Ore?

Chu Rong glanced at his own device, which had shown no readings, decisively stowed it away, and signaled the team members and Qiao Zhiya to step back. He then took out his double-barreled gun, aimed it at the ground, and fired.

After the sound of explosion and the smoke dispersed, a large pit appeared in front of it. The pit was very deep, but all he could see was the bleak and hard ground.

“A bit deeper,” Qiao Zhiya reminded.

Upon hearing this, Chu Rong raised his gun once again. This time, he infused it with his spiritual power and aimed it at the deep pit before firing once more.

“Boom!”

A louder explosion resounded, causing the ground to tremble as if shaken by the immense power of the blast. Dust and debris flew everywhere, and after the smoke cleared, a dull black hue could be seen faintly beneath the lackluster gray-brown soil.

“That’s it! The fluctuations are strong!”

Qiao Zhiya replied excitedly, and immediately wanted to jump down to mine, and was quickly stopped by Chu Rong’s eyes.

“But I didn’t feel any fluctuations.”

Chu Rong’s expression grew solemn as he gazed at the black stones below. His gaze then extended towards the vast expanse of the planet’s surface in the distance. He added, “And don’t you find it familiar? If we were to add some strange red patterns to these ores, what do you think they would resemble?”

Qiao Zhiya was taken aback, and in his mind flashed the image of the peculiar device he had retrieved from the black hole. His mouth slightly agape, he said in a dazed manner, “But the feeling this ore gives me is completely different from that strange device. The energy fluctuation of this ore is gentle, just like a jade.”

This was definitely a good ore, otherwise he would not be so excited.

So, the real issue should be with those patterns. This unfamiliar ore was just a vessel for the power.

Chu Rong concluded that he didn’t stay any longer and pulled Qiao Zhiya, who wanted to continue mining, to return to the flagship.

Bombing the ground was naturally easier to do by the flagship.

After some intensive bombing, Chu Rong flew out of the flagship again with the team members, and then they saw more black ores.

After being blasted out of the ground, the ores revealed its true appearance – it’s clear they were all deliberately cut to shape by someone. In other words, these ores were intentionally laid beneath the surface of the planet by someone, and the purpose of laying them there…

Excitedly picking up the ores, Qiao Zhiya suddenly froze, looking up at the black-gold mecha hovering above his head. He exclaimed loudly, “Chu Rong, beneath these ores is the true surface of this planet. I can sense the power feedback.”

Chu Rong frowned and contacted Fan Xiangnan to let him lower the flagship. Since it was a planet with life fluctuations, this planet wasn’t a “dead” one. There’s no danger of sudden disintegration and they could safely land here.

In order to expose more ground for easy detection, the flagship bombarded the nearby ground again after landing.

Afterwards, everyone got off the ship to pick up ores together. Within a few hours, they cleared out the real ground, and then took out the device to test, and a big “F” came out.

“F-class planet.” Lin Zhen spoke first.

Although the F-class was not high, if it was transformed, it could still be cultivated into a safe planet suitable for human habitation.

“Someone artificially made this planet a garbage planet using these black ores.”

Fan Xiangnan frowned as he estimated the surface area of this small planet. Covering an entire planet’s original land with ores would be a massive undertaking, but it was surprising that no one had noticed any activity on this garbage planet in recent years.

“Notify the teams and military stationed on the border mining planet to come and help clean up this planet,” Chu Rong ordered, pulling out the brown mecha that had been picking up stones absentmindedly. He scanned the chaotic ground around him and said, “The Ning family’s laboratory must be here. Rest for now, and we’ll start searching for the lab’s location tomorrow.”

After that, everyone went back. Chu Rong carried Qiao Zhiya back to the flagship.

Qiao Zhiya was very excited. After touching the black ores with his hands, he found that the power fluctuations on the black ores were much gentler and more comfortable than he had previously felt.

He also took out a piece of earth-elemental magic stone – the ink jade – and compared it to the ore in his hand. Afterward, he concluded: the black ore in his hand resembled a variant of jadeite, fundamentally belonging to the wood-element. Its fluctuations were completely different from those of the earth-elemental magic stone.

He suddenly remembered the black-colored roots that the Elder Tree-xiansheng had given him. A conjecture emerged in his mind — could this black ore actually be not ore, but a variant of some precious tree? Or perhaps it evolved from the Yellow Leaf Tree into some material?

To verify this conjecture, he attempted to extract the essence from this black ore again, and eventually obtained a bottle of deep green liquid! It was so deep that it almost turned into black-green liquid!

Unlike ink jade’s pure black, this black ore also carried a little green!

Chu Rong, who had been frowning at him, suddenly changed his expression after he extracted the liquid from the ore, saying, “I feel a power fluctuation from this.”

Qiao Zhiya, who had just remembered he was still beside him, blinked for a moment, then his eyes lit up. He held the extracted liquid and approached, asking, “How does it feel? Do you feel like this ore might taste good?”

Taste good?

Chu Rong glanced at his mouth and warned solemnly, “You’re not allowed to eat it.”

Upon hearing this, Qiao Zhiya shifted his gaze nervously, then continued to ask about how he felt about the liquid.

Chu Rong frowned at him suspiciously, and answered, “It’s a very soothing sensation. It’s similar to the breath of spiritual power purification fluid, but it should be milder.”

Similar to spiritual power purification fluid?

Qiao Zhiya’s ears were raised and his eyes were even brighter.

In the Blue Galaxy, the effect of the spiritual power purification fluid on the human spiritual sea was similar to the effect of magic stones on his magical pool. They were both forms of energy that could be directly absorbed by the human body, with some enhancing effects during absorption.

The enhancing effect of the spiritual power purification fluid was purification, while magic stones of various elements have different effects on the magical pool depending on their inherent magical properties. For example, his favorite wood-elemental magic could make the healing aura in his magical pool stronger.

An ore similar to the spiritual power purification fluid… wouldn’t that count as a “spiritual stone” on the same ilk of “magic stone”? A type of stone that could be directly absorbed by humans and acted on the spiritual sea?

“Eat this!”

He got excited and handed the extracted liquid to Chu Rong without hesitation, then picked up a piece of ore – or more accurately, a stone – and placed it in his palm, urging, “Try to probe your spiritual power into this stone. Hurry, give it a try, and see how it feels.”

Chu Rong furrowed his brows even tighter, staring at the liquid Qiao Zhiya handed him, but he didn’t move — although he trusted Qiao Zhiya, he didn’t think it was something he could just ingest without knowing its specific composition.

Qiao Zhiya was anxious and thought of something. He was busy pulling out Qiuqiu and pouring out some liquid to let Qiuqiu try.

Upon touching the liquid, the vines on Qiuqiu’s body straightened up, and the plant-like scent emanating from him grew stronger. Its tendrils even seemed to twitch as they reached towards the remaining liquid in Chu Rong’s hand, seemingly eager for another sip.

Qiao Zhiya stopped Qiuqiu from its greedy track, coaxed it with his magic, then put Qiuqiu back. He looked at Chu Rong brightly, silently urging.

Feeling the gaze of Qiao Zhiya upon him, Chu Rong hesitated for a moment before tilting his head back and drinking the bottle of liquid, which emitted a pleasant aroma. Almost immediately, a gentle power spread from his stomach to other parts of his body, bringing a wave of warmth.

After circulating through his body, the warmth converged towards his spiritual sea. At the same time, the ore in his palm began to emit a slight warmth, followed by a gentle force seeping out and slowly penetrating into his body.

The sensation was remarkable, as if a power inherent to his body had ventured out and returned after a brief journey, leaving behind a feeling of excitement and comfort.

His spirit sea fluctuated slowly, and Chu Rong instinctively began to enjoy this surge of power, and subconsciously closed his eyes.

Not knowing how long it took and everything calmed down, he opened his eyes and saw Qiao Zhiya looking down at him with an excited look at the ore in his hand.

He followed to look at it, and saw that the dark black stone in his hand had faded all colors, and turned into a gray-brown like dead wood fossil.

“Wow, it’s really…” Qiao Zhiya came back to himself, meeting Chu Rong’s gaze with excitement before throwing himself into his arms. “Amazing! Now you have your own energy stone too! Soon, very soon, this world will usher in a true era of power and breakthroughs!”

Just like in the Magic Continent, as more magic stones appeared, magic elements gradually appeared in the air. These magic elements then drove the development of the entire world, leading all creatures to evolve towards greater strength and power!

Chu Rong hugged him back, listening to his incoherent words, looking at the gray-brown ore in his hand, feeling that he seemed to touch the truth of the conspiracy.

The mastermind behind these spiritual stones, which can be absorbed by humans, clearly controls this incredible power, yet they do not use it to perform miracles. Instead, they choose to cover an entire planet with it, allowing the Ning family to focus on human experiments.

He even used this stone to create a cosmic passage like a black hole, which attracted the true Zergs and allowed the fake Zergs to come and go freely in it.

Perhaps that mastermind no longer needs these stones, or perhaps these stones have become ineffective for him. Moreover, he probably cannot move them on his own and can only rely on puppets to do his bidding.

His previous speculation was wrong; An Xei is indeed important to the mastermind because An Xei likely has a direct method of contacting them. To avoid exposure, the mastermind must ensure the safety of An Xei’s mind.

But what really matters is the human experiment of the Ning family.

The mastermind creates channels to attract the Zergs, nurtures fake Zergs, probably aiming to obtain something different from humans for research purposes. Before developing channels to attract the Zergs, the Ning family’s research focused entirely on individuals with special spiritual abilities.

The mastermind must be looking for a special power different from human spiritual power, through the hand of the Ning family, through the hand of An Xei.

And as for those fake Zergs, they aren’t just tools like An Xei.

He suddenly remembered something that had been neglected before, so he took out the communicator and called someone.

Qiao Zhiya, still in excitement, looked at him with confusion in his eyes. He wondered why Chu Rong’s aura suddenly became scary.

The communication was quickly connected, and Ning Kongran’s voice sounded.

Chu Rong raised his hand to cover Qiao Zhiya’s doubtful eyes, and asked, “Your younger brother Ning Kongze, what’s so special about his spiritual strength? Why does Ning Tianxing care about him so much?”

Ning Kongran was quiet for a while. His voice was clearly weak, but he still replied, “Because… symbiosis, my younger brother’s spiritual ability is symbiosis.”

Symbiosis, a unique spiritual ability that has only occurred once in history, is incredibly powerful. Legend has it that the bearer of this power could coexist with all things in the world, granting them life and power. The individual who manifested this symbiotic ability was said to have perished during a turmoil, but perhaps not. It’s possible that person was captured by the Ning family and became a provider of genetic material for their research.

Chu Rong ended the communication, feeling the ticklish sensation of Qiao Zhiya’s eyelashes brushing against his palm. He extended his arm and pulled him into an embrace, concealing from him the cold, murderous gaze that currently occupied his eyes.

The mastermind was really not into wealth – what they wanted is supreme power, and… eternal life.
