Chapter 6.2:

Serpence sat down while accepting the greetings of the nobles who came up to him, as for me, I said nothing.

 “·····”.

Serpence slept only four hours a day since he was young, but he was one fist taller than Zion, who was approximately 170. But now, I can see the top of Serpence’s head.

‘I see, the aide doesn’t have a seat. I’ve got to stand up, damn it!’

As the meeting started, unfamiliar topics were mentioned, ‘Who am I, where am I?’ was the state I was in. Other thoughts I have should be saved for now, it’s not the time to think about other things.

I tried to take notes if there seemed to be something important, but I had no idea what was actually important at all. A middle-aged nobleman, who has a nicely grown mustache, was arguing by himself, while cutting and stopping everyone else’s words.

‘Is this obstruction? Obstructing legal proceedings?’

Er, what do I know? The capable Serpence will take care of everything.

The other aides wanted to watch, so they were rolling their eyes here and there, being careful not to turn their heads to the point that they were seen obviously watching.

And I was sure that I could watch and play without guilt too.

There were aides who frantically jotted down the contents of the meeting, but they were very few. Most of the aides were dumbfounded, scribbling while pretending to take notes, and others pretended to read diligently what they jotted down with a book that seemed suspicious, pretending it to be a notebook.

‘What is that, I envy them! Are they genius?’

Serpence said If I ever needed anything on the job, he always wanted me to tell him. Would he accept getting something like that for me? Is the equipment handled by them? By the way, is the job that an aide does have troubles like this, or is this only during meetings?

 – Kwaang-!

‘Mom, how scary! What, all of a sudden?’

I was startled by the sudden roar, I flinched in surprise, then looked in the direction of the sound to see a fat old man standing on the table.

‘Isn’t it exactly the same scene you see on TV? Even the body shape.’

Standing proudly holding a document in one hand, his momentum was not less than that of a rider at the forefront of the battlefield. The only difference is that, unlike the rider who never misses the flag, he threw his papers at the face of the mustache nobleman? I don’t think that’s legal.

There is nobleman here, so I wondered if he could do that. I looked around and no one was actually surprised. Rather, an aide, who was taking notes like crazy, closed his notebook and was in a perfect spectator stance.

‘That’s right, is this the big fun of the advisory council? No, is this a routine?’

Yes, even in the original world, except for a few countries such as the United States and England, everyone fights. There’s no difference here.

With this in mind, the first thing I have to do is stand on the table and cheer for the lawmaker who will implement justice. It’s my first time watching a real martial arts match, so I’m very excited!

With that, the meeting proceeded without a break. They really have great stamina.

The lawmaker I was cheering for seemed to have taken the lead in the fight by occupying the high ground. However, saying that another nobleman was right, he was eventually dragged down by the other nobles and died fiercely.

‘But that doesn’t mean he’s really dead.’

He rested in a safe zone, led by the hand of his accustomed aide, who pulled him out of the crowd. Although he was defeated, he seemed to have no regrets about the battle that he got burned in.

Even in the midst of this chaos, no one picked a fight with Serpence.

Rather, moderate lawmakers who did not want to be swept up in a fight, and aides who had lost their superiors in the crowd, crept near him. Lee, who had been defeated in battle, was also led by his aide.

‘Is it some sort of sanctuary?’

Yes. This is the safe zone I mentioned earlier.

Angry nobles showed white light, and even in the midst of this, the white light did not reach Serpence’s body. But he is probably the only one who is white on the outside and black on the inside!

I suddenly remembered the poem that I memorized when I was in school, so I tried reciting it at will. Didn’t it fit the situation well?

The one-hour meeting and the two-hour battle ended when the Duke of Argento declared that the meeting was over. There were no winners. However, those who remained on the battlefield until the end were all satisfied as if they had completed a marathon.

They brushed off the dust on their bodies and exchanged good wishes. Some nobles who appeared to have divine power healed the nobles’ noses that were bleeding after being hit by a flying fist. It’s as if they had reached the finals in a sports-themed boy cartoon about sports, where they shook hands, and made friendships regardless of victory or defeat. I don’t know if I should be moved or shocked in this situation.

 “Then let’s go back.”

 “Yeah?!”

That’s it? The final boss came to the Imperial Palace and only watched the martial arts before returning?

In response to my disbelief, Serpence looked at me with eyes that were asking what’s wrong.

“Oh, no. I wonder if you’re not going to heal them.”

There were also other standing members in priest’s uniforms, but neither they nor Serpence seemed to have any intention of treating them. Apart from the priests, didn’t Serpence help injured people, no matter how big or small their pain was?

 “That’s a little…”

 Serpence said with a smile.

‘Well, this seems like a problem…’

It’s ridiculous for nobles to have dog-like fights in the Imperial Palace, I guess it seems more strange to see other people running around in this wide area to heal them. Is that what a sane person would think? Psychopath.

From what I heard while returning in the carriage, it’s not always like today.

When there is an important agenda to discuss, do they have a proper meeting with an extension?

“But why is it like that?”

“Before I started attending, It was in that state.”

It sounds like you don’t know.

‘Wow, it’s a mess relating to history and tradition!’

In any case, it seems unlikely that an important agenda will be discussed often. I can think of it as coming to the Imperial Palace to watch martial arts once every few days.
