When Ye Fan was about halfway to Wang Qiang, he suddenly heard a voice calling to him from the underbrush: “Ye Fan, Ye Fan!”
Ye Fan didn’t have to turn his head to know who it was. He said: “Come out and come back with me. It’ll be alright.”

Both Wang Qiang and Wang Ruoxu stared blankly, hardly knowing what to make of Ye Fan’s statement.

Snapping out of his stupor after a long pause, Wang Ruoxu had an abrupt, happy realization—Ye Fan was showing his goodwill, showing that he didn’t consider Wang Ruoxu the enemy.
In an instant, Wu Xingyun was shoved to Wang Qiang’s side. Turning his head to stare at Ye Fan, Wu Xingyun couldn’t believe what he heard.
He took in the careless expression on Ye Fan’s face. The same languid look Mozun had worn when Wu Xingyun had seen him for the first time.
Wu Xingyun wanted to speak, but found his mouth wouldn’t make the words.
Practically numb, Wu Xingyun was grabbed and tied up. He didn’t resist even a little while it happened, just silently peered at Ye Fan’s face.
Ye Fan strode by Wang Ruoxu’s side, while Wu Xingyun was dragged behind Wang Qiang who was holding the rope.
While walking along, Wang Qiang surveyed Wu Xingyun with a quick glance: “Ye Fan, are you truly willing to part with him? Your friend is crying like he’s broken-hearted.”
“I’ve been thinking he’s a burden for a while,” Ye Fan replied, “But I felt sorry for him. I don’t have the ability to support him though, so Wang Ruoxu is helping alleviate my strain.”
“Hehe.” Wang Ruoxu smiled. “Like this, you’ve earned two great merits today! I’m not trying forcibly seize your friend, I just need him to practice. When I’m finished with him, I’ll return him to you.”
“I don’t care about that, I just care about my own pratice,” Ye Fan said, “As long as I’ve got strength, I can find people can’t I?”
Exceptionally cheerful, Wang Ruoxu answered: “Good! Truly a capable right-hand man!”

Nearly everybody understood this was due to Wu Xingyun’s anger at being betrayed.
Wang Ruoxu and Ye Fan chatted about how Ye Fan had killed the other mutant leader, until Wang Qiang came in: “Ye Fan, go soothe your friend. He’d crying and making a fuss about seeing you.”
Ye Fan shrugged: “What’s there to see?”
Warily glancing at Ye Fan, Wang Qiang still didn’t completely believe that Ye Fan would sell out Wu Xingyun in exchange for upgraded strength.
And Wang Qiang would never have imagined that Ye Fan would capture and return Wu Xingyun himself.
“You’re not worried about him? Or are you afraid you’ll be moved by old affections and not be able to give him up to us?” Wang Qiang asked with distaste, hating the sight of Ye Fan currying favor with his older brother, while also being bitterly annoyed at Wang Ruoxu for not seeing through people clearly enough. Ye Fan was obviously a vicious scoundrel. If he could betray his lover today, he’d betray the brothers the tomorrow. Wang Ruoxu was blocking him, but Wang Qiang itched to kill Ye Fan that very moment. In any case—Wang Qiang consoled himself with the knowledge that, with his current higher strength, taking out Ye Fan would be easy.
