Haruka deeply sighed and nodded. "Yeah. Not too long after what happened at the conference, she got into a car accident. She was hospitalized for a while due to that poison. So I don't understand how she managed to get her car keys and drive. A car collided into hers, and she barely survived."
"She was disfigured?"
"Yeah. How do you..."
"I'm sorry Haruka, can you pass me my phone for a second and leave the room?"

Lila didn't misread the message at all. She recognized the evil smiley face that a certain someone liked to use when he was threatening them. Her hands trembled due to anger when she saw it. When she first found out that Aizawa Mei was in this hospital. Lila didn't think much of it. After all the poison Haruka gave Aizawa was lethal, only a good hospital like this one can treat her.
She immediately clicked on a familiar number. But even after a few minutes, he didn't pick up. Lila knew he was doing it deliberately to tease her. Just as she was about to give up, the person picked up.

"Then, it wasn't you?" Lila mumbled. Who else would drive into Aizawa Mei's car?
"If you're talking about Aizawa Mei's accident, it was Sophia, not me."
Sophia? But, isn't that even stranger? Sophia would have even less of a reason to target Aizawa Mei.
"Still, why are you messing with me?" On her first day in the hospital, somebody delivered a thousand roses to her. The following days, it was different items. Each time there was ten more than before.
The man on the other end seemed incredibly amused. Soichiro was laughing.
"Quit it! I know it's you."
"Did you think I'm still in the country?"
Lila knew he was going on a trip; that's why when Haruka first said the story, she wasn't sure.
"Did you get someone to spy on me?" Lila asked.
Soichiro laughs, "Are you kidding? I don't have to do that; my people are always watching you."
At that comment, Lila shuddered. Why is this guy so creepy even now? "So, for the past ten months, you've had people spying on me?"
"Why are you so surprised? Haven't you noticed that you're a target for those envious and malicious girls?"
"I know that, and that's why I'm dealing with it."
"If I leave it to you, you'll die."
"Soichiro," Lila said sharply. "I know you're concerned. But this really is none of your business. You have to draw a line somewhere. I understand that you've been helping me this entire time. But..."
"Even if you refuse me, Lila, I'll keep helping you."
A deep sigh passed her lips. She supposes it can't be helped. Ever since the start of her journey, Soichiro has been more stubborn than usual.

Kiryu watched as Aizawa tried to kiss Haruka, but Haruka was casually moving away from her. Haruka asked him for a favor. 'Please come with me, just in case she uses some kind of trick.'
"Haruka, why won't you let me kiss you?" Mei said the girl was quite upset.
"Mei," Haruka said gently. "I thought you understood. I can still help you with your daily life; you don't have anybody to rely on after all. As your friend, though, there are limits to the things I can do for you."

Hearing this, though, Kiryu understood it now. Nothing is going on between these two. However, the current Aizawa Mei resembles the Haruka of the past. He sees himself in her, and that's why he is helping her out despite everything.
"Wait here, I'll go fetch the nurse," Haruka said.
Kiryu awkwardly stood in the corner of the room. When Aizawa Mei suddenly got up, the girl immediately staggered forward. Kiryu watched her for a bit before he made his way over and pulled her back up. To his surprise, the girl wrapped her arms around his neck. "Say, before Haruka comes back. Why don't we have some fun?"
For a moment, his brain went black; he couldn't register what the girl was saying at all. Kiryu, however, regained his composure and pulled her away from him. "Aren't you supposed to like Haruka? Quit messing around."
"I do love Haruka. But he won't touch me, and I'm so tired already. I just want somebody to hold me."
These kinds of words, Kiryu has heard them plenty of times from other girls. Mei suddenly started to remove her clothes. Kiryu reached out to stop her, but right at that moment, Mei screamed.
