Sorry for the late update. My college doesn’t understand the concept of “weekends” and so I still have work… Today, I’ll upload two chapters because why not.

Character ListQiao Zhiya: Half-elf, half-dwarf MC.

Chu Rong: Marshal ML.

Zhuang Yu: A doctor in ML’s army.

Chu Yan: ML’s younger brother. Is the same age as MC, currently attending intermediate college.

Qiao Zhiya insisted that he wasn’t sleepy, but his body betrayed his words. As soon as he touched the bed, he felt the fatigue hit him all at once. He instantly fell asleep the moment he was tucked inside the quilt. This time he slept very deeply, and he didn’t wake up until Chu Rong came in and called him to have lunch.

“Go wash up first.”

Chu Rong picked him up and put him in the bathroom.

He was stunned for a while before fully waking up. He looked up at the time and found that it was already past eleven o’clock in the morning. He was startled when he remembered that he was going to report to school today.

As soon as he walked out of the bathroom after washing up, Chu Rong grabbed him again. Before he could protest, Chu Rong strode to the dining room and made him sit down in front of the dining table.

“Eat.” Chu Rong asked A1 to pour him a bowl of soup first, and sat beside him.

Chu Yan, who was sitting across from him, withdrew his sneaky gaze and greeted him warmly: “Qiao, good afternoon!”

“Good afternoon, Xiao Yan.” Qiao Zhiya smiled at him. He was about to initiate a conversation before Chu Rong handed him a loaf of bread and blocked Chu Yan’s face in the process.

“Eat first. Talk later.” Ancestor Chu ordered with a frown, and gave Chu Yan a cold look that promised untold amounts of pain.

Chu Yan, who had been getting cold treatment all morning: “…” Can this miserable day pass already!

Under Ancestor Chu’s stern supervision, the meal time was extremely quiet. After the meal, the three of them boarded the hover car and set off for the school.

“Can I talk now?” Chu Yan asked deliberately after sitting down.

Chu Rong set up the automatic driving program of the hover car, side-eyed him coldly, then gave a reserved nod in response. He didn’t forget to reach out to rub Qiao Zhiya’s fluffy hair, pressing down a stubborn strand of hair that was curled up on the back of his head.

Qiao Zhiya, who was already used to being rubbed, turned his head to look at him, pursed his lips and smiled.

Chu Rong’s eyes visibly softened. He patted his head again, admonishing him in a firm but gentle tone,  “How old are you now? Still unable to comb your hair well…”

Qiao Zhiya blushed, and hurriedly tidied up his hair using his palm. Sensing that there was a stubborn cowlick refusing to be tamed, he blushed in self-consciousness.

Chu Rong moved his hand to Qiao Zhiya’s ear. He pinched his ear tips that were slowly blushing, and sneered, “Control your emotions. How can a boy blush all the time?”

His harsh words only did the opposite – Qiao Zhiya blushed even harder, clearly becoming more embarrassed.

Inexplicably, Chu Yan felt that the atmosphere in the car was a bit greasy1as in, he feels they are being too lovey-dovey in front of his face.. He couldn’t help but to rub the goosebumps forming on his arms. He opened the school’s exclusive server with his communicator and released the map of Campus B to block this greasy view.

The warm atmosphere broke in seconds, and Chu Rong looked at him coldly again.

Chu Yan pretended not to see his older brother’s ire towards him. He grabbed Qiao Zhiya and pointed towards the holographic map and said, “Qiao, look here. This is where your classes and dormitory are located. Because there are many specialized courses in research and development majors, other majors don’t have those classes, making them relatively isolated. So, they are all placed in Campus B. The area behind this hill is the dormitory area, the buildings in the middle are for classrooms and laboratories. As for the cafeteria, it’s located here.” Qiao Zhiya’s attention was immediately attracted, and he concentrated on remembering all of this important information.

“This is Campus C. It is where you take the mecha manufacturing class, and actually, this building is for all mecha-related activities. This study is very popular, so it has a whole separate building to facilitate it.” Chu Yan pulled out another image and pointed towards the largest building in the Campus C area, “This is where all the laboratories and workshops are located for mecha classes. After learning the theory, everyone will go there and apply their knowledge in practice. The school will provide corresponding materials and tools. But the material is limited per person, if you waste it, you have to spend your own money to make it up.”

Qiao Zhiya nodded in understanding, and at the same time glanced at Chu Rong.

He once thought about returning the money he got from Chu Rong’s giant sword’s purchase, but the White-Haired monster vehemently refused. Instead, he even gave him more “pocket” money, saying that it’s for him to buy all kinds of jade. He also said that he’ll get an allowance every month, plus the fee he got from treating Chu Rong’s spiritual pollution problem. On top of that, he still got that patent money that Old Man Ren insisted on transferring to him. Adding all those funds, he could be considered a small-time rich man.

Sensing his gaze, Chu Rong glanced at him back with the tail of his eyes. He thought that the Bald Chicken was worried about the material’s cost, so he patted his hair and repeated his earlier promise, “Again, you don’t need to worry about money. You just need to focus all your energy towards studying. If you don’t have enough money, just tell me, and I’ll give you more.”

“No, no, it’s enough, no need to give me any more.” Qiao Zhiya was taken aback, and quickly waved his hand to express that he didn’t need the money. His face flushed again – this kind of feeling was akin to getting pocket money from his parents. Seeing that he got it from the White-Haired Monster instead, he felt embarrassed. After all, there’s only two types of non-blood-related people who could give you money this casually: your spouse, or your “sponsor2aka sugar daddy lol.”. He didn’t think Chu Rong fell into any of those categories, hence his embarrassment and refusal.

Chu Yan: “…” Ah! So jealous! He was now a poor kid with no pocket money! QAQ

Chu Rong was noncommittal, and then turned his head to look at Chu Yan. His face twisted in disgust – compared to this younger brother of his, the difference was like the genuine goods versus the counterfeit one.

“…This is Campus A.” Chu Yan decisively pretended to be stupid and saw nothing. He pulled out another map, pointed to the dormitory area, and said, “I live here, you can come and visit me when you are free. Of course, if there are stupid enough people who bullies you, you can also come to me. I’ll teach them a lesson they will never forget. The various Campus areas are separated by training grounds and sports grounds, and they are not too far away. After you enter the school, buy a school scooter, and travel will be more convenient.”

“Don’t scrimp on money. Choose the best one for your safety sake.” Chu Rong added with a frown.

Qiao Zhiya nodded obediently and remembered it.

Chu Yan remembered his early intermediate college days. He received the “tough love” treatment, with minimum money and strict grade requirements. He was about to cry out of jealousy. There’s a huge difference between him and his Erge’s future-wife! Ah ah ah, so jealous!!

Although his Dage spoiled him and spent money for him without principle, it couldn’t balance his Erge’s strict treatment towards him! He has never felt the warmth of being spoiled by his Erge! He wanted to get a taste!!

Both Qiao Zhiya and him were seventeen years old. Why was there such a big difference? Was he the picked-up child instead?

Full of complaints, Chu Yan gulped all his grievances down his throat. After all, this was not Qiao Zhiya’s fault. In fact, he knew that he was a bit… dandy, so to speak. He did have that “young master’s temper”, so he knew that his Erge was strict towards him for a reason.

Chu Yan instead continued his introduction to Campus D’s facilities – it was a building mainly for logistics-related classes and departments. While Comprehensive Campus E was where the relatively unpopular departments were located. There was also an open plaza for all kinds of recreational activities. Overall, the college has very complete facilities, as expected for a school of this high prestige.

After Chu Yan finished his explanation, all three of them finally arrived at the college. They decided to park at the south gate closer to Campus B.

“I won’t send you in.” Chu Rong frowned slightly, still with his usual facial-paralysis,  “Don’t forget that you must come back during the weekend. Call me whenever you need something for me.”

“Yes, I will,” Qiao Zhiya nodded, leaned over and hugged Chu Rong. The excitement was replaced by the melancholic feeling of temporarily being separated. He continued, but his voice has a twinge of palpable listlessness, “I will miss you. In return, you should pay attention to get enough rest. After your pollution value drops, your spiritual power needs to stabilize for a period of time. You must minimize your usage of spiritual power, okay? Promise me.”

Chu Rong let Qiao Zhiya “lectured” him this time. He hugged the small youth back, and gave him a pat on his back. “I know, I promise. You also need to apply those words towards yourself. Don’t be a crybaby all the time too.”

Qiao Zhiya was embarrassed by what he said, and let him go. He retorted in a low voice: “I didn’t cry that much…”

Chu Yan, who was ignored in the side, was sure this was a test of his patience. He didn’t have an endless amount of them, so he was going to be a thousand-watt light bulb3third-wheeling at this rate.

Better leave them alone, then.

…I just realized that out of four (4!!) novels I translated, all of them have something in common: naughty, vivacious, forever-third-wheeling brothers of our main characters.
