Chapter 7.2:

After I finished eating and went up to the office, I found that Serpence had arrived first.

 “Am I a little late?”

“No, you can have a leisurely meal.”

So you’re saying we might need to hurry up for something else?

I don’t know why Serpence sounds like he’s sarcastic about everything he says.  Is this the effect of the round glass he’s wearing.

 “Ah, yes, yes. Thank you.”

“Today, all you need to do is process the documents on the desk over there.”

Serpence smiled and pointed at the desk far away from his seat. No matter how large the room is, there’s obviously a need to keep them apart. I have a reasonable doubt that there are a lot of documents that he has to hide and take care of.

 “Fufufufu.”

Serpence laughed. It sounded like jade beads rolling on a silver tray, and it sounded like laughter with a sweet tone. Pulling out the chair, I turned my gaze to him.

The sight of him smiling in the sunlight that’s pouring out through the window is  very beautiful and looks sacred. Unknowingly, I swallowed my saliva and said, ‘Ummm.’

 ‘The desk layout is crazy!’

The sparkling guy is shining even more with a halo, it’s really not a joke. It must have been that Serpence was deliberately aiming to place the desk here. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to get such a perfect angle. If I had been a member of the Luxmea Church, after I see this scene, I would immediately start praying.

 “Why are you laughing?”

“Oh, I just remembered a funny story.”

Oh, did you? Well, we saw a fun martial arts game earlier.

“I heard that you’ve already become close with everyone. You’re very sociable.”

I just came up right after eating, when did that kind of thing even reach Serpence’s ears?

This mansion is in the palm of Serpence! It’s scary, very scary.

“This is the story I heard from the butler. There is no need to be vigilant as it was not monitored.”

“I’m not vigilant, I just thought that the delivery is quick!”

I quickly waved my hands, but Serpence smiled knowingly.

 Sharp child.

“Well, I told him It’s okay, but it’s because Hans is a very loyal person that he reports these things to me.”

 “I see.”

Serpence said that with a smile as if he’s troubled. That, that! Can you see how he’s putting Hans on the line? He’s a very smart guy.

“If you’re offended, I will tell him not to do that.”

 “No, you don’t have to.”

He said that he would talk to him in words, at least in words, and in the end, it was obvious that the whole story would end up in Serpence’s ears. If that’s the case, it would be better if I could figure out what is said about me. On purpose, I smiled and sat down as if nothing happened.

I rummaged through the documents and got a rough idea of what to do.

I was worried in my heart that there would be a catastrophe in which I had to ask Serpence for help. Fortunately, it was only contents that could be handled sufficiently with the knowledge that Zion had.

‘Did you consider it my first day, or did you leave out all the sensitive content and give me the rest?’

Serpence’s pile of documents is incomparable with the ones on my desk. Why is it like this?

In the meantime, his hands were busy, moving fast.

‘Yes, work hard and take all my documents!’

After looking through the documents for a while, I heard a knock outside the door.

As soon as Serpence’s permission was granted, a maid with a teapot and a tray with two teacups on it came in.

Although it must have been heavy, she held the tray with one hand, opened the door with the other one, then closed the door again, and held the tray with both hands.

After the maid poured tea to Serpence and me, I lowered my head slightly and putted my mouth on the teacup, looking at the maids back as she walked out without a word.

Well, looking at the red color, I don’t think it’s black tea, but I can’t tell for sure.

‘I heard somewhere that a properly made tea can’t compare to a normal person’s tea. What’s the difference between them?’

Is it because I don’t know about tea well? I don’t know! I really can’t tell the difference from the taste of the tea bag that my sister had before.

“I don’t know what kind of tea you like, but I prepared the same thing as what I drink. How is it?”

Are you saying that if I ask for another tea, you will prepare it separately? Or are you trying to get something that will suit my taste?

Like before, if I needed anything during work, you asked me to speak directly to you.

 ‘Does he usually do this?’

I’ll just tell the butler and leave it alone, why would he care about that?

I’m not sure about the noble etiquette of this world, but when I trace the information left on Zion’s body, it seems quite unusual.

‘Can’t I just drink the tea as it is given to me?’

Maybe it’s because I’m not interested in tea.  Anyway, the kindness is too much.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

 “Oh, no.”

Serpence tilted his head and asked, wondering.

“Drink well, eat well, wrap well. Ah!!”

“Hahaha. If you need anything other than tea, please let me know.”

Serpence smiled kindly, and laughed, he responded to my slip of the tongue as if it was funny. The laughter echoed softly and clearly. A person like that later laughed and said,

『“Is it a lot of pain? I’m happy seeing you suffer. So, I want it to be even more painful.” 』

You said almost the same thing?

I was tormented by the sense of separation.

“Then why are you being so kind to me?”

“It’s normal. I’m not particularly concerned about Lord Rivelon.”

“I mean, why is that normal?”

Unlike me, who had completely taken my hands off the documents, his hand, which continued to play with the pen while talking, stopped.

Serpence looked down at the documents and then turned to me. As if trying to understand the intent of my words, carefully.

“So, the question is, usually there isn’t a case of taking care of subordinates like this, right?”

At my words, Serpence’s expression became serious. It is the most serious face I saw of yesterday and today. Serpence’s lips parted slightly, and then met again. He looked like he was choosing his words for a while. Then, he opened his mouth with an expression of determination.

“Lord Rivelon’s tastes, uhm. I’ll try my best to respect them. But I think it’s going to be hard, I’m sorry.”

 Yeah? What do you mean?
