Chapter 44 – Xichi Mountain Cave (2)
Long San was still smiling as he gently lifted the hair that was covering her face and kissed her on the cheek.
“Alright, I’ll find something for my precious wife to eat.”
The intimacy of his tone made Fengning blush and she turned over to cover her head with his robe. Long San got up then quickly cleaned himself and put on his clothes. He went out to hunt and returned with two wild pheasants and a hare. After killing and cleaning them in the lake outside, he came back to the cave and set them to grill on the fire.
Fengning stole a peek and watched him as he fished her clothes out of the hot spring pool then blushed when she recalled what happened the night before.
When Long San turned around, he caught her staring and smiled at her.
“Your clothes need to be dried before we can leave.”
Fengning humphed and scolded. “Scoundrel!”
Long San smiled again. After arranging her clothes next to the fire to dry, he walked over to pick her up.
“I’m the scoundrel and you’re the scoundrel’s wife.”
“It doesn’t count since you said it.” She refused to let him have his wish.
“Then whose words will count?” This time, he had turned back to an elegant gentleman.
“It will only count if I say it.”
“Under what circumstances will you agree to it?”
They were already man and wife in the true sense and it was considered that half of his mind was set at ease and as for the rest, he has the patience to work on it with her.
“Mm…….” Fengning thought about it and finally found an excuse.

Long San hugged her and carried her to the rock. He kissed her tenderly and then said meaningfully and softly. “I promise I’ll only hurt you that one time. It won’t happen again in the future.”
When Fengning heard, she blushed.
“Who wants to follow you in the future? This time, it was because you were poisoned that I…….I gave my body to save you. It doesn’t mean that we can do that in the future. You can’t do that to me again.”

After taking over the roasted meat, she gnawed on it happily while Long San was busy helping her to roll up her sleeves, adjusted her lapels, and arranged her hair so that she would not get dirty. While she was being served, she expressed her disdain.
“Long San, your roasted meat is tasteless.”
“Wife, just bear with it. There’s no salt or seasoning in this barren mountain. After we have gone down the mountain, I’ll take you to eat delicious food.”

After that Fengning put on her clothes that were dried and combed her hair with the small wooden comb that was used by Long San in the past. When Long San stared at her with his fiery eyes from the side, she began to blush and covered his eyes with her hand. With a smile, he pulled her hand away and kissed it. Fengning turned her back to him and continued to comb her hair but he also turned to face her and continued to watch. Feeling annoyed, she simply threw away the comb and aimed her fist at him.
The timing is just right! After a meal, she has enough strength to teach this rascal a lesson!
Long San laughed and leaped away to dodge. She refused to give up and attacked again but he raised his arm to block and the two people started to fight in the cave.
The more she fought, the more Fengning looked happy and Long San entertained her by exchanging several moves with her. As they fought and fought, they became entangled once again. Long San hugged her and refused to let go. While she was biting his ear, he tripped her then both of them fell and rolled on the big rock.
As they rolled and bit each other, the clothes they were wearing were taken off again. Fengning softened under his lips and no longer had the fierce energy she showed initially. The two people merged to form a fiery mass with their limbs entangled. Her legs were hung on his arms and her hands were stroking his firm back muscles that were rising and falling with his movements. In her blurry mind, she was thinking that Long San did as he had promised and did not hurt her anymore…….
Fengning slept on the rock again and it was afternoon by the time she woke up. She quickly cleaned up and urged Long San to go down the mountain. There was love and smiles in their eyes and they felt so close as though they had become one person.
However, before this sweet feeling had passed, both of them became unhappy when they argued halfway down the mountain.
The reason was that Fengning wanted to return to see Bao’er immediately but Long San insisted on meeting up with his friends who had gathered together to rescue him and to thank them first before leaving.
At the same time, the matter regarding Biyun Palace has to be settled before they can leave.
