DPM Chapter 77-The Truth Part 1
Translated by Snowfall77

Ordinarily, Ye Fan was not aloof or solitary, though he was often taciturn. And he rarely used his prerogatives to get what he wanted. Now, however, he was driven to make an exception.

For the purpose of eating an undisturbed, satisfying meal of meat, he once again cleared out the entire forest, with not even a spider remaining. That same day, he also asked mutants to guard the outlaying area, using the excuse of practicing martial arts.

Everything properly ready at last, Ye Fan grabbed Wu Xingyun, bringing him into the woods.

The sun lazily shone through the gaps of the trees, mottled light and shadow shifting like grasses growing under river water.

His wishes fulfilled, Ye Fan had eaten for three days and three nights. Barely able to budge, Wu Xingyun was being held by Ye Fan, sitting against the boulder in the river. Both told the other their feelings about being apart.

Then they discussed Dai Rong wanting to cross the oceans.

Ye Fan had already told Dai Rong—Ye Fan could send some of his people along with, however he himself wouldn’t go. Ye Fan wanted to always stay by Wu Xingyun’s side.

Eyes flickering, Ye Fan kissed Wu Xingyun, murmuring to his lover softly.

Wu Xingyun’s hand played with Ye Fan’s hair. Long and smooth, it trailed through Wu Xingyun’s fingertips, engrossing him.

“Yun, I love you.” Ye Fan kept declaring his feelings, gathering Wu Xingyun tighter into his embrace, half their bodies submerged in the warm water. A moment later Ye Fan began to anticipate their future: “We’ll establish a city where everyone can live, like—like it was before.”

His back leaning against Ye Fan’s chest, Wu Xingyun smelled Ye Fan’s unique scent, felt the warmth of his body.

“It’ll need a shopping mall, a residential district, hotels……mmm, a wedding hall. If we build it, we’ll hold our wedding there, all right?”

Recalling his wedding day with Mozun on Yuanxing, Wu Xingyun nodded: “Alright.”

A smile lit up Ye Fan’s face: “I’ll prepare a wedding ring. Hmm, let me think what kind to get you. By the way, if we can build such a city, what kind of house would you like?”

Wu Xingyun gazed into Ye Fan’s eyes, filled with tenderness, love flowing out like a boundless ocean that would never cease.

“A wooden house.” Wu Xingyun narrowed his eyes, imagining. “Three stories high, with a garden in the front, and a balcony where you can look off into the distance. A place like Luo Ying’s,” Wu Xingyun’s voice lowered, “You remember, that snowy night, what you said……”

“Let’s start our official relationship.” Ye Fan completed Wu Xingyun’s sentence, closely hugging the soldier, his voice low too, “That was the first time you willingly kissed me.”

Smiling, Wu Xingyun gave Ye Fan another kiss on the lips.

The two made boundless plans for the future. Many times Ye Fan spoke exceptionally practically, as if he’d get it done tomorrow.

Not following Ye Fan’s thoughts though, Wu Xingyun’s ideas were even more unconstrained, arbitrary, and truly fanciful.

Yet no matter what wild notion Wu Xingyun came up with, Ye Fan would smile and nod: “Right, that’s it.”

“Good, we’ll make a place like that.”

“Well, if we can live forever, we’ll find a planet full of trees with heart-shaped leaves. We’ll settle it and live there.”

Not until dusk did Ye Fan leave the forest with Wu Xingyun. The outward appearances of the mutant guards were unperturbed, but inwardly—their leader had gone four days and three nights—this was a record! Should it be proclaimed or kept on the down-low?!

At first, Ye Fan had considerately held onto Wu Xingyun as they were walking. But after seeing other people Ye Fan released Wu Xingyun’s hand, letting Wu Xingyun proceed by himself. Despite the fact that Ye Fan would have preferred to demonstrate his monopolization at all times, he didn’t. Because Wu Xingyun didn’t like it.

When Ye Fan and Wu Xingyun reached the city gate side by side, they found Liu Meng there.

Somewhat surprised, Wu Xingyun looked to Ye Fan, thinking Liu Meng had been waiting for him.

Ye Fan raised an eyebrow at Liu Meng, and Liu Meng’s eyes fell, his expression turning deeply despondent.

“What are you doing here?” Wu Xingyun asked.

Liu Meng shook his head, snuck a glance at Ye Fan, and finally plucked up his courage: “Wu Yun, I……Can I talk to you alone?”

Instinctually grabbing Wu Xingyun’s hand again, Ye Fan then found his own behavior rather humorous. Vying with a ten-year-old boy? For what? Ye Fan let go.

Leaving Ye Fan at the gate, Wu Xingyun strode off with Liu Meng.

Liu Meng and Wu Xingyun walked for a long time without stopping, until Wu Xingyun demanded: “What’s going on?!”

“It’d be better if we went a little further,” Liu Meng replied.

However, Wu Xingyun refused to take another step, giving Liu Meng a look: “What do you want to say? We’re far enough away from Mozun, he won’t hear.”

Liu Meng eyed Wu Xingyun for minute, then suddenly asked in a whispering voice: “You don’t want to be with the Night Shard, do you?”

Wu Xingyun couldn’t figure out what Liu Meng was getting at. During the past half-month, Liu Meng had lost his thin and sickly appearance, yet his young face often seemed intensely dejected.

“Why do you ask?” Wu Xingyun trying to understand.

Liu Meng bowed his head, a few moments later saying: “I like you.”

Slowly crouching down, Liu Meng grabbed a twig, drawing circles in the dirt: “I didn’t expect that you were in that kind of relationship……I asked myself a few days ago why you sleep together every night……I feel very sad that you’re with him……even doing it for days and nights……”

Not knowing whether to laugh or cry, Wu Xingyun stood at a loss. Was he……being confessed to by a ten-year-old child? “Children shouldn’t talk nonsense,” Wu Xingyun said, “Go back to bed, where did you learn such things?”

Slightly raising his head, Liu Meng looked at Wu Xingyun: “You think I’m joking? I’m not. I’ll grow up, grow up soon. I can stand by your side. He’ll never have the feelings I have for you. Never……”

Speechless, Wu Xingyun reached out to touch Liu Meng’s head, but Liu Meng dodged, voice tinged with anger: “Don’t treat me like a child!”

Wu Xingyun felt helpless. “You’re still young, very young. Later you’ll realize how absurd these words are……”

“No!” Liu Meng interrupted, “I already thought this way! Even four years ago……when I saw you for the first time……”

Wu Xingyun’s astonishment grew.
