After the media was satisfied, the event ended. Everyone bid farewell to the President and to each other. They still have a celebration gala to prepare, and it happened in the evening. After the gala was over, each family could really close their doors to celebrate their own.

At eight o’clock in the evening, the gala began. As soon as Chu Rong arrived, the President sent someone to invite him away, and then a large group of young masters and ladies from unknown families approached Qiao Zhiya at a seemingly elegant, but actually terrifying speed, scaring him. As a result, Qiao Zhiya quickly hid behind Chu Yan.

Chu Yan was overjoyed when he saw this, but he still helped him send all the people away very responsibly, and then took him to a corner.

Half an hour later, Chu Rong, who had finished his superficial work, left the center circle on the grounds that he was unwell. He found Chu Yan and Qiao Zhiya, who had eaten until their bellies were round. Leaving Chu Huai and Gu Yan’an to deal with the backstabbing politicians, he exited gracefully with the two of them. This move made people who were about to take the opportunity to make trouble extremely angry. On top of that, he also blocked Long Baorou, who was about to find a chance to dance with Chu Rong, until she was fuming with anger all night along.

Back at Chu family’s home, Qiao Zhiya took off his slim-fit suit, and finally felt at ease. He couldn’t wait to drag Chu Rong and Chu Yan to the empty mecha battle arena. While carefully taking out the flesh of the stone, he said, “This is the treasure I was talking about last time.”

As soon as the mysterious mineral appeared, a light gray mist floated out. Chu Rong and Chu Yan showed uncomfortable expressions, and took a step back subconsciously — they remembered that this fog was dangerous, and they weren’t wearing protective gear at the moment.

Qiao Zhiya was taken aback when he saw this. After connecting the dots, he hurriedly put the mineral away, and hurriedly reassured them. “I’m sorry, I forgot that you can’t directly face the fog, I have an antidote here, you…”

“Don’t worry, we’re fine, this thing doesn’t seem to be poisonous,” Chu Yan covered his nose to explain, raised his hand and waved the fog that hadn’t dissipated in front of him, and said with a frown, “It looks like some kind of irritating gas. It doesn’t smell, but it feels a little uncomfortable after I inhaled it. Don’t worry, it just feels itchy in the nose.”

Qiao Zhiya was a little relieved after hearing this, but still insisted on handing him an antidote, and said, “I’m sorry, I was too sloppy, you…”

The previously silent Chu Rong suddenly raised his hand to press his forehead, swayed his body, and sat down on the ground.

Qiao Zhiya was startled, panicked for a moment, hurriedly took out another antidote and stepped forward. Anxiety palpable in his voice, he asked, “What’s wrong with you? Is your body affected? Is it because of the fog? I…”

“Don’t come over,” Chu Rong’s voice dropped a few degrees. He used his stretched-out arms to stop Qiao Zhiya from approaching. His expression distorted, his frowns deepened, as if he was suppressing something.

His hand waved, but it was visibly trembling. Through gritted teeth, Chu Rong ordered: “Leave. Contact Zhuang Yu and ask her to come over.”

Seeing Chu Rong looking pained like this, Qiao Zhiya’s worry skyrocketed. “W-what… your body?”

Something in Chu Yan’s mind clicked. He immediately shouted, “Erge, your spiritual power is rioting!”

Qiao Zhiya’s heart stopped suddenly. He stared at Chu Rong with wide eyes, and was shocked to find that the floating fog seemed to be attracted by something – it actually condensed around Chu Rong.

“What’s going on?” He couldn’t help but want to step forward again.

“Get out quickly,” Chu Rong repeated. He pressed his forehead, eyes shut in pain. At the same time, an indistinct violent spiritual force quickly spread around Chu Rong, and the sirens in the room began to go off crazily.

“Damn it!”

Chu Yan didn’t expect what he thought to be correct. He hurriedly opened the protective barrier around his body and Qiao Zhiya’s. He then turned around and ran to the corner of the hall to find the security control device – first to turn off the siren, then to turn on all isolation protection facilities.

After finishing this, he turned around and prepared to pull Qiao Zhiya out, but saw that Qiao Zhiya actually picked up Chu Rong, who was already a little unconscious, and ran towards the lounge in the battle hall.

“Qiao, what are you doing? Come back!” He was dumbfounded, and rushed forward to catch up.

Qiao Zhiya was already filled with self-blame. His little face was tense. With panic in his voice, his voice rang high, “I’ll help stabilize him first. Go call Zhuang Yu-jie to come over!”

Then, he closed the door and locked it up.

“Hold on! It’s too dangerous, come out!” Chu Yan was so anxious that he pulled the door hard, but it wouldn’t budge. Knowing that any effort to pry the door open would be futile, he had no choice but to contact Zhuang Yu and the rest of his family.

Inside the lounge, Chu Rong managed to gain a little bit of consciousness and opened his eyes. Seeing that Qiao Zhiya was still there, his eyebrows immediately furrowed. He withdrew his hand again, and reprimanded in a low voice, “Didn’t I tell you to go out? Why are you so disobedient!”

Qiao Zhiya placed him on the couch in the lounge. He rummaged through his storage bracelet and found a mid-level potion he brought in case of emergencies. He brought the bottle to Chu Rong’s mouth while saying, “Drink this first, this should be able to slow it down a bit.”

Chu Rong only felt that his head hurt more, and his consciousness began to waver. He fell back on the sofa, closed his eyes and said, “Get out… This rage is worse than the previous ones, I can’t hold it back for long… Go. Please.”

Seeing his increasingly pale and pained expression, Qiao Zhiya tightened his hold on the potion. Gritting his teeth, he threw himself at the Marshal, using his body weight to press the taller man’s limbs down.

Opening the bottle, he quickly poured the potion into Chu Rong’s mouth and forced him to gulp it down. He then pressed his forehead against Chu Rong’s, and used that as a focal point to focus all of his magical power into — the influence of this fog was still unknown, so he couldn’t hold back!

The potion flowed directly down his throat, burning it with pure power until it reached his stomach. The sharp jolt of sudden magic hit his brain, making his gasp. Out of pure instinct, Chu Rong wanted to reach Qiao Zhiya, who was basically laying down on him. He hugged the youth tight, and the two men looked inseparable.

The air was saturated with arrogant black spots, which were denser than usual. These black spots surrounded the healing magical power and ate it almost immediately. Qiao Zhiya didn’t back down – he took out a couple of magic stones to supplement him. He needed more magic power to fight this out and heal Chu Rong.

Under the influence of the potion, Chu Rong regained a little bit of consciousness, vaguely aware that a gentle little hand was trying to heal him with difficulty. He frowned, turned his body sideways and wrapped the youth in a protective embrace. He opened the “door” of his spiritual sea, and carefully led Qiao Zhiya to poke in, so he could lock him up for protection.

Qiao Zhiya immediately noticed his help, and hurriedly used his magic power to penetrate it. He was horrified to find that the gray fog had actually floated into Chu Rong’s spiritual sea, suppressing his own spiritual power, resulting in the black spots being able to wreak havoc.

‘How did this happen?’ He was shocked, and his heart sank.

Outside the battle hall, Zhuang Yu hurried over with the equipment. As he put on her protective clothing and was about to enter, she was keenly aware of a familiar violent force drifting towards her, shaking her spiritual strength violently. Surprised, she hurriedly took out the instrument in the space button and turned it on, and then heard a piercing siren without any surprise.

The expressions of all the people present changed at the same time. They raised their heads to look at the training hall where the isolation protective cover had been opened, and they were horrified.

If the protective shield couldn’t stop Chu Rong’s power, then…

“Turn on the protection system of the main house!” Zhuang Yu tightened her hands, with an unprecedentedly ugly expression, and said through gritted teeth, “Everyone, and I mean, everyone, must evacuate all at once. There should be no living creatures within one kilometer radius from here. Bring all the purification equipment here… The Marshal’s spiritual power is… absolutely in a berserk state.”

Spiritual berserk was a state where the person no longer had any control over their spiritual power, so it couldn’t suppress the accumulated spiritual pollution. The pollution would inevitably break the spiritual sea, causing irreparable damages. This phenomenon represented only one possibility – complete spiritual destruction.

No one dared to think about what this meant.

“How could this be…” Chu Yan was completely stunned, and raised his hand to grab his hair. He didn’t understand how the situation could turn so sharply because he just went to see a treasure with Qiao.

‘Wait, Qiao!’

He suddenly remembered something, his face paled at the speed of sound. Seeing everyone in a hurry to evacuate, he yelled in panic, “Wait, Qiao is still inside! He said he wanted to help stabilize Erge’s spiritual strength. I will bring him out first!”

Zhuang Yu was shocked. Her eyes bulged, but she still stepped forward to hold Chu Yan back. She knew the pros and cons. She had to steel her heart and said, “You can’t go. The spiritual  radiation emitted is getting stronger and stronger, and its aggressiveness will gradually increase. If you go in, you will die! Retreat now!”

“I don’t—”

Zhuang Yu raised her hand to knock him out and handed him over to the assistant who was waiting aside. She looked at Chu Rong’s – and Qiao Zhiya, too, apparently – direction with red eyes, unshed tears welled in her eyes. She shut her eyes, and decisively ran away.

It’s not that she’s cold-blooded and doesn’t care about Qiao Zhiya. But the fact is that nobody can control this situation. She can’t exchange other people’s lives for Qiao Zhiya’s life!

‘After this spiritual berserk, the Marshal was highly likely to lose his spiritual power and become an ordinary person or… or… just goes crazy. But Qiao… no! Qiao has special strength, maybe nothing will happen! As long as I can hurry up, maybe… he’ll be saved. He will be okay!’

In the middle of the dinner, Chu Huai suddenly received a message from home, hurriedly greeted the President and left with Gu Yan’an.

The bigwigs of the various families keenly sensed something was wrong. They hurriedly sent people to investigate, but unexpectedly got the news that Marshal Chu, who said he was sick and left early, was really unwell and directly went berserk.

The surprise – no, the shock came too suddenly, causing a commotion between them. They hurriedly excused themselves from the gala, then went back home and nervously waited for the result of this berserk. They were looking forward to the arrival of the long-awaited ending of Marshal Chu.

Chu Huai rushed to the temporary evacuation spot outside the Chu family’s residence, and asked with a frown, “What’s going on? Why did Xiao Rong suddenly go berserk?”

“Dage…” Chu Yan, who was nestled in the corner, looked up with red eyes and trembling voice. “Qiao and Erge will be fine, right? It’s all my fault, if I rushed in and brought Qiao out, or if I found something was wrong earlier, he’ll be fine… It’s all my f-fault…”

Chu Yan sobbed and gasped. The Third Young Master Chu was very different from his usual casual and confident self. Chu Huai’s heart trembled, thinking of the dark night when his parents sacrificed themselves many years ago, he stepped forward to hold his youngest brother in a comforting hug. Patting his back, Chu Huai also tried to hold back his tears. “It’s okay, trust your Erge. He will be fine, and he will definitely not let Qiao be in trouble… It will be fine. I’m sure of it.”

Gu Yan’an closed her eyes and covered her mouth with her palm. She stepped forward to hug the pair of brothers, praying in her heart.

‘God, this family had already lost our parents once. Please, please, please don’t let us lose another in such a short time…’

In the lounge, Qiao Zhiya was drenched in sweat, and the pain of his empty magic pool made him want to growl, but he had no strength at all.

The magic stones had all been used up, while Chu Rong fell into a coma under the influence of the potion. He tried to dispel the black spots, but it was too numerous, and his efforts were proven to be futile.

If anything, Chu Rong looked like he was on the verge of another spiritual berserk again.

‘What to do…’ He moved his fingers, grabbed Chu Rong’s clothes, and couldn’t connect his thoughts intermittently… ‘I can only hold it back this far… but… I must go on. I need to force those black spots even further, or better, purify them. I must go on. I must go on. I need extra magic power. I must go on.’

He blinked subconsciously, full of bitter self-blame. ‘If I had been more careful, if I hadn’t taken out the flesh of the stone in such a hurry… It was clearly a treasure, but how could it have stimulated the White-Haired Monster to go berserk…’

The arm holding him suddenly tightened, waking him up from the spiral of muddled vortex his mind had been pulled in. He remembered that the giant beast ate the mineral.

‘That’s it!’ A burst of strength suddenly spread all over his body, giving him enough strength to sit up. He carefully took the mineral, and pushed the fog out while pinching a bit of the mineral to feed it into Chu Rong’s mouth.

The fog has a negative effect on the baby, but the mineral itself was a positive thing – and that was proven by the giant beast.

The flesh should be useful.

It must be useful.

The foggy white flesh of the stone looked hard, but it softened quickly after being pinched off, and when it was fed to Chu Rong’s mouth, it almost turned into a puddle of liquid.

Most of the flesh was fed into Chu Rong’s mouth by him, and a small part was fed into his own mouth. Almost immediately, a warm force spread from his body, and it immediately filled up his dry magic pool.

‘Very powerful!’

He was overjoyed. He pulled himself together, stood up and tore off another piece of the flesh of the stone. He pried Chu Rong’s mouth open, and fed him another piece.
