“Rosena?”

Yerhan quietly called out to Rosena.

Rosena came to her senses and looked up. Then he asked cautiously, as if surprised.

“What did you think?”

“Oh, it’s just… I was mesmerized by the beauty.”

“…Is that so?”

Rosena took a look around to change the subject. Now is the peak season for people to come to the sea, but only a few people were seen.

“By the way there aren’t many people.”

“It’s a little far from the coast where a lot of people go.”

Rosena nodded, convinced.

“Mom, I want to soak my feet.”

Illian said so while holding Rosena’s hand tightly. Rosena went to the sea as Illian had asked her to do.

As she lifted the hem of the dress slightly, the sea water reached her knees. As the cold sea water touched his feet, Illian grinned.

Playing in the water with Rosena seemed like a lot of fun.

Yerhan watched the scene of Rosena playing in the water with Illian. It was as if he wanted to capture each scene in his eyes.

Rosena, who was playing with her feet, asked as she stepped on the sand.

“Have you been to the sea a lot?”

“This is my first time coming here personally.”

Yerhan slowly lowered his gaze and bent his knees. Then he took a towel from his bag and wiped Rosena’s feet.

As the soft towel touched her feet, Rosena’s face turned red.

“I can wipe it myself…”

“It’s hard to balance.”

Yerhan, who answered leisurely, put her shoes on.

Yerhan even bowed down and thoroughly wiped Illian’s feet.

“I heard from Isaac that when you come to the sea, you should leave your name.”

“Really? I’ve never heard of it.”

Rosena tilted her head and watched Yerhan do something.

Yerhan wrote Rosena’s name in the sand. Then he wrote his name next to it, and finally, engraved Illian’s name.

When three names were left in the middle of the white sand, Rosena couldn’t take her eyes off.

The names of the three people engraved side by side seemed to say that they were really family.

The warm breeze from the sea penetrated into her heart.

Rosena gazed at the names for a long time, until the waves came in and it was erased.

***

When the setting sun turned the water red, the three of them got out of the sea.

It was a pity to leave like this, but they decided to sleep here today and come back again early tomorrow morning.

As they entered the village in a carriage and came out of the busy street. She thought the village would be small because it was a quiet sea, but it was unexpectedly large.

Each store had an impressive sign, and each house had a five-colored lamp.

Rosena couldn’t take her eyes off the window as colorful lights embroidered the streets. She thought the sea during the day was beautiful, but the village at night was also gorgeous.

Rosena muttered to herself as she saw a lot of people walking around every street.

“There’s a lot of people.”

“I heard it’s a festival.”

So yes, Rosena was convinced. Rosena looked down at Illian, wondering if she’d take a look. But Illian was dozing off, perhaps because he played hard during the day.

Rosena touched Illian’s cheek with a disappointed look.

“We need to go straight into the inn.”

Yerhan, who was looking at the scene, told the horseman to go to the inn.

The carriage moved along the main road to a place where many inns gathered. There were quite a few luxury inns, probably because nobles often come for a vacation.

Yerhan stopped the carriage at the most decent inn and held Illian.

Illian slept so deeply that he didn’t even think to wake him up.

Yerhan booked all the rooms on the top floor just like yesterday.

Rosena, who was standing next to him, looked at him in surprise, and he answered calmly.

“Even the escort knights need a place to rest, and they can prepare for possible threats.”

It was a pity, but she had to accept it. He had lived quietly in the Prince Palace, often forgotten, but somehow he is still an imperial family member. Even if few people recognized him, it was right to be careful.

Yerhan climbed to the top floor and opened the door at the end. Then he put the fast asleep Illian down on the bed.

Yerhan, who pulled the quilt up to Illian’s chest, told Rosena.

“Would you like to leave for a moment?”

“What?”

“It’s such a long-awaited festival, so I thought it would be nice to see it.”

Rosena’s eyes shook briefly.

While riding the carriage earlier, she thought that she would like to go to a festival.

“But Illian…”

Rosena looked down at the sleeping Illian and blurred her words. Then Yerhan immediately turned his head toward the hallway.

“Isaac.”

At Yerhan’s call, Isaac, who was standing in the hallway, appeared.

“Please look after Illian.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Yerhan looked at Rosena as if everything was settled.

Rosena hesitated for a moment. She rationalized that this trip was for Illian, so if she goes without Illian, the meaning fades.

And she was supposed to keep a certain distance from Yerhan….

But she really wanted to go to the festival because it had been a while since she saw it.

Rosena followed Yerhan after hesitation. A day or so, everything will be fine. He was just accompanying her because she wanted to see the festival.

“Would you like to take the carriage?”

“No. It’s close anyway, so I’ll walk.”

The road on the downtown side seemed narrow from what she saw earlier. It would have been inconvenient to drive a carriage.

And she wanted to walk as if taking a leisurely stroll in the breeze by the beach.

Rosena and Yerhan walked down the street without a word.

It was quiet because it was a place where inns were gathered, but the lantern hanging on the road was pretty, so she was busy looking at it.

“You must have been busy, but thank you for bringing me here.”

“No, I had fun, too.”

It was the first time Rosena and Yerhan had left their busy lives and traveled so far.

The lights were getting brighter, and the streets were crowded with people. Rosena looked around in admiration.

There were many things to see on the street where the festival took place, and it was all amazing.

Rosena felt as if she had returned to being a child.

After becoming pregnant with Illian, she gave up a lot to live as a mother. But today, it seemed like it would be okay to be a child.

“……”

Yerhan stared at Rosena’s excited face. Her twinkling eyes looked like the sea they had seen in the daytime.

Seeing how Rosena liked it, Yerhan also felt better.

Yerhan looked around, wondering if she might bump into others.

Then, as the excited Rosena moved forward, Yeerhan reflexively grabbed her wrist.

Surprised, Rosena opened her eyes wide and looked at Yerhan.

“….I’m afraid you’ll get lost.”

Upon Yerhan’s words, Rosena lowered her eyes. The wrist he held was as hot as if it had been burned. It felt like her pulse was pounding from her wrist and then rushing to her chest.

Rosena knew she couldn’t walk around with her wrist caught. But she couldn’t even tell him that she’d grab the hem of his robe instead.

Rosena took a deep breath. And she said like she had made a very big decision.

“Hold, my hand.”

Yerhan stopped at once and looked at Rosena.

His face was strange, as if he had heard a huge request. It was an expression that was indescribable.

Yerhan, who was hesitating, took Rosena’s hand very carefully.

Their fingers were tightly tied together. Her hands were itchy for some reason. It was as if she could hear the sound she heard on the beach during the day from below her chest.

Rosena muttered inwardly, that it’s because it’ll become troublesome if she gets lost.

Rosena and Yerhan held hands and went to see the festival in earnest.

Because there were so many people, it was not possible to take a leisurely tour, but it was more fun because of the festive atmosphere.

Rosena, who grew up in aristocracy, could not wander around late at night like the commoners.

Since her father’s death, the restrictions had been reduced a little, but she couldn’t play because she was busy making money at the time.

Rosena was in a dilemma about what to look at first. Numerous merchants soliciting goods were lined up at the stands.

Listening to voices from various stalls, Rosena moved on. Things she had never seen before were placed on the stalls, so it was fun to look around.

The merchants who came to the festival were especially selling a lot of ornaments.

Their main customer base was the commoners, so there were many crude ornaments made of gemstones or glass.

Rosena was not very interested in jewelry, so she was satisfied just looking around.

“It’s a bracelet that I learned from the Astanian and I made it myself!”

Rosena stopped at those words and unknowingly approached the stall.

“Oh, welcome.”

With the merchant’s greeting, Rosena glanced through the bracelets one by one.

As if it was true that the technique used to make the bracelet was learned from the Astanians, it indeed looked like what Rosena often saw in Astania.

“Do you want one?”

After seeing Rosena looking at it for a while, Yerhan asked.

Rosena hesitated for a moment. It was nice to see it after a long time, but she didn’t bring a lot of money because she came out with the intention of only looking around.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t spend money recklessly.

“It would be perfect for the two of you to wear it together. You are a couple, aren’t you?”

Yerhan responded with a light grunt as if he didn’t mind listening to the merchant.

Yerhan, along with the merchant, encouraged Rosena.

“Why don’t we buy three, including one for Illian?”

“If you buy it now, I’ll engrave your name.”

“Uh…”

Rosena’s mind began to shake like a reed as the two began to persuade.

“We’ve come all the way here, so think of it as a souvenir.”

“….How much is it?”

Rosena asked the merchant.

“It’s 3 fleurs per unit.”

Rosena was surprised at hearing a higher price than she expected. It was quite a lot of money for Rosena, who maintained a frugal life even after becoming a prince’s wife.

“Give me three.”

Yerhan had already taken out the money before Rosenna could make a decision.

The merchant’s eyes widened as a large, shiny gold coin was presented.

Yerhan shook his head to signify that he didn’t need the change. The merchant’s mouth was torn open.

“Oh, I’ll do it right away!”

Rosena looked up at Yerhan in surprise.

“You don’t have to worry about money.”

Yerhan replied calmly. Rosena realized that his and her own economic ideas were different.

Still, it’s the money he earned from working hard at hunting far away…

“From now on, accept the change.”

Yerhan smiled at Rosena’s muttering. Yerhan accepted Rosena’s misunderstanding sweetly and replied that he would do so.

“Excuse me, can you tell me your name then? I will engrave it right away.”

Yerhan only gave his first name.

After a while, the merchant engraved the name on the bracelet and handed it over. The name was inscribed on the center of the bracelet made of leather of two colors.

Rosena looked at it for a long time.

“I will put it on you.”

As Rosena carefully reached out her wrist, Yerhan put on the bracelet. The red leather on the white cuffs made it stand out even more.

Rosena, who was turning her wrist around and looking at it, opened her mouth as if she had forgotten something.

“Will you extend your arm?”

Yerhan politely extended his arm. His wrists were so thick that they could not be compared with Rosena’s wrists, and the tendons were prominent.

Rosena, who was looking at the muscles of the arm that stretched from the wrist, hurriedly put on the bracelet.

Finally, a leather bracelet identical to Rosena was placed on his arm.

“……”

Just the fact that they had the same thing on their bodies made her feel strange.

Rosena, who was looking at Yerhan’s bracelet, barely took her eyes away.

“Let’s take a look at other things.”

Led by Rosena, Yerhan fidgeted with the bracelet and stepped out together.

As they entered the alley, the delicious smell wafted everywhere.

Food stalls were lined up on either side.

People were walking around holding food one by one in their hands.

When she smelled the delicious smell, she naturally felt hungry.

Rosena realized she hadn’t even had dinner yet.

Rosena’s gaze naturally turned, and Yerhan asked.

“Aren’t you hungry?”

Rosena was about to say she wasn’t hungry as a habit, but she decided to be honest.

“A little…”

After hearing Rosena’s answer, Yerhan told her to sit down for a while and immediately headed toward the stall.

After Rosena sat on the chair for a while, Yerhan approached him with all kinds of food in his hands.

It seemed too much for the two of them to eat. Looking at what he had brought one by one, they all consisted of Rosenla’s favorite dishes.

Yerhan sat down next to Rosena. He opened a napkin, probably from the store, and placed it on Rosena’s knees.

“….Thank you.”

“Please dig in.”

Rosena ate the food that Yerhan gave her. Perhaps because it was a seaside village, the proportion of seafood was overwhelmingly high.

Rosena opened her eyes wide after having a bite of grilled shrimp and seasoned food.

It was tastier than most restaurants.

“It’s delicious!”

Yerhan laughed at Rosena’s expression of admiration. Rosena, who was hungry, ate more quickly than usual.

She was surprised that some dishes suit her taste.

Yerhan, who was watching Rosena eat, also ate.

Even though they were eating on an outdoor bench, he looked elegant.

Yerhan raised his head and met Rosena’s gaze, who had been watching him for a while.

Blue eyes that stood out even in the dark turned to Rosena.

Suddenly, Yerhan’s fingers reached out towards Rosena’s face.

Rosena reflexively closed her eyes. Then his finger gently stroked Rosena’s lips.

“It got on the side.”

As she slowly opened her eyes, she saw Yerhan’s side profile, as he turned his head as if nothing had happened.

Rosena stopped all actions and looked at his face.

The noise around them faded away, and the sound that she had been hearing from before was getting louder.

A buzzing sound spread like a sea conch had been put to her ears.

Rosena bit her lips. She wanted to cover this feeling which started to spark little by little with sand.

But every time he covered it, it came back to life persistently, shaking Rosena.

After the meal, the two tidied up.

Yerhan was away for a very short time and returned and offered a fruit candy to Rosena.

The fruit candy that was hardened with sugar water was sparkling like a jewel.

Rosena took a bite of the fruit candy. Sweetness followed by sourness. This was the first time she tried a dessert like this, so Rosena finished one right away.

“I guess you like it.”

Yerhan, who was watching Rosena, smiled slightly. When Rosena made a shy expression, he bought two more fruit candies.

With fruit candy in both hands, Rosena felt like she had everything.

The two began to watch the festival again in order to digest.

“Come on! Attention everyone!”

At the invitation of a merchant with an unusually loud voice, those walking down the street stopped their steps and threw their gazes.

What the merchant was promoting was the game of darts.

Numbers were written on a large wooden board, and the number increased as it got closer to the central dot.

As there were several challengers before, there were quite a few onlookers.

Rosena looked at the items on display. The low-scoring zone was filled with poor products such as shell necklaces. And the higher the score, the more attractive products were prepared.

Rosena’s gaze, who was lightly scanning the products, stopped.

“That…”

What caught Rosena’s eyes was a small music box.

“A music box made of gold for those who get a perfect score!”

At the call of the merchant who was soliciting hard, the people roared.

If it was that size, just selling it would make quite a bit of money.

But for Rosena, it wasn’t just a music box made of gold.

It was obviously the music box that her father played when he came to her room when she was young.

Rosena clearly remembered it up to the name of the craftsman engraved on the bottom of the music box.

She never imagined that she would see the stuff that was sold when the family was in trouble here…
