After another day of expedited voyages, the Capital Planet finally appeared before them.

“The patrols have been strengthened again. These are all private troops raised by An Xei, and I reckon they’ve all been controlled by the Ning family’s medicines,” Imperial High Advisor said, frowning as he looked at the tightly guarded perimeter on the star map. “I didn’t expect An Xei to be this cautious. Sneaking in unnoticed is going to be incredibly difficult.”

Chu Rong also frowned. Of course, he understood what the red marks on the star map represented.

“Do you mean we should avoid these detection devices?” Qiao Zhiya suddenly spoke up. When Chu Rong looked over, he extended a finger and gathered a bit of magic, saying, “Perhaps I can give it a try.”

He had leveled up and had ample magic reserves. It should not be too difficult to protect this small warship from detection.

Chu Rong’s face turned black and he took his hand.

Imperial High Advisor’s eyes flickered as he carefully sensed the soothing energy Qiao Zhiya had just released. He felt a vague sense of confusion, but excitement couldn’t be concealed. Such an affable energy – Qiao Zhiya was indeed of the same kin as him.

“Let me give it a try,” Qiao Zhiya looked at Chu Rong and assured him, “I’ll be fine. You can stand by my side. You don’t want An Xei to keep causing trouble, do you?”

Chu Rong tightened his grip on his hand, glanced at the others in the control room, then, with a serious expression, bent down and lifted him up, carrying him to the lounge next door.

Fifteen minutes later, Chu Rong returned with an even more grim expression. Qiao Zhiya smiled apologetically to everyone, then sat down in a corner, drank a dose of Yellow Leaf Tree potion, and closed his eyes, silently spreading his power.

Chu Rong sat next to him, and surrounded him with his own spiritual power, his expression was still as grim as ever.

The crowd noticed the situation and did not want to disturb them. They turned their attention to the star map.

The wood-elemental magic slowly spread out and wrapped the warship whole. At the same time, the icon representing the warship on the star map suddenly disappeared.

Fan Xiangnan and the others realized that Qiao Zhiya’s actions must be very energy-consuming. They quickly suppressed their astonishment and brought the Imperial High Advisor back to focus. Following his guidance, they directed the warship towards a weakly defended area of the Imperial army.

Passing through several layers of tight security without incident, they then followed occasional guidance from Qiao Zhiya to circumvent all hidden checkpoints. The warship eventually landed safely in a remote valley on the Capital Planet.

After confirming that there was nobody around, Qiao Zhiya slowly withdrew his strength and then obediently fell into Chu Rong’s arms.

Chu Rong realized that Qiao Zhiya must be nearing exhaustion, so he quickly carried him back to the lounge. He first brought out a large pile of emerald jades to help replenish his magic power, then fed him a dose of medicine, and finally settled him down to rest.

In the Capital Planet, it was nearing dawn. Fan Xiangnan contacted Neitaxi, and confirmed that the General would need another two days to reach the Capital Planet. Seeing the situation, they decided to take a rest for the day.

At night, after everyone had rested and recovered their spirits, they stowed away the warship. Under cover of darkness, they brought out hover cars and headed towards the administrative center where the Imperial Palace was located. Their first destination was An Xei’s prince estate, where they planned to capture Elder Ning to prevent him from escaping at the first sign of trouble the next day.

Chu Rong was only accompanied by Fan Xiangnan, Qiao Zhiya, and a soldier specializing in disguise.

Although he didn’t want Qiao Zhiya to take risks, reason told him that taking Qiao Zhiya along was the right choice. The youth had special powers, and moreover, Qiao Zhiya wasn’t as weak as he appeared on the surface. On the contrary, he was powerful and capable of protecting others well.

Relying on the power of Qiao Zhiya to help them avoid any detection, they all sneaked into the An Xei’s prince estate, and approached the villa where the Ning family lived.

Worried that the Ning family’s special spiritual power users might detect Qiao Zhiya’s abilities, Chu Rong instructed Fan Xiangnan to stay with Qiao Zhiya in a secluded corner while he, accompanied by the disguise specialist, entered the villa.

Qiao Zhiya, who was undertaking such a task for the first time, appeared somewhat nervous. Fan Xiangnan initially thought he might make mistakes but was surprised by his unexpected calmness and composure. Qiao Zhiya’s ability to conceal his presence was even faster than that of someone trained like Fan Xiangnan.

About half an hour later, Chu Rong emerged, carrying the unconscious Elder Ning on his back. The disguise specialist didn’t follow him out; he would remain behind to pose as Elder Ning and stabilize the situation.

When the task was completed, the people left the prince estate in the same way and went to the security base arranged by the Imperial High Advisor.

Meanwhile, in the Imperial Palace, An Xei waved his subordinates and connected a communication from a special channel.

“Still haven’t found that puppet?” A strange, elderly voice came through the communicator, accompanied by the background noise of Zergs’ hisses and eerie howls, creating a chilling atmosphere.

Upon hearing this voice, An Xei immediately straightened up. Even though he knew the other party couldn’t see him, he still showed a respectful demeanor as he replied, “Yes, according to my speculation, that puppet should have gotten lost in the asteroid belt. But rest assured, the situation is still under control. I will quickly find another puppet to serve you.”

“Good.”

The elderly voice chuckled mysteriously, then fell silent for a while before continuing, “I’ve given you so many little pets, created so many helpers for you, yet you’re still such a waste… The Ning family is, and so are you. Perhaps I chose the wrong servant from the beginning.”

Although the words were casually spoken, An Xei’s face showed a pained expression, his forehead covered in cold sweat. Yet he dared not touch it, only managing to say, “I apologize. Please, give me another chance.”

There was no reply for a while. But then, the elderly voice suddenly eased, sighing, “No more.”

The pain in An Xei’s face abated immediately.

“Over the years, I’ve watched you grow up since your childhood, so I have some attachment to you… I need new food supplies, send some over. As for those people from the Ning family, kill them all. They’re all useless. I’ll find you other helpers.”

The communication ended, and An Xei slumped in his chair, taking some time to calm the fear and oppression he felt from contacting the Elder1original: 老人/laoren. . He raised his hand to his forehead, rubbing it, before standing up again. He quickly regained his usual demeanor and dialed a number, ordering, “Dispose of the third batch of experimental subjects.”

After arranging what the Elder told him to, he looked around the golden but empty palace hall with a satisfied smile on his face.

After tomorrow, the last annoying pests of the Empire will also disappear. He will slowly catch those escaped insects and crush them all. Then, it will be the turn of those self-righteous fools from the Federation. Everyone will pay the price for their past disdain towards him. In the end, the Blue Galaxy will have only one king to rule them all.

At 8 AM of the next day, anxious Imperial citizens finally learned the only confirmed good news in the past month from the morning news: General Neitaxi had returned triumphantly. He had successfully eradicated all the Zergs infesting the Empire.

Martial law would likely be canceled as the Empire would be safe. Although the new Emperor still has not returned, the situation was not too bad.

Of course, the Empire wouldn’t resort to something like live broadcasts to pacify the populace, as the Federation might. In a society where the supremacy of the monarchy reigns, the words of the royal family serve as the best form of reassurance. The citizens have no right to demand anything else.

At the Imperial military port, An Xei sat in the command room with the newly appointed ministers and dignitaries, waiting for Neitaxi’s arrival with his troops.

At exactly 9 AM on the dot, the shadow of Neitaxi’s warship finally appeared in the sky. Unexpectedly, the General didn’t attempt to concentrate the soldiers on the warship for landing, as he had done in the past. Instead, he adopted a regular battle formation.

Seeing this, An Xei immediately understood his cautious approach. He smirked mockingly and waved to the people behind him, saying, “General Neitaxi has worked hard on this expedition. Let’s give him a welcome salute with the artillery.”

The newly-appointed head of the port immediately opened all the defensive turrets of the port, aimed at the warships hovering in midair, and fired intensively.

Neitaxi, who was already prepared, immediately ordered the warship to ascend and evade the artillery fire. Simultaneously, the troops, already in battle formation, brandished their weapons towards the port, assuming a defensive stance.

“Stubborn and foolish, pitiful general,” An Xei sneered, picking up the external communicator. He said, “Traitor Neitaxi, you conspired with the Federation to assassinate the Emperor first, and now you’re turning your guns against me and your fellow Imperials. This is a heinous crime. If you surrender now, I can spare your life. But if you resist, don’t blame me for not giving you mercy.”

Upon hearing this, Neitaxi’s expression darkened. He hadn’t expected An Xei to attempt to frame him and made it as if he colluded with the Federation. He activated the external communicator and spoke in a stern voice, “Who the real traitor is will be judged by the people. An Xei, there’s no need for your words! Soldiers at the port, listen carefully. The Emperor has been rescued, and An Xei’s conspiracy has been exposed. Don’t continue to aid that tyrant. Lay down your weapons immediately!”

‘The Emperor has been rescued?’

The soldiers on the main star, under An Xei’s brainwashing control, momentarily looked bewildered. An Xei, however, quickly regained his composure after frowning, asserting confidently, “Neitaxi, spare us your nonsense. The Emperor has already died at the hands of the Federation due to your betrayal. There’s no need for theatrics here, and your deceitful words won’t fool anyone.”

Neitaxi no longer wastes saliva on him. He signaled his troops to turn on the information interference.

Almost immediately, everyone’s communication devices at the port received a video clip. The content depicted the scene of the Imperial Royal flagship being sucked into a black hole, with an additional frame showing the rescue of the Emperor from the flagship.

An Xei also received this video. Although the picture was edited at some places, he could immediately see that the rescuer of the Emperor was wearing a very distinctive black military uniform.

He suddenly realized what was happening, his expression changed dramatically, and he hurried to get up to leave, but it was too late. The people around him had already fallen, and a black dagger was pressed against the back of his neck.

“Prince An Xei, where do you want to go?”

Chu Rong’s voice rang out from behind, and a sharp spiritual power surrounded him like a dagger, hovering next to his brain. His spiritual sea was scrutinized menacingly, leaving him completely immobile.

An Xei’s body stiffened, and the communicator in his hand fell to the ground. He turned to look at Chu Rong, his expression cold and filled with murderous intent. Gone was the previous gentle facade, replaced by a chilling tone as he said, “Chu Rong, it’s you again.”

Time and time again, just when success seemed within reach, that damned interference from the Chu family always emerged to spoil things. He should have found a way to eliminate this unpredictable variable long ago, instead of hesitating out of fear.
