The giant beast immediately sat up, staring covetously at the things exposed inside, pawing the ground with its front paws.

Audience: [??? What is this? How can there be something in the stone?]

“It seems to be a monitoring device,” Chu Yan fiddled with the strange device, his face darkened, “This stone is a synthetic stone, the same as the one that hid the supply box before. I can almost imagine it used to trap us. Heh, I’m looking forward the culprit to trying to explain this so-called coincidence – the monitoring equipment left after the cleaning was damaged and malfunctioned due to the sudden collapse of the forest, bla bla bla, then it caused the beasts that were driven here to escape. As for the things in the cave, the problem with the egg is because of the negligence of the staff, who didn’t pay attention.”

Qiao Zhiya comforted the giant beast again, squatted down to check the monitoring device, and dismantled several parts of it to have a look. “It’s really broken, I’ll try to see if I can fix it.”

“Well, the monitoring equipment has a video recording function. After repairing it, let’s see if we can get the video out and see what’s going on,” Chu Yan Ye squatted beside him, still not angry, and muttered, “Those people really treat us as fools. The wild beasts that were driven out in advance are trapped in such a close place, and there is no meaningful cage or comforting equipment. It’s not in line with Federal law at all, and they won’t be able to use that as an excuse to fool us afterward.”

After listening to their conversation, the audience’s mood of watching the excitement lessened a little, and they gradually became serious.

This was the biggest celebration event at the end of the year. It was really disgusting that some kind of conspiracy occurred in this kind of event. Especially when it happened to the juniors. If something unexpected happens… No, no, no, it would be too scary.

The atmosphere suddenly became dull and stagnant, as if there was a shadow hanging over the head, exuding an ominous miasma. Fewer comments from the audience scrolled, as everyone seemed to be waiting for the result.

The supervisors of the Xiang-Wei family looked at each other, then looked at Chu Rong who was getting colder and scarier. and finally, looked at Long Baorou’s vacant seat. They stopped talking.

Although the two of them also wanted to make some small twists and turns for the Chu family during the event, what they planned was to aggravate Chu Rong emotionally until his emotional state destabilize, causing a relapse of his old injury. They never thought of hurting or even killing Third Young Master Chu, especially in a live broadcast setting. The arrangement was indeed their handiwork, but the giant beast had nothing to do with them, so even if Chu Yan and Qiao Zhiya could really find something, the fire wouldn’t burn them.

Now let’s see how things end this time.

As soon as the shell and some parts of the machine were removed, a puff of black smoke suddenly and inexplicably rose from the inside of the equipment, and sparks began to flash on the exposed lines.

“What’s going on?” Chu Yan stood up immediately, frowned and said, “It’s not going to self-destruct, is it?”

Qiao Zhiya was also taken aback, and hurriedly took out a strange long-handled tool and poked it into the machine. It spat out a pile of white foam-like objects that covered the fault lines. He then accelerated the dismantling of the machine.

“Can you stop it?” Chu Yan squatted back again.

“Yes, I just need to dismantle the self-destruct device,” Qiao Zhiya replied calmly, and his hands became faster and faster. When he was learning mecha manufacturing, he didn’t miss the course of mechanical design. It’s a trivial matter to dismantle such a small thing.

In less than two minutes, a small self-destruct device installed in the center of the monitoring machine was removed by Qiao Zhiya and thrown directly on the ground.

The audience: […] What else does this primitive Native boy know? Compared with him, they were more like the primitive ones instead…

After complaining, the audience’s heart became heavier — the egg that just broke, the sheer coincidence of the timing behind the beast’s return, the monitoring device that suddenly broke down, and an inexplicable self-destruct protocol… this targeting was really super obvious, and it made people want to pretend to be stupid.

“It’s not the Xiang family that is targeting us,” Chu Yan picked up the self-destruct device and suddenly said something for the Xiang family.

The audience who were about to guess over there were taken aback and stopped guessing.

The screen in the live broadcast room was dark, and Xiang Lingyun, who was already preparing to find someone to deal with the next public opinion bombardment, stopped and looked at the live broadcast screen in surprise.

Did he hear correctly, did Chu Yan speak for the Xiang family?

“The Xiang family are all fake smart bunch of idiots. Plus they’re very cowardly. It’s impossible for them to do this kind of poisonous plan aimed at our lives,” Chu Yan had a serious face, showing a bit of maturity that was different from usual. His words suddenly became vague, “However… I would say that the person in charge of supervising the safety of the event venue this time is sloppy.”

For official Federal events, the people responsible for the safety of the venue were naturally the most “capable” faction in the Federation. To be more precise, it was the people from the Presidential Palace.

He didn’t say it clearly, so he couldn’t be liable for slandering the President’s faction if they made a fuss later. But he also had to say that the Chu family would never suffer like this. If they were wronged, they would bite back. It’s just right to give a little hint like this, vaguely guiding the audience to guess and think for themselves.

Compared with the conclusions spoon-fed by others, people were always more willing to believe what they have analyzed and investigated.

Qiao Zhiya finished repairing the machine. Hearing this, he hesitated for a while, and only copied the screen recorded by the monitoring equipment, but did not choose to play it.

The same concern as Chu Yan’s ambiguous conclusion, he also knew that it was not suitable to continue to tear this matter out.

They could let the audience see the situation where they were being targeted, and they could covertly blame other families, but they couldn’t directly give evidence to tear their faces, making other families unable to clean themselves up.

–At least, not directly.

Everyone in the Federation was watching this live broadcast, and the Empire must also be paying attention. If there was any big news, it would have a great impact on the situation. Under the circumstances that they didn’t know whether it was suitable for the Chu family to separate themselves apart from other families, they could make small troubles, but they couldn’t actually hurt others.

The two left on the giant beast after copying the video, artificially turning the matter upside down. But the audience, who already knew that this matter was not simple, remained silent for a long time, and various speculations slowly emerged.

The other supervisors in the live broadcast room were also silent. Only Xiang Lingyun’s mood was complicated.

He should have been grateful for being protected by his old opponent at such a critical moment, but Chu Yan’s evaluation of the Xiang family was really not good. It’s nothing more than sugar mixed with shit.

Suddenly there was a sound at the door, Long Baorou walked back and said, “The matter has been investigated clearly. The monitoring equipment near this treasure spot was damaged and shut down due to the collapse of the forest terrain, which led to—”

“The juniors who were supervised have uncovered something too. The beast regained its senses and returned to the entrance of the cave. Just now, the monitoring equipment hidden in the stone almost exploded,” Chu Rong interrupted her, and also broke the strange atmosphere in the supervisors’ room. He stood up and looked at Long Baorou coldly, saying, “Miss Long, please leave this room. You have no right to continue to participate in the following activities. Xiangnan, send someone to take over the safety of the event venue, and I will explain this matter to the President personally later.”

Long Baorou was cut off in the middle of her words, and was driven away so mercilessly. She raised his eyebrows and shouted in a low voice, “Marshal, I understand your anger. However, all punishment must be given according to the rules, but you have no right to—”

“No, I have the right. I can arrest you now for endangering the lives of minors,” Chu Rong interrupted her again, gestured to the live broadcast screen, and said coldly, “Instead of standing here and wasting your time arguing with me, why not think about how to explain this incident to the public.”

After speaking, he walked around her and left, and went to contact the President with a terrifying aura.

The other supervisors in the room knew that today’s matter must be explained as soon as possible. They looked at each other and got up to follow Chu Rong’s footsteps. When they passed by Long Baorou, they all showed indescribable expressions and shook their heads.

After all, she’s still a little girl, and she couldn’t grasp her sense of proportion. In this kind of live broadcast, small movements were allowed, but it was not allowed to be too out of line.

The Four Great Families will indeed plot against each other, but there was a default bottom line – the lives of the younger generations must not be touched. And even for Chu Rong, their idea was to let his own spiritual power go berserk, thereby weakening the strength of the Chu family, and they never thought of directly killing people.

There was the Empire outside the Federation. They could fight among themselves, but they couldn’t fight too hard, allowing the Empire to fish in the muddy water. Because without the Federation, what were the four of them worth?

Long Baorou didn’t see the content behind the live broadcast. She didn’t know that Qiao Zhiya and Chu Yan had already broken the stone and saw the monitoring equipment inside. At this moment, she was at a loss, annoyed and confused by their reaction. She felt that her reasoning was logical and convincing, so why does everyone have such expressions?

She looked at the live broadcast screen to find the reason, but she only saw the picture of Chu Yan and Qiao Zhiya leaving on the giant beast. When she was getting more and more confused, she suddenly remembered that Chu Rong had just taken the initiative to bring up the monitoring equipment and almost blew herself up. She was startled. Thinking of something, she quickly took out the communicator to contact her younger brother Long Ruizhang who was supervising safety below. Then, she turned around and walked outside.

The official explanation was given quickly, and the accident was finally concluded with the explanation that there were reactionary forces in ambush among the staff responsible for security matters. They pointed out that after searching, it was found that there were also such hidden safety hazards in several other places in the event venue. They also emphasized that Chu Rong was the one in charge of the line inspection in the other half of the venue, saying that because of his seriousness and responsibility, the bad guys did not take advantage of the loopholes in the other half, ensuring the safety of other children.

After explaining these things, the officials focused on Chu Yan and Qiao Zhiya who were the first to realize the conspiracy. They praised them for their boldness, and announced that they would be given an extra reward after the event.

Afterwards, the Presidential Palace took the initiative to admit their negligence in the supervision. They ordered Long Ruizhang, who was in charge of safety, to transfer the supervision power to Chu Rong, and several other factions also issued a statement in cooperation.

Some audiences bought into this explanation, while others didn’t buy it. But all the participating factions accepted this explanation. They had nothing to say, they just wanted to see how this would go down.

As the sky darkened, the children in the forest found places to rest one after another. The live broadcast screen was also closed for a short period of time after the night fell, allowing time for Chu Rong to take over the security team.

In the middle of the night, Qiao Zhiya got out of the tent in a daze, ready to go to the side to solve his physical problems.

The giant beast that insisted on following them heard the movement and looked up at him. After seeing that he hadn’t gone far, it lay down and closed its eyes again.

Qiao Zhiya smiled at it, then turned his head to stare at the suspicious off-state camera equipment parked on the tent. He raised his hand to scratch his sleepy hair, and went around behind a tree.

“Don’t mess around again next time.”

A familiar cold voice suddenly came from behind. His waist tightened, as he felt that his body was hugged into a familiar embrace.

He froze for a moment, and wanted to turn his head to look, but his eyes were covered by a big hand. A familiar voice telling him to not move sounded from above his head.

The youth stopped struggling, turned his head to the side, and called out in a low voice, “Chu Rong?”

His breath steadied. The taller man hugged him tighter.

Qiao Zhiya obediently let the Marshal hold him. After a moment of silence, he whispered, “Can you take your hand away… I want to see you.”

As he spoke, his ears moved in embarrassment, and his face turned red.

Chu Rong looked down at his fluttering ears, making him indulge in his desire, kissing the flushed ears.

With this sensation, Qiao Zhiya’s body suddenly froze in place. Chu Rong frowned, raised his hands and rubbed the youth’s sensitive ears. He loosened his embrace, turned, and left without a warning.

Qiao Zhiya, who was freed, immediately turned to look. But he only saw a tall figure who boarded the suspension vehicle and lifted off. He lowered his head in frustration, raised his hand and touched his ear, feeling a little puzzled.

‘So the previous tactile sensation… was it an illusion?’
