wasn’t very roomy. When Ye Fan arched his back, it hit the roof of the tent. Ye Fan was half-lying on Wu Xingyun while he moved in and out.

“Yun……you……it’s tight, feels good……” As the number of times they had sex grew, Ye Fan’s words got more and more crassly explicit. In the beginning, Ye Fan had been more euphemistic, using ‘I love you’ to express his overall delight. Now he directly proceeded to graphic descriptions and demands, sometimes even deliberately making things difficult for Wu Xingyun.

“What did you just say you wanted me to do? I didn’t hear you clearly.” Ye Fan asked, up to no good, his forehead lightly resting against Wu Xingyun’s forehead.

Wu Xingyun refused to repeat, therefore Ye Fan sluggishly withdrew, pretending to pant for air: “Tired……sleep.”

Fuck you! Wu Xingyun cursed in his heart. This tool was obviously doing it on purpose, but……Even if Wu Xingyun knew Ye Fan was being willfully wicked, Wu Xingyun really couldn’t let him fall asleep at this crucial time!

Expression twisted and face flushed, Wu Xingyun shyly raised his head and whispered in Ye Fan’s ear.

“Good. I’ll satisfy you.” Ye Fan’s fingers nestled in Wu Xingyun’s hair, his arms binding, as he slowly crushed, pounded rapidly, until a tide of pleasure rolled over them both, drowning them.

“Ye Fan,” Wu Xingyun’s head was resting on Ye Fan’s arm after they’d finished, “Do you still have strength?”

Moving a little, Ye Fan pressed Wu Xingyun underneath again, and gave him a deep kiss: “Naturally. You want more?”

“You, be careful.” Wu Xingyun replied.

Ye Fan smiled, his kisses traveling from the neck to the collarbones, then down to the abdomen, where his tongue swirled around Wu Xingyun’s navel. With a low laugh, he teased: “Your stomach won’t get big, in any case. Be careful of what?”

Although slightly stirred up by Ye Fan’s provocations, Wu Xingyun reached out a hand to cover what Ye Fan was trying to kiss: “I mean, tomorrow, you have to be careful.”

Ye Fan stared blankly for a second, and then understood.

It didn’t matter if Ye Fan indulged his lust, but it wasn’t something Wu Xingyun could afford.

So Ye Fan softly kissed the back of Wu Xingyun’s hand and said: “Right, let’s sleep.”

Wu Xingyun let loose an inward sigh of relief. He’d been afraid that Ye Fan, in order to have his fill, would want to ‘eat’ ten days and ten nights. They’d end up not even thinking of going through the forest, but instead directly die at the edge of the desert.

They’d resumed their previous posture. Ye Fan used one arm to pillow his head, and the other was around Wu Xingyun: “Everything’s going to be alright. We’ll definitely find Wang Ruoxu and his younger brother!”

“Mmm.” Wu Xingyun gently kissed Ye Fan’s cheek, “Go to sleep.”

All around was darkness and enveloping fog, huge pillars of silent immortals towering in barren grit, while scorpions crept stealthily, set to forage.

Surrounded by quietness, in the small tent the breath of the two men mingled, their bodies intertwined, embracing as they slept.

As soon as the two woke up, Ye Fan started tearing the tent apart, sewing together an isolation suit for Wu Xingyun.

Wu Xingyun, for his part, checked on his gas masks.

Each mask could be used for four days, and he had ten in total. He should be able to make it completely through the forest.

After spending two days making Wu Xingyun’s suit, Ye Fan watched Wu Xingyun put it on.

They held their weapons, while Wu Xingyun, wearing what resembled a crude biochemical suit, looked a bit ridiculous.

Tying a rope around their waists, Ye Fan walked in front, and Wu Xingyun followed his steps.

Ye Fan’s perceptions were sharp. Since the thick Saer fog had descended, his senses now stretched to three hundred meters, six times higher than when he’d started mutating.

Not only that, but his bodily health was evolving at rapid rates. Forced to exercise some moderation with Wu Xingyun, Ye Fan felt that every muscle in his body was brimming with strength.

Even so, in the dangerous forest, there’d be unavoidable dilemmas.

They inadvertently went through an area of flesh-eating flowers. Wu Xingyun, not being as quick as Ye Fan, found it impossible to match Ye Fan’s pace. Therefore, Ye Fan had to madly dash away with Wu Xingyun on his back.

Wu Xingyun hadn’t forgotten Luo Guo’s death. Wrapping his arms closely around Ye Fan’s neck, legs around Ye Fan’s waist, Wu Xingyun tried his best to be a well-behaved, easily-carried bundle.

The plump carnivorous petals moved open and shut, producing an eerie ‘papapa’ sound behind them, making their hairs stand on end.

After escaping the man-eating flowers’ domain, they were attacked by a praying mantis.

It nearly killed them both. Later Ye Fan started going in advance, cleanly killing any creatures with natural camouflage, and then quickly pulling Wu Xingyun through the cleared area.

The whole journey, who knew how many monsters they encountered?

A bucket-thick python, mosquitoes the size of fists, frogs three meters high, and never mind the insects invisible to the naked eye.

Every time, Ye Fan nearly lost his life. Especially when they’d run into the mosquitoes, Ye Fan had clutched Wu Xingyun to his chest, brandishing a blade to cut the bugs in half.

As a result, Ye Fan’s blood was almost completely sucked away. His back swelled like a small hill, but Wu Xingyun remained untouched.

Looking at the mass of dead mosquitos piled about three meters high, Ye Fan believed it was where he’d die too.

Wu Xingyun didn’t think that, though. Due to his excessive blood loss, Ye Fan lost consciousness and Wu Xingyun carried Ye Fan away, calmly waiting for the mutant to come to.

When he did become aware again, Ye Fan’s lips were miserably pale. However, he was incredibly glad that Wu Xingyun hadn’t suffered a temporary brain fever, taken off his gas mask, and tried to give Ye Fan a blood transfusion. The last thing Ye Fan wanted to wake to was a dead body.

“I wouldn’t do that kind of thing.” Wu Xingyun smiled, touching Ye Fan’s head with a gloved hand. “Because we have to keep living on together.”

Vitality restored, Ye Fan went on a hunt, killing a lone wolf, drinking its blood, and eating its meat. Being full again, Ye Fan’s physical strength soared back, his face no longer deathly white.

They traveled through the forest for a month and a half, until finally reaching the sought for outskirts of Xi’an.
