Not long after, Xiang Kun entered the examination room alone with a dark face. He saw Qiao Zhiya’s name hanging high on the screen at a glance. With a huff, he chose a room and went in.

More than an hour later, he left the examination room with a score of 98 and his face became even darker.

Three days later, all exams were over. The teachers of the school began to process the students’ exam results in batches.

“Huh?”

A teacher from the Mecha Manufacturing Department suddenly picked out one of the many exam’s mecha parts. He carefully assessed it with spiritual strength, and found that his previous feeling was indeed correct. He exclaimed in his heart, and quickly turned around and put the part into a grading instrument.

Seeing him like this, another young teacher asked curiously. “What’s the matter? There is a problem with the grade?”

“No,” He waved his hand, looked at the instrument with bright eyes, and waited for the test result to pop up on it. He let out a breath slowly, and said with a smile. “Sure enough.”

The young teacher looked at the instrument’s result. He was also equally stunned. “100% fusion? The instrument isn’t broken, right?”

“No, the instrument is fine. It’s just been overhauled recently,” The teacher picked up the parts again, turned around and handed them over, and said, “You will know if you feel it with your spiritual strength.”

The young teacher reached out to take the parts, and dubiously probed into it with his spiritual power.

“Huh?” He widened his eyes in surprise. He felt it several times in disbelief, and couldn’t help sighing. “This smoothness… the students who made this part have completed the material processing very well.”

“Their assembly technique is also superb,” The previous teacher added with a satisfied expression on his face. “This batch of students is very good.”

“What are you talking about?” A gentle voice came in, and the two young teachers immediately turned their heads.

They found out it was Master Shang, who had just been reinstated as a teacher this year. He walked in and the two young teachers respectfully greeted him. They then explained about the parts they were marveling about.

Master Shang has black hair and red eyes. He has a gentle temperament and elegant appearance. Although he doesn’t talk much, he is very kind. After hearing their explanation, he became interested. He took the parts and probed into them. He asked, “Do you have any information about this student?”

“Yes, each part has numbers on them. Let me see…” The older of the two hurriedly checked the list of students for this exam in the database, and quickly found the corresponding student’s information. After reading it, he was stunned for a moment, and replied, “The student’s name is Qiao Zhiya.”

Everyone knew that Master Shang was Chu Rong’s mother’s teacher and still has a good relationship with the Chu family. Qiao Zhiya is Chu Rong’s fiancé, so Master Shang should know about him.

‘Qiao Zhiya?’

Master Shang remembered the shy and beautiful child he heard about. He looked at the parts in his hand again and smiled. He looked at them and asked, “Can I take this part?”

“Of course, these parts were originally intended to be discarded anyways,”  The teacher replied quickly.

“Thank you.” Master Shang then put the parts into his space button, turned his eyes around the other parts, and asked, “Can you send me a copy of the student’s profile with a spiritual power of A-level? It would be very useful for me.”

Master Shang had a special status, so it was possible to request a student’s information that was already in the system, but the strange thing was… why Master Shang only asked for A-level spiritual power? Normally, people would ask for S-level and above?

The teachers were puzzled, but it was not easy to ask about this. So they quickly responded and turned around to transfer the data.

A few days later, Chu Yan and Qiao Zhiya’s admission letter arrived together, along with two new student cards and an activation code that allowed them to log-in into the Federal Military Academy’s student client.

The two logged-in with the activation code, and then received a school start notice from the client. They also got an official suggestion list from the school, which listed the things they probably needed to prepare for school.

“Why is the medical kit ranked first, and why is it highlighted? Doesn’t the academy have a school infirmary?” Chu Yan was puzzled, a little confused about the significance of this official suggestion list.

Chu Rong and Chu Huai, who graduated from the Federal Military Academy, looked at him in unison, and then looked away in unison. Chu Huai replied casually, “The school will also send a medical kit, but it is probably not enough. It is better to prepare another one.”

Chu Rong nodded. Then, he frowned and touched the back of Qiao Zhiya’s head. “I’ll let Zhuang Yu prepare it for you later.”

‘Why do you think it’s needed?’

Chu Yan glanced back and forth at them, and secretly winked at Qiao Zhiya. Hoping his question would be asked by Qiao Zhiya.

After receiving his signal, Qiao Zhiya hesitated. He looked sideways at Chu Rong, and asked, “Do you need me to prepare some more potions?”

“Prepare some, and I will ask Zhuang Yu to prepare some for you,” Chu Rong seemed to have thought of something. His brows frowned even tighter, he paused, and added, “After it starts, pay attention to rest.”

‘Huh? What does he mean by “it”?’

Chu Yan became even more confused. When Chu Huai was in the Federal Military Academy, he was too young to remember anything. When Chu Rong was in the Federal Military Academy, the war was finishing up. He was always taken care of by the old butler, and he didn’t have time to pay attention to Chu Rong’s life.

‘Is there something special? Did I miss any important information?’

One day later, he knew what he had missed. Yuan Xiu, who got the news from his father, rushed over and told him that after being admitted to the Federal Military Academy, all freshmen had to undergo a one-month training.

“I know there is training. It’s all a routine, why are you so excited?” Chu Yan still didn’t quite understand.

Yuan Xiu silently approached him, and asked in a whisper, “Then do you know that the training of the mecha driving department and the command department is hell-level difficulty every year?”

“Hell-level difficulty?” Chu Yan became interested and asked, “How hellish is it? What about other majors?”

Yuan Xiu was about to be overwhelmed by his attitude, and hurriedly said, “The difficulty of other majors is only a teensy bit less than ours, and ours is… about comparable to that of regular soldiers. The instructors are all military officers who have fought on the front line. On top of that, many of them came from the Xiang family’s army. Have you seen the school’s recommendation list? I think you and I need more than a medical kit.”

Training under the hands of the Xiang family’s officers, they knew some trouble was ahead.

Hearing this, Chu Yan finally understood why his two elder brothers reacted in such a way. It turned out that the key point was here.

‘The Xiang family…; He was silent for a few seconds, then looked at Yuan Xiu with a serious face, patted him on the shoulder, and said, “You’re right , what we need is more than a medical kit.”

–What they need is a full set of protective equipment! After a month under the hands of the Xiang family, he will probably shed several layers of skin!

Before going to bed at night, Chu Rong gave Qiao Zhiya a comprehensive lecture about the training. “The training of the mecha manufacturing department and the mecha driving department are separate, and your training intensity will be much lower. With your physique, it should not be difficult to cope with it.”

Qiao Zhiya was still a little worried. He raised his head and asked, “Then Xiao Yan…”

“It’s okay, he’s been too slack recently, it’s just right to go to practice,” Chu Rong raised his hand to cover his eyes. “Sleep. It’s already this late.”

Qiao Zhiya blinked, then closed his eyes obediently. As he settled into a comfortable position, his mind drifted on how he would make more potions for Chu Yan to take with him.

Chu Rong looked down at the top of his head, his gentle expression cracked, showing a little irritability. He hugged the youth tightly, and closed his eyes, albeit still slightly frowning.

At the hottest time of summer, the new students of the Federal Military Academy started their schooling.

The campus structure of the Federal Military Academy is similar to that of the intermediate academy. It was also divided into various campuses. The campuses are separated by various public facilities, but each campus is many times larger, and the architectural style is more majestic.

Chu Yan and Yuan Xiu once again lived in a dormitory, which was obviously arranged in secret. There were also traces of secretive arrangement on Qiao Zhiya’s side – his roommate is still Sang Bu.

“I heard that you won first place in the entrance examination for the mecha manufacturing major. Congratulations.”

Sang Bu sat on the sofa and flipped through the book as usual. Looking at a row of boxes on the table, he said, “My hometown specialties, take it. I’m going to pack up.”

After speaking, he got up. He walked to his own room, opened the door and entered the room, leaving him with a chic back.

The surprise was not over yet. The door of the next bedroom opened suddenly, and Ning Kongran walked out, stood at his door, waved to him, and said, “Qiao, good afternoon.”

“Good afternoon,” Qiao Zhiya happily replied. “You live next door to me? Fortunately—”

Xiang Kun suddenly appeared from Ning Kongran’s room. He snorted coldly at him, and muttered “Short-stack.” under his breath. Then, he strode out and walked away with heavy steps.

“…”

Ning Kongran smiled helplessly. “As you can see, my roommate is Xiang Kun.”

Qiao Zhiya looked at him, speechless. After he regained his bearings, he said, “You are welcome to come to my bedroom often as a guest.”

“I will,” Ning Kongran laughed again. He was about to say something more, when he saw Ning Kong’an and Jian walking over together from a distance. His smile faded and he shut his mouth.

Qiao Zhiya turned his head to look.

Jian and Ning Kong’an stopped across from Qiao Zhiya’s dormitory. Jian looked at Qiao Zhiya and greeted him, “Hello, Qiao.”

Ning Kong’an looked at Ning Kongran, smiled, and called out, “Cousin, why didn’t you wait for me? We could come together.”

“Prince An Xei will return to the Empire in two days. I don’t want to disturb your father-son’s private time, so I came here first,” Ning Kongran explained with a smile, then looked down at his communicator. “Guangji is still waiting for me, sorry.”

After speaking, he nodded to Jian and Qiao Zhiya respectively, and left.

Jian turned his head to look at Ning Kong’an, and said, “Your cousin doesn’t seem to like you very much.”

“My cousin just hasn’t gotten to know me well,” Ning Kong’an frowned and replied. After  nodding at Qiao Zhiya coldly, he immediately went inside his room with a loud bang. He wasn’t at all as low-key and polite as he had shown to the outside world before.

“You see, people with power are just so annoying,” Jian shrugged his shoulders towards Qiao Zhiya, his tone remained unchanged – his emotions were always light, as if he was simply stating a fact.

Qiao Zhiya didn’t know how to answer his topic, so he just smiled politely and didn’t answer. In fact, he wants to go back to the dormitory and talk to Sang Bu even more now.

This Jian gave him a very strange feeling. On the one hand, he didn’t feel any malice from the other party. On the other hand, he felt that the other party’s proactive greetings these few times didn’t seem to be very friendly, and his words were also weird, which made him  feel uncomfortable. Subconsciously, it made him become vigilant.

Seeing that he didn’t answer, Jian suddenly raised his hand and gestured at the similar height of the two of them, and said, “I heard that you stopped growing and will always be this tall in the future. That’s great, just like me.”

“…” Qiao Zhiya only felt strange.

“Although I am studying history, I will be on the same team as you in training,” Jian looked at him, as if looking at some cute baby, with the corners of his mouth curled up. “You must save me, then I can repay you.”

After speaking, he waved his hand and turned to enter his room.

Qiao Zhiya watched him enter the room, bewildered.

‘Help him? Repay? What does he mean?’
