Character ListQiao Zhiya: Half-elf, half-dwarf MC.

After a sleepless night, in the morning, as soon as Qiao Zhiya opened his eyes, Chu Rong printed a good morning kiss on his forehead. Then he was picked up skillfully by the older man, sent to the bathroom, and began to wash in a half-asleep state.

It wasn’t until the water wet his cheeks that he suddenly woke up. He turned his head in shock and stared at the bathroom door that Chu Rong closed after leaving, his heart beating faster.

‘What’s the situation? What just happened? I was carried to the bathroom by Chu Rong like a child?’

Before he could get out of his bewilderment, Chu Rong came inside the bathroom again. Seeing that the youth hadn’t finished washing his face, he grabbed a towel to help him wipe his face, scolding him, “Don’t play with water.”

He walked out with him. He put the short-circuited elf boy in front of the closet, and told him to change quickly. Finally, he left Qiao Zhiya alone.

Qiao Zhiya was so irritated that he changed his clothes in auto-pilot mode. Once he finished and went to the dining room, he found that Chu Rong had already prepared breakfast. The table was full of his favorite food.

“You…” He was flattered, and his expression was blank with shock.

“Come and eat quickly, you have to drink the milk,” Chu Rong motioned him to come over. Once Qiao Zhiya was seated across from the older man, he said in a tone that did not allow rebuttal. “Don’t try to be picky, or you will not be allowed to see rabbits.”

Qiao Zhiya did as he was told, and really finished drinking his milk. Seeing that Chu Rong seemed to be in a good mood, he asked, “Well, the rabbit is… and this morning…” “

“You were whining about raising a rabbit, so I bought you a pair,” Chu Rong replied flatly. He put the bread and jam in front of him, and continued his explanation, “Some time ago, the female rabbit gave birth to a litter, which was now taken care of by the old butler. Don’t be dazed, eat quickly.”

Qiao Zhiya hurriedly picked up the bread, and after eating a few mouthfuls, his brain finally connected. As he suppressed his excitement, he asked, “The rabbits you bought for me, so it is my rabbits? Do I have rabbits?”

When he was younger, he raised a litter of rabbits – but since they multiplied far too quickly, it almost became a disaster. Before it could get out of hand, his father released most of the rabbits, only leaving him with a pair of same-sex rabbits that would not continue reproducing. He continued to happily raise them, but rabbits were short-lived after all. Two years from that, both rabbits died from old age. He was sad for a long time, but he always wanted to raise another litter.

Unexpectedly, Chu Rong actually helped him realize his childhood wish!

“Yes, your rabbits,” Chu Rong glanced at him, raised his hand and rubbed his hair. He suddenly smiled, and continued, “If you want anything else in the future, just tell me, and I’ll buy it for you.”

‘La-laugh? The White-Haired Monster actually laughed??’

Qiao Zhiya stared blankly, then blushed uncontrollably. He foolishly lowered his head to cover it up by pretending to enjoy his meal wholeheartedly. He nodded vaguely and replied, “O-okay. Thank you. I-I will… I will repay you.”

“No need to thank you.”

–After all, it was Chu Rong’s desire to pamper his beloved.

Chu Rong secretly stared at the blushing youth, thinking of how cute Qiao Zhiya was. He pinched the quivering ears, and felt how hot it was. Eyebrows raised, his mood completely improved.

After breakfast, Qiao Zhiya saw a family of rabbits on the grass. He happily ran over to touch and see them, blushing with excitement.

Chu Rong leaned on the side and watched him play with gentle eyes.

‘That’s it, Chu Rong. Take your time. If the Bald Chicken flies again, I can just catch and cook it again. I can be patient since it will yield sweeter results.’

After playing with the rabbits all morning, Qiao Zhiya calmed down and began to familiarize himself with his current study progress. Fortunately, although he has short-term memory loss, all his knowledge points were still in his brain. He just needed to jog them up to make sure he was still proficient.

Another week passed, and Qiao Zhiya still couldn’t remember the previous two months. Thankfully, he didn’t get confused again, so his life was slowly getting back on track.

Soon, the midterm exam of the Intermediate College came, and Qiao Zhiya approached Chu Rong and expressed his desire to take the exam and skip a grade again.

“Are you going to the fifth grade?” Chu Rong asked for confirmation, flicking his bangs.

Qiao Zhiya nodded. After this period of familiarization, he had gradually gotten used to Chu Rong’s closer intimacy. “I learned the parts very quickly, and I have mastered all the materials for the fourth and fifth grades. I will definitely be able to skip grades.”

“Besides, I want to graduate with Xiao Yan and take the Advanced College entrance exam in the second half of the year, is that okay?”

“Then go for it,” Chu Rong readily agreed to his request. Suppressing the reluctance and unhappiness in his heart, he tried to maintain a calm tone and expression. “Do you want to go back to school after the exam?”

Qiao Zhiya glanced at him, blushed slightly, and shook his head. “No… I can just submit the research result for the final exam of the fifth grade. The experiment on the joints of the mecha has already produced results, so I can just use that.”

He didn’t know why, but after regaining consciousness, he became very dependent on Chu Rong. Although he usually restrained himself, he couldn’t deceive the budding feeling of something in his heart. He didn’t want to leave Chu Rong’s side for too long… at least after Chu Rong finished his vacation and returned to the army, he wanted to cling to him as much as possible.

“Okay, I’ll arrange it,” The unhappiness in Chu Rong’s heart disappeared. The corners of his mouth hooked up, and he rubbed the youth’s ears again. He found that Qiao Zhiya leaned over his palm, and nuzzled it in return. His gaze softened at the reciprocal action.

Three days later, the school approved his request to skip a grade again, but there was one requirement — his grades in the mid-term exams of the fourth grade must all be above 80, otherwise the grade skip exam would be canceled.

On the day of the midterm exam, Qiao Zhiya arrived at the school on time.

Most of the fourth-grade exams were practical, and he finished them with ease, getting full marks in all of them. His fourth-grade classmates who had never met before were stunned. After that, he passed the theoretical test again with full marks, which shocked his classmates again.

Walking out of the examination room amidst the students’ discussions, he saw that it was still early, so he went back to the dormitory. There, he left some gifts and snacks for Sang Bu, and sent a message to say that he had been there.

He went out, and went around to the first-grade classroom. He wanted to find Yun Xiachu, but the boy wasn’t there. In the end, one of Yun Xiachu’s former friends came to tell him that Yun Xiachu was now in the third grade classroom. It was then that he realized Yun Xiachu had also skipped a grade.

He was a little surprised, and didn’t notice the strange attitudes of these little classmates who isolated him before. After politely thanking him, he turned and prepared to go upstairs to the third grade classroom.

“You, wait,” The little classmate suddenly stopped him, took two steps forward, stuffed a space button in his hand, and said in a low voice, “I’m sorry about the previous thing. I watched the live broadcast, and… you are amazing. Congratulations for successfully skipping a grade.” After speaking, the young boy stretched out his arms and gave him a quick hug. Then, he turned around and ran away.

Qiao Zhiya froze for a moment, looked down at the space button in his hand, then glanced at the little students in the classroom who tried to cover up and looked away after he looked over. He  pursed his lips and smiled, waved to them, and said thank you. Then, he turned around happily and walked upstairs.

There were some small gifts in the space button, and each gift had a note of apology and a signature, which warmed Qiao Zhiya’s heart. ‘These carrot-heads are not bad at heart. I know they’ll grow up well.’

From the corridor, Yun Xiachu saw a familiar figure slowly approaching. He was taken aback, then rushed out angrily after recognizing the figure. He stared at Qiao Zhiya fiercely for a long time, then suddenly took out a lot of boxes from his space button. He stuffed them all into the older youth’s arms, and said angrily, “You–! It’s been half a year! Don’t ask me to bring you special products in the future!”

Qiao Zhiya was overwhelmed by the numerous special product boxes. He was stunned for a moment, and laughed in a low voice.

“W-why are you laughing! You skipped to the fourth grade without telling me! You liar-!!” Yun Xiachu became more furious.

Qiao Zhiya looked at Yun Xiachu, who had grown a lot taller – to the point of almost his height. He reached out and touched his head with a smile, and said, “Thank you. Sorry that I made you worry.”

“W-who worry about you?! Don’t touch my head! I’m going to be taller than you soon!” Yun Xiachu pulled Qiao Zhiya’s hand down fiercely. Awkwardly, he asked, “Aren’t you recovering? Are you coming back to class?”

Qiao Zhiya shook his head. Then, he told Yun Xiachu his plan in the future, which was to skip another grade and finish his Intermediate College education by the second half of the year.

Hearing Qiao Zhiya’s outrageous plan, Yun Xiachu was shocked. His expression changed, he suddenly gave him a fierce look, and yelled, “Just wait! I will catch up with you soon! Don’t try to be better than me forever! I will grow up too! I-I’ll become taller than you; much, much taller than you!!” After speaking, he turned around and left, and quickly disappeared.

“Hey, Xiao Chu…” Qiao Zhiya couldn’t stop the young boy. The smile on his face disappeared, and he frowned worriedly. After putting away the special products, he hurriedly sent him a message to comfort this awkward kid.

The grade-skipping exam was scheduled for the day after the final exam. The school opened a large classroom for him to complete the full set of exams. Xiang Kun got the news and came to watch again.

This time the exam was about the content of the fifth grade. The mecha manufacturing course already involved parts. Qiao Zhiya handled it skillfully and got a full score in all subjects again.

Seeing this shocked Xiang Kun to the core. He glared at Qiao Zhiya, who perfectly disassembled a part. He was speechless – he wanted to insult him, but couldn’t find the proper words he wanted to convey. In the end, all he could do was to look at Qiao Zhiya seriously, then ran away.

The invigilator who watched the whole process couldn’t help shaking his head when he saw this.

“Xiang Kun is excellent at everything. However, he’s still too reckless and headstrong. He needed to mature and calm down…” A teacher who was familiar with Xiang Kun suddenly sighed in a low voice.

Upon hearing this, Qiao Zhiya glanced at Xiang Kun’s back. He only pursed his lips, and proceeded to go through the formalities for suspension of school.
