Chu Yan collapsed. He drove the mecha around the spot twice with the empty cage in his hand. He wanted to chase after them but was afraid that Qiao Zhiya would come back here later. In the end, he could only wait anxiously at the spot, muttering frantically, hoping that the two of them wouldn’t mess up.

The audience was also devastated. From their conversations, they could roughly guess that Qiao Zhiya should have gone ahead to explore the way. They were anxious and hated the live broadcast equipment more and more.

“Sir…” Fan Xiangnan couldn’t help but speak, his eyes filled with worry.

“It’s okay,” Chu Rong suppressed the impatience in his heart and frowned. He spoke to reassure Fan Xiangnan, but he might also be trying to reassure himself. “If they encounter danger, they will take the initiative to send a distress signal.”

–Qiao Zhiya was also not one to be overwhelmed.

Fan Xiangnan nodded and forced himself to calm down.

The other three supervisors side-eyed him, admiring his calmness, but also very curious: ‘So what happened in the fog!’

The magical fluctuations became stronger as they went forward. Qiao Zhiya stopped after probing for a while, resisting the desire to move on, and was about to turn back to find Chu Yan to explain the situation. As a result, as soon as he turned around, he saw a giant gray-haired beast rapidly approaching in a cloud of gray fog. He froze for a moment, then raised his voice and asked in Elvish language, “Why are you going there?”

The beast didn’t reply. Instead, it opened its mouth and sprayed out a large mass of viscous liquid to envelop Qiao Zhiya. After that, it pulled him onto its back, and rushed towards the depths of the fog.

The mucus was very thick, but it felt like soft cotton to the touch. Qiao Zhiya inside of it could only move in a small range, and it seemed to be somewhat soundproof.

No malice was detected, so Qiao Zhiya did not resist. However, he was a little worried about Chu Yan who was waiting outside.

Before this event started, the supervisors confiscated all their communicators. If he and Chu Yan were separated, they would not know how to contact each other.

The giant beast stopped after running for a while. Then it turned its head and put Qiao Zhiya down, squatting on the spot and looking at him like offering a treasure.

After landing, the viscous liquid on his body automatically dissipated and disappeared. Without the barrier, the magical fluctuations in the air felt overwhelming. It was thick, like the air in the Magical Continent.

Before Qiao Zhiya had time to be amazed that there was a solid piece of land in the swamp, he immediately ran towards the place where the magical aura was coming from. There, he found that the strong magic aura came from huge chunks of massive rocks. Surrounding the rocks was a very thick layer of fog, which actually came from the said rocks.

“Ho ho,” The giant beast nudged him into the front of the rock. Then it walked up to a smaller rock and smashed it into pieces with a hit of its tail. From inside the smashed rock, Qiao Zhiya could see a foggy white object.

The beast, without hesitation, opened its mouth to tear off a piece of the white thing and gulped it down. After eating, it let out a growl of satisfaction.

After that demonstration, the beast brought the rest of the foggy white object in front of him as it wagged its massive tail.

After the stone was broken, the fog became thicker.

Qiao Zhiya was baffled.

–That thing, he knew of it. That’s a ‘flesh of the stone’.

‘There’s such a thing here?!’

Flesh of the stone was a strange edible mineral. It was said this mineral was formed during the birth of the universe, and the reason for its formation was still unknown. However, its function was already studied. The mineral itself was very rare and extremely difficult to find. It was usually guarded by guardian beasts.

It was recorded in the dwarf’s folklore that there were a total of three pieces of this mineral that were found on the Magical Continent. One of which was claimed by a human royalty, one was taken by the dragons – a race that had long since disappeared, and the last one was buried in the roots of the elf’s Tree of Life, of which is said to be the source power of the said tree.

In short, it was very, very, very precious.

It was also said that the effect of each flesh of the stone was different. The one obtained by humans was the worst of the three, while the one obtained by elves was the most powerful.

But now, he actually saw this kind of legendary thing here far away from his hometown!

He looked through the mineral encyclopedia of the Federation and read the teaching materials published by the Empire. There was no record of this mineral. At first, he thought that there was no such thing here, but now it seemed that maybe the people here didn’t even know that such a mineral existed.

Seeing that he had been staring at the flesh of the stone without moving, the giant beast arched him anxiously.

He returned to his senses. Sensing the increasingly dense magic elements in the air, he couldn’t help hugging the giant beast happily and gratefully for this treasure.

What a surprise!

Then, this giant beast must be this flesh of the stone’s guardian beast. It’s a miracle that he could actually meet one. Normally, guardian beasts would not easily leave the treasures they guard.

After that moment of joy, he then was thrown back to the land of reality. He remembered that this was a live broadcast, and hurriedly looked up to the sky – only to see that the live broadcast equipment was circling in a daze, as if it couldn’t sense the live broadcaster. Seeing this, he was relieved.

The fog here was so thick that the live broadcast equipment should not be able to capture anything, and the guardian beast seems to be able to control the fog here.

“Thank you,” Qiao Zhiya gratefully said as he patted the giant beast. Then, he bent down to pick up the flesh of the stone that was offered by the beast.

Seeing that he didn’t eat it, the giant beast showed a trace of sadness in its big eyes, and even whined a few times at him.

He hurriedly comforted it with a few words in Elvish language, telling the beast that he planned to store this mineral for a few days and eat it later.

Hearing this, the giant beast became happy again. It ran to the edge of the rock pile to slap it a couple times with its paws. It generously took out about half of the mineral and piled it all in front of him, wagging its tail at him.

Qiao Zhiya couldn’t help laughing, and didn’t show any politeness to it. He put them all away, then observed the surrounding environment. He walked up to the giant beast, and said, “Let’s go back and find Xiao Yan, he should be waiting impatiently.”

The beast tilted its head to look at him, then suddenly took a few steps back and squatted beside the stone pile.

“Aren’t you coming with me?” Qiao Zhiya asked as the smile on his face gradually disappeared. He stepped forward to pet the beast. With a low whisper, he continued, “Do you want to stay here with your baby?”

He guessed that the guardian beast left its original post because the thick fog would have an adverse effect on its eggs.

The giant beast lay down directly on the ground. It protected the egg in the hair on its chest, whined at him a few times, and even licked him.

It seemed that the Tree of Life’s sap he poured in the egg made it invulnerable to the fog’s negative effects. Qiao Zhiya touched it again, feeling a little sad — dwarves generally hate parting, but Chu Yan was still waiting outside. He couldn’t make him wait for too long.

Qiao Zhiya quickly collected his emotions. He drew a defensive magic circle around the rockpile first. After that, he took out all the food from his storage ring, piled it up in front of the giant beast together with the small animals that had been hunted in the past few days, and said, “With the magic power emanating from the flesh of the stone, this defensive magic array should last for a long time. Take your baby to rest here in the future, no one can hurt you anymore.”

Sensing the protection of the magic circle, the giant beast was grateful again. It licked him again, then pitifully whimpered. It even showed off its eggs as it closed its eyes – the beast also didn’t want to part with its new friend.

Qiao Zhiya lowered his head to rub against it. He turned around, and ran towards the way he came. Hearing his movement, the giant beast turned its head to look at him quickly, its big eyes become teary, and suddenly raised its neck and let out a roar. With that, the fog mysteriously parted around Qiao Zhiya, guiding him to the way out.

The audience was finally able to see some faint images again, but because Qiao Zhiya ran too fast, the images were blurry.

Returning along the path cleared by the giant beast, Qiao Zhiya quickly found Chu Yan who was running around in a hurry.

“Qiao, you’re finally back! I almost couldn’t help but press the rescue device just now. Come on, let’s go find Xiao Hui1literally “Little Grey”. Which is equivalent to nicknames you would give to a cat or dog. and its baby!” Chu Yan spoke quickly, and he looked like he was about to run off in a hurry. He even gave the beast a casual nickname.

Qiao Zhiya hurriedly stopped him. “The beast just went home, I just said goodbye to it.”

“What?” Chu Yan was stunned. His expression changed, and he suddenly exclaimed, “Okay, so it didn’t come to take us to find the baby, but let us escort it home? It’s too bad! How can there be such a bad beast! And why does it only say goodbye to you and not to me? I also helped in saving it!”

“Roar–!!”

A vague animal roar echoed loudly. It directly shutted Chu Yan up and made him cover his ears.

Qiao Zhiya couldn’t help laughing at Chu Yan’s silly look. “Look, it bid farewell to you too. Let’s go, it gave us a thank you gift, I’ll show it to you.”

Hearing the thank you gift, Chu Yan regained his energy and turned his head towards the loud roar. He yelled out a few words of farewell into the depths of the swamp. He let himself be guided by Qiao Zhiya as they went out.

The audience was so curious about their trip to the fog-covered swamp. When they returned to the cliff and the image was clear again, they immediately posted frantic comments, howling for them to show the return gift from the giant beast.

After Qiao Zhiya waited for Chu Yan to put away the mecha and ran to the front, he immediately took out a few beautiful crystals. It was translucent with a blue tinge. He showed it directly to the camera, saying, “It let me into its nest, where it hoard these crystals. It gave me a couple of pieces. Look at this.”

This was something he came up with as he went outside. The flesh of the stone must not be exposed, otherwise he and the giant beast might be hunted by some unscrupulous parties. So, he deliberately faked a gift to fool everyone.

There were a lot of messy things in the storage bracelet, and the most common one was the magic stones. But those were considered too ordinary. In the end, he decided to take out this crystal. This was called “spar2most likely this is a fantasy version of “Iceland spar/silfurberg”, which is a transparent calcite.”, the common currency of the Magical Continent. This crystal was good-looking, but it couldn’t be used as a weapon and it held no magical value. At most, this could be used as jewelry or ornaments. Plus, he remembered that the Federation had a record of this crystal, which was aptly named “ice crystals” in the Federation.

It was written that only a few pieces had been found. Qiao Zhiya thought that this was a perfect treasure to fool them.

He thought that a spar, a crystal with no practical use, should not be too valuable in the Federation. It was probably at the same level as magic stones, and taking it out would not cause trouble for giant beasts.

But what he didn’t know was that here, these spars – or ice crystals – were ultra-rare, and all recorded findings were all basically owned by the rich and powerful. Simply put, the price of a measly piece of spar was sky-high. Especially in the Federation, where the ice crystals were rarer than in the Empire.

Chu Yan stopped talking, the audience was also quiet, and the supervisors in the live broadcast room were all silent.

They couldn’t be jealous of such a thing as luck.

“You…” Chu Yan finally opened his mouth.

Seeing that his reaction was wrong, Qiao Zhiya couldn’t help shaking the hand holding the spar, and began to inwardly panic. He stammered and asked, “What’s wrong with this thing? I- I got into trouble again?” In the later part of his question, his voice gradually got lower. It was almost breathless, and his ears also began to tremble in anxiety.

“You’re really lucky!” Chu Yan finally finished speaking after panting heavily. He excitedly threw his arms around his shoulders, ruffled his hair vigorously, and said happily, “Xiao Hui is so interesting! This thing is super valuable!! Don’t you want to get a set of instruments like Master Ren’s? With this, ten sets can be bought directly!”

Qiao Zhiya’s ears perked up and his eyes lit up, saying, “Re– really? Is this so valuable? Do you like this very much?”

“Of course! This is the favorite jewel of the wives of big families! You can make it into jewelry and put it up for auction, so that you will never have to worry about money for the rest of your life!”  Chu Yan became more and more excited as he talked, as if he had already seen the future where he was rich enough to casually buy mecha models.

Qiao Zhiya’s heart was surging when he heard that, his brain was about to explode, but he managed to quickly calm down. He shook his head, and said, “No, I won’t sell it. I’m sure Dasao3Gu Yan’an should like this very much, so let’s make this into jewelry and give it to her.”

—Anyway, he still had a bunch of these in his storage bracelet.

Chu Yan also calmed down when he heard Qiao Zhiya’s plan. He was a little ashamed of his selfishness, so he easily agreed, “Okay, listen to you! At worst, let’s go back and ask Dasao  for a few more red envelopes!

The audience envied them but also had their hearts warmed by them.

[What a good boy who misses his family!]

Some of them had already felt their parents would be jealous and complained at them. [It’s over, it’s over! The women in my family will have to make a fuss when this thing comes out! But whoever dares to ask for something from the Chu family is looking for death…]

“Well, Marshal Chu…” Wei Xiongchang, who had a very fierce wife, couldn’t help but speak.

Chu Rong didn’t even look at him when he replied, “Federal regulations stipulate that whoever discovers the things on a primitive planet without an owner will have absolute rights to them. Even family members have no right to intervene.

Naturally, some of them immediately send someone to look for that swamp, in case there were other ice crystals.

There were quite a few people who held this idea, but it was a pity that when the event was over and everyone swarmed down the cliff, they found that the fog had formed a confusing barrier, and it was difficult for everyone to find the trace of the swamp. Even if they spend a lot of money and use instruments to locate the swamp at a high altitude, they would inevitably get lost and find nothing.
