After finishing, he was about to leave the school. On the way out, Qiao Zhiya received a message from Ning Kongran, who asked him to meet in the practical building of Campus C.

Seeing that it was still early, he agreed. He took out his hover car that had not been used for a long time, and drove towards Campus C.

Ning Kongran waited at the door of the practical building. He saw him coming from a distance, and hurriedly stepped forward with a smile. Seeing that Qiao Zhiya looked hale and hearty, Ning Kongran greeted him with a warm smile. “Long time no see. I received the gift you sent, Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. I heard from the teacher that you seldom been in school recently, and I thought you were not there, so I didn’t come to see you.” Qiao Zhiya explained with some embarrassment. “You said in the message that you need my help, what’s the matter?”

When it came to the topic, Ning Kongran’s smile became lighter, and he motioned for him to go upstairs with him.

It was the first time for Qiao Zhiya to come to Ning Kongran’s personal laboratory in the school. It was clean and looked unused for a long time. There were only a few materials scattered about on the table. Qiao Zhiya had a guess, so he asked, “Do you want me to help you deal with these materials?”

“Yes,” Ning Kongran nodded helplessly, then sighed. “I have tried many times myself, but it doesn’t work, it seems that only you can do it.”

Qiao Zhiya was puzzled. ‘Why only I can do it?’

Seeing Qiao Zhiya’s bewildered expression, Ning Kongran hurriedly explained in detail.

It turned out that the first time Qiao Zhiya came to do the grade-skipping exam, the school had no materials, so the teacher had to borrow materials from Ning Kongran’s laboratory. After the exam finished, the teacher returned the materials back.

After Ning Kongran returned to school, he used this processed material to make a newly designed part. He thought it would fail directly like many times before, but he didn’t expect it to succeed. Fortunately, he discovered the reason why the experiment failed all the time before – the processing of the material wasn’t 100% complete.

Later, Ning Kongran tried to process the materials by himself, but no matter what he did, he couldn’t achieve 100% completion. In desperation, he had to resort to asking Qiao Zhiya for help.

Ning Kongran also promised that in order to thank Qiao Zhiya for his help, he would add Qiao Zhiya’s name to his graduation work.

After listening to the explanation, Qiao Zhiya understood the specific situation. He smiled and waved his hand at Ning Kongran. “No need to add my name, it’s just a few materials. My contribution is too low for that.”

He walked to the test bench, pointed to the materials on it, and asked, “Are these the materials you needed?”

“Yes, these are,” Ning Kongran also stepped forward, and then insisted, “I still had to add your name. I heard that you have skipped to the fifth grade? Now it is only a few months before graduation. It may be too late to prepare for your graduation project now.”

–The implication is that Qiao Zhiya can use Ning Kongran’s works to graduate, even if this looks like a shortcut.

Qiao Zhiya was touched by Ning Kongran’s sincerity. He replied, “Thank you for your kindness, but I have already prepared my project, and I can submit it to the school in the near future.”

After saying that, he was afraid that Ning Kongran would keep insisting, so he directly put his hand on the material and said, “Then I’ll start. The process isn’t long, you can sit and watch.”

Ning Kongran knew that this would be a losing battle, so he did what Qiao Zhiya said. He didn’t want to disturb the young man, so he stepped back.

First, he simulated some spiritual power as a cover, then Qiao Zhiya used it to handle the materials skillfully.

Ning Kongran, who was next to him, quickly sensed the spiritual power that was floating out of him. He was taken aback for a moment, before his heart skipped a beat.

Looking at Qiao Zhiya with widened eyes, he could feel his heart palpitate chaotically.

‘Ho-how could he have… this kind of spiritual power?’ Ning Kongran wondered, trying to calm his expression down. Most people might not be able to sense it; but he, who had special spiritual power all his life, could distinguish the specialness of Qiao Zhiya’s spiritual power.

This was spiritual power with healing properties!

The hermit of his family once said that the next person with healing spiritual power to appear would bring salvation to their group. But how could it be Qiao Zhiya? He was just an Exoplanet Native, and he had just awakened his spiritual power not long ago.

He suddenly remembered the day when the hermit died, and his eyes suddenly sank — at that day, Qiao Zhiya happened to be on the island, specifically, he lived on the forest area, which was directly above the underground laboratory…

“Alright,” Qiao Zhiya withdrew his hand. He was satisfied to find that his speed of processing materials had become faster. He turned around and saw Ning Kongran looking at him strangely, making him embarrassed. Ears fluttering about, he explained his “weirdness” with a stutter, “Well, I… um, My strength is uh… more sensitive to materials, so the processing is a little faster. B-but you can rest assured that I have handled these materials well! I guarantee that it’s better than before.”

Ning Kongran snapped out of his dazed state. He restrained his emotions and faked a convincing smile. “No, I believe you… just wait a moment.” As he spoke, he stepped forward to pick up all the materials and put them into the instrument for testing.

The sound of beeps kept ringing, and the completion of the materials was indeed 100%. This only made the knot in Ning Kongran’s heart bundled tighter.

The healing spiritual power has a unique affinity for all things in nature, and materials were no exception. It’s no wonder Qiao Zhiya’s spiritual power was above A when he first awakened; it’s no wonder that he has such a high degree of completion in material processing…

This type of special spiritual power could always produce miracles, but history shows that it only brings disaster to the user.

He tightened his fist. He realized that Qiao Zhiya might not know how special his abilities are. Otherwise he wouldn’t have shown it so recklessly.

“Kongran?” Seeing the older man standing still in front of the instrument for a long time, Qiao Zhiya became a little worried. He stepped forward and asked, “What’s wrong with you? You’ve been in a bad mood. Have you been too tired recently?”

Returning to his thoughts, Ning Kongran moved and adjusted his expression a little. He turned to look at him, and said, “You handled the material very well… it was a great help, thank you.”

“That’s great,” Qiao Zhiya saw that Ning Kongran was fine, and felt relieved as a result. He hesitated for a moment, and tentatively suggested, “Although I don’t know why your parts need to be made of 100% completed materials… In my opinion, according to the characteristics and ratios of these materials, the reason for your failing parts might be because most of these materials are stone. You might need to swap a couple of the materials so the fault tolerance wouldn’t be so low like this. Although the spiritual power has a certain compensation effect, it is not as stable as the characteristics of the material itself. Maybe you can try adding some softer materials instead, so balance all the hard stones so the final part would be more flexible. Um… for example, there’s this grass from a primitive planet, and it has this, uh… special properties, but–”

“Thank you, I will try your suggestion,” Ning Kongran interrupted him. He tried to appear friendlier, and asked, “Qiao Zhiya, your strength… isn’t it a bit special?”

Qiao Zhiya’s ears pricked up in fright, and he stammered and asked, “Wh-what? I-I don’t understand.”

Ning Kongran could see that Qiao Zhiya was far too flustered to be truthful.

He felt helpless but a bit tickled. He wanted to sigh at Qiao Zhiya’s simplicity and strength.

“Qiao,” He leaned sideways on the test bench, did not face him directly, and said in a slow tone, “You are an Exoplanet Native, so you may not know much about the history of the Federation. There are also different types of spiritual power, some of which are special types. And it’s… very rare nowadays. I sensed your spiritual power just now, and found that your power is very special, it may be a kind of special spiritual power — it has healing properties.”

Qiao Zhiya’s pricked ears trembled. He slowly relaxed, and asked, “Healing? Can you feel it?” He has simulated the spiritual power for so long and done so many checks, and no one has found anything wrong with his spiritual power.

“Yes, I can sense it, because I’m also a special type. My ability is fusion,” to prove his statement, Ning Kongran released a little of his spiritual power that he rarely used. It swayed in front of Qiao Zhiya. He had a wry smile on his face. “This is what the Ning family has always… No, it’s nothing.”

“Qiao, you must pay attention in the future. It’s best not to keep 100% completion when handling materials, and try not to let others sense your spiritual power. It’s very dangerous.”

Qiao Zhiya frowned. After finally successfully simulating a spiritual power, it turned out to be another trouble?

“After you go back, you can go and find out what happened to people with special spiritual powers,” Ning Kongran stood up, surrounded by an air of melancholy. He walked in front of him, raised his hand hesitantly, and slowly put his hand on the top of his head, rubbing it gently. “This is not alarmist talk, Qiao. This world is not safe for our kin. In the eyes of others, we are aliens and… objects that can be used. So… it’s better than we mask our specialness, okay? Also, you’d better tell this to Chu Rong. I know he can protect you.”

After that, Ning Kongran left. He feared that if he continued to stay, he would say something he shouldn’t.

Qiao Zhiya watched him leave. He touched the top of his head that was still warm, looked down at his palm and frowned. He took out his communicator, and walked quickly towards the door.

After receiving this news, Chu Rong immediately sent a car to take him home. He asked Zhuang Yu to give him a detailed inspection again.

“It’s true that his affinity is very high,” Zhuang Yu frowned, feeling a little headache pounding her temple. “Everyone’s spiritual power has different characteristics. For example, mine is more sensitive than yours, and Marshal Chu’s is more aggressive. I thought that this is the same for Qiao’s, but I didn’t expect that his power would fall under this special type.”

The situation of the special-type spiritual power users in the federation was really delicate. She originally thought that Qiao’s spiritual power was simulated and there should be no problem. But it turned out that she was so horribly wrong.

Chu Rong also frowned deeply. He pondered for a while, looked at Qiao Zhiya and asked, “Ning Kongran said that he also has special spiritual power?”

“Yes, he said that his own is fusion,” Qiao Zhiya nodded, and then said with some frustration, “What will happen if my simulated spiritual power really is special-type? What will happen? Will this hinder my study in mecha manufacturing?” In Qiao Zhiya’s mind, that was the worst outcome he could think of.

Zhuang Yu was amused by his appearance, and replied, “How is it possible? Of course, you can continue to learn, but you must pay more attention in the future. When you must use your spiritual power in front of others, you’d better mask it so it wouldn’t be perceived as different by others.”

Chu Rong was more straightforward. He took out the spiritual power simulator earrings1this is the device that QZY wore when he still couldn’t simulate his magic power into spiritual power, as the world he lived in requires spiritual power to power devices/log in/enter public transport/etc. It gives out spiritual power of others (in this case, Chu Rong’s), so he can operate those despite his inability to output his own spiritual power. and put them on the youth, as he said, “When you can’t control it, use my spiritual power to cover it up. Don’t be afraid, even if others find out, I can protect you.”

The familiar spiritual power flowed out from the simulator and entwined around his body. Qiao Zhiya closed his eyes comfortably, blushed, and nodded. His heart was beating a little fast. ‘Why didn’t I notice it before? Wearing this simulator, it was like being hugged by Chu Rong…. It’s too… too…….’

Zhuang Yu, who was watching from the side, rolled her eyes. She felt angry at her superior’s shamelessness and possessiveness.

‘Putting a spiritual power simulator on a person with spiritual power – what is the difference between this and screaming at the world that Qiao Zhiya is yours, you possessive hooligan!’
