Chapter 3: A Pervert Should Not Be As Powerful As The Wild Wolf (2)

“But, are you sure you’re not mistaken? I’ve checked her family, and you two have never been in contact with each other.” Xia Hong had helped Song Wenye to settle the agency. Naturally, he had checked Chu Xiaxin’s background thoroughly. Although Chu Xiaxin was quite notorious not long ago, she and Song Wenye had nothing in common.

“There’s no mistake.” Song Wenye lowered his eyes and said, “If it wasn’t for the news not long ago, I wouldn’t have known that she was that man’s daughter.”

After the blow-up of the scandal, Chu Xiaxin’s family background was stripped clean. Her father had died early from bankruptcy and debts. Her mother had been seriously ill for a long time and had just recently passed away, which was nothing short of tragic for her. Song Wenye had a one-sided relationship with Chu Xiaxin’s father when he was young. If he didn’t happen to see the news, he wouldn’t have been able to recognize Chu Xiaxin.

Due to Song Wenye’s special status, he was not able to control the agency directly. He asked Xia Hong to step in and do it for him. Xia Hong was a fun-loving little dude. It was normal to have one or two small film and television companies in his hands, which would not attract much attention.

Xia Hong looked curious. “So, what’s the arrangement for this person now? Shall I put her on the set?”

“You can get her back on track first. I don’t know much about the film and television industry either, so you can handle it.” Song Wenye pondered for a few seconds. Even though Chu Xiaxin was the daughter of a benefactor, he didn’t know how to get along with the other party. He hesitantly said, “I’ll find a chance to meet her after I finish handling the group’s affairs.”

Xia Hong clicked his tongue. “You really are the Snail Girl[1], giving resources without seeking return!”

Xia Hong lamented the life of the rich; it was simple and plain. Moreover, there was actually a talent like Song Wenye, who squandered money on women but wanted nothing in return. Xia Hong suddenly thought of something and said, “By the way, a certain young master has been picking on me recently. You have to take him out for me!”

Song Wenyi said calmly, “He’s already at the end of his rope. Soon, he won’t be able to make any waves.”

Xia Hong couldn’t help but clap his hands and praise, “As expected of our Mr. Song, the moment you open your mouth, you will be the usual veteran villain!”

Inside the office building, Chu Xiaxing and Han Chuning arrived at the agency. They looked at the inconspicuous office area and finally sat outside the conference room in boredom. At that moment, they happened to run into Manager Xiao Cheng, who was passing by.

“Mr. Xia is in the conference room for business meetings. He will only meet with you later…” Xiao Cheng noticed Han Chuning, who was wearing a black mask. She could not help but raise her eyebrows in surprise. “And this is?”

Chu Xiaxing: “My friend.”

Xiao Cheng looked subtle: “You still have friends?” She had always felt that Chu Xiaxing was rather introverted and had few friends and family around her.

After Xiao Cheng left, Chu Xiaxing and Han Chuning looked through the glass wall of the conference room. They surveyed Xia Hong together, who was talking eloquently at the conference table. The man did not look old. Though, he had an air of being a rascal. He was dressed like a rich second-generation loafing around.

Chu Xiaxing said with disgust, “This is it? He is obviously a brat, yet he still follows the example of others and adopts a starlet?”

In Chu Xiaxing’s opinion, Xia Hong belonged to the playful little bratty category. His looks and words could cheat the teenage girls, looking like an unruly dude. However, in reality, he had not experienced any hardships. All in all, he had no manly taste at all.

Chu Xiaxing often encountered these types of people in the past. They were typically rich sons of well-to-do families, with the mentality of cheating to be actors or stars. They had small minds and lacked any ability.

Han Chuning knew that Chu Xiaxing already felt disappointed with the rich master. She was gloating in her misfortune. “Auntie, aren’t all the rich masters like this? He should still be in good condition. At least, he’s not going bald, doesn’t have a beer belly, and doesn’t look greasy!”

Chu Xiaxing: “Drop it. Just find a way to buy back my contract and quickly end this matter.”

Chu Xiaxing originally had a teasing mood of pretending to be weak and helpless to the rich master. Now that she personally saw her so-called ‘rich master,’ she couldn’t raise her spirit again. It could be called a three-minute heat. If she had really encountered a big scoundrel, she could still use some little tactics, but the opponent was just a little brat. It immediately doused her fighting spirit.

Han Chuning had become accustomed to her mood swings long ago. She reminded her, “That, I can’t finish it before you join the crew. Chu Xiaxin has already signed the contract…”

Chu Xiaxin had signed a contract with the crew of “You Who in The Distant Heart” a long time ago, but the project almost collapsed in the middle of the way. Now, it was inexplicably restarted. Chu Xiaxing couldn’t immediately terminate the contract, either. After all, her manager had asked the artists to obey the company’s work arrangement. When Han Chuning finished handling the contract, the crew was estimated to be finalized.

Chu Xiaxing said casually: “Isn’t it just acting in a drama? How long would it take? It happens that I haven’t joined a crew for a long time. I can still discover that feeling.”

Chu Xiaxing was not afraid of acting. In the industry, the phrase “The directors work together” had always been famous. Everyone thought that there was something in common between actors and directors. Top directors had their own opinions on acting, just like some top actors could switch to directors.

Chu Xiaxing felt that she had a good time warming up in the crew. The contract was settled smoothly after signing the non-disclosure agreement. Nothing was delayed, and the itinerary was planned quite perfectly.

“Chu Xiaxing, Mr. Xia wants to see you.” Xiao Cheng called her out. The staff in the conference room came out one after another, as if the room was deliberately left empty. They all looked at Chu Xiaxing subtly. They obviously knew some inside information, thinking that Chu Xiaxing and the new boss had an impure relationship.

Chu Xiaxing was quite calm in the face of the complicated eyes of the crowd. She got up and walked towards the conference room.

Han Chuning: “Do you need me to accompany you?”

Xiao Cheng glared at Han Chuning. She thought that the other party was really inconsiderate and said, “You can just wait here. After all, it’s the company’s business.”

Han Chuning turned a deaf ear to Xiao Cheng’s words. She stared at Chu Xiaxing, waiting for her answer.

Chu Xiaxing: “No need.”

Han Chuning muttered, “Oh, then you go and come back quickly. Else, I’ll call the police…”

Chu Xiaxing didn’t answer. She had already opened the glass door of the meeting room. She was here to talk with Mr. Xia in detail, so she closed the door in one smooth motion.

Xiao Cheng smiled and mocked her, “The walls of the conference room are transparent. What can she do?” Besides, wasn’t it a little too late for Chu Xiaxing to pretend to be pure now? Who didn’t know her relationship with the rich master?

Han Chuning was taken aback. She explained, “No, she tends to flare up suddenly. I am afraid that your General Manager Xia is going to be mistreated.”

Xiao Cheng: “?”

Han Chuning was not worried about Chu Xiaxing. Her great aunt was a woman who had been in the army and was deployed to Tibet. She had seen her fair share of beasts in the Tibetan area back then. Her insight and experience far exceeded that of youngsters. Now that Chu Xiaxing had a young body, it would be good if she didn’t rip Xia Hong’s head off. How could he do something to her?

Xia Hong’s actions were unlike a decent person. If he had a dirty mouth and lustful intentions on Chu Xiaxing, she was afraid that blood would be spilled on the spot.

Han Chuning thoughtfully said, “Anyway, she’s a woman who went to Tibet and beat wolves. The pervert should not be as powerful as a wild wolf.”

Xiao Chen: “…”
