After sleeping peacefully at home, Qiao Zhiya was sent to the training ground by Chu Rong himself the next day. He learned from him that Jian lost a part of his memory, most likely because his brain was deprived of oxygen for quite some time. Let alone what happened yesterday, he doesn’t even remember what happened a year ago. His self-cognition is a bit impaired.

Qiao Zhiya was relieved and worried at the same time. Although he felt that Jian was a little strange and a bit scary, he still rescued him by his own hand. Knowing that he was still injured because of this, it was inevitable that he felt a little uncomfortable.

“If only I could be more decisive and save him sooner…” He lowered his head, depressed.

Chu Rong stroked his head reassuringly as he said, “It’s not your fault, it’s the Xiang family doctor who came too late, and you’ve tried your best.”

“But… thankfully I’m not discovered. I’m sorry, I was too sloppy this time. I’ll pay more attention to it in the future. By the way, those people who saw me saving him…”

“I have everything, the potions you used are with me. It will also be revealed to the public that it is a new product developed by the Xiang family,” Chu Rong bowed his head and kissed his ear, then pinched his face. As he pointed to his own lips, and said, “Did I help you a lot this time?”

Qiao Zhiya immediately understood his hint. His face flushed, but his worries were immediately dispelled. His ears shyly fluttered, his eyes closed, and he took the initiative to give Chu Rong a peck.

Chu Rong pursed his lips as he felt Qiao Zhiya’s met his own. He lowered his head and hugged the youth tightly.

The person involved lost his memory, so the Xiang family was unwilling to expose the fact that their doctor arrived too late. The Chu family wanted to expose this matter as soon as possible so as not to involve Qiao Zhiya, so Jian’s cardiac arrest on the training ground was treated as an ordinary “too physically unfit” incident.

However, it soon became overturned, as the blame ultimately fell on the instructor, who gave them “unreasonable training”. The instructor was replaced, and the students who were cleared away were also specially appeased. The Xiang family’s army pretended to be frightened by this incident, and claimed that there’s a chance that many of the students have an invisible illness, which invisibly takes away their attention.

Qiao Zhiya’s return caused a little uproar among the students, which was quickly put down by the new instructors.

Thanks to Jian’s incident, the difficulty of the freshman training was slightly reduced this time, which made the students feel lucky.

Chu Yan made a call to ask about the situation during the training break, and Qiao Zhiya comforted him. After hanging up the call, he found that Xiang Kun had been wandering around him. But when he glanced at him, he quickly looked away.

Three days later, Jian returned to the training ground with a pale face. The students let go of their hearts and warmly applauded him for returning to the team. Standing behind them, Xiang Kun looked at Jian’s complexion carefully and secretly relaxed. He took a deep breath, then glanced at Qiao Zhiya, lowered his eyes, and moved away silently.

“I heard that you saved me.”

Jian, who lost his memory, became much more cheerful. During the break, he took the initiative to go to Qiao Zhiya, smiled at him, and said, “I will repay you. Do you like ‘Ilu’ flowers? That flower is hard to cultivate, but it’s extremely beautiful. I can give you a pot.”

‘Ilu?’ Qiao Zhiya wondered. After all, in the ancient lingua franca, Ilu also means “hometown”.

It was only for a moment that he was distracted, and the appearance of Ilu flower appeared in Qiao Zhiya’s mind. After a moment of silence, he nodded and said, “I like it, Ilu flower is really beautiful, thank you for your reward.”

Jian laughed happily as he leaned closer to him. He whispered, “Then this is a secret between us, you can’t tell others.”

Qiao Zhiya was taken aback by his sudden approach, and leaned back a little embarrassingly, thinking, ‘After his amnesia, this strange son of the Imperial High Advisor seems to become a lot more naive.’

He then suddenly remembered the stupid things he did when he lost his memory, making him blush. Now he was not so afraid of Jian. Instead, he smiled at him, as if to coax a child. Nodding cooperatively, he said, “Okay, this is our secret.”

The training continued, and Jian was allowed to practice less for a while because of his physical condition. But Jian refused to admit defeat and insisted on practicing with them for a whole day, even though his pace was much slower than the rest of them. When he couldn’t follow it, he would take the initiative to apply for a break.

Everyone was moved by his hard-working attitude, they quickly took the initiative to befriend him.

After losing his memory, Jian was very easy to get along with. Qiao Zhiya slowly let go of his vigilance and accepted this frail friend who came over on his own initiative. To be on the safe side, he specifically told Chu Rong about this matter, and Chu Rong didn’t stop him, only letting him make friends according to his own heart, no need to worry about other things.

A month passed in a hurry, and the Xiang family was unwilling to reconcile with the final group training stage, so they insisted on having an extra special training session for students with S-level and above physiques.

Qiao Zhiya finished it easily, and got first place in the special training. Chu Yan was second, and thus successfully promoted his physique level to SS-level. Xiang Hui, who was watching the special training, was so angry that he just shook his face and left.

Jexiu came in third, so he at least saved the Empire’s face. But surprisingly, Ling Yi from the mecha manufacturing department came in fourth, ahead of Yuan Xiu, Liu Hongzi and other students from the mecha driving department.

After the joint training was successfully completed, the warship carried the students back to the military academy. The campus where only freshmen arrived before leaving was already crowded with students from grades 2 to 5.

The weekend came after a day off, and all the freshmen who lived nearby chose to go home. Chu Yan and Qiao Zhiya were also picked up by Chu Rong.

After the lively dinner, the Chu family all went for a walk in the yard to help food digestion. At this moment, there was an obvious change in them. In the past, Chu Rong and Chu Huai walked in front, and Gu Yan’an and the two younger ones walked behind. Now it was Chu Huai and Gu Yan’an who led Chu Yan to the front, and Chu Rong and Qiao Zhiya were left in the back.

“Preferring boyfriend over brothers,” Chu Yan rolled his eyes angrily. Because of the training, his skin tanned, so his eyes looked particularly striking.

Chu Huai patted him amusedly. “I didn’t love you enough when I was a child? It’s all your fault that you were too naughty and annoyed Lao Er. Well, don’t make trouble with them. Lao Er will go to the Empire in a few days. He and Qiao Zhiya won’t be able to see each other for a while, let them talk more.”

“What? Go to the Empire?” Chu Yan was surprised, and asked anxiously, “What’s going on? Why is Erge going to the Empire? Exchanging hostages? Then this exchange is not worth it, I think it is more cost-effective to send Xiang Kun there.”

“What are you thinking about?”

Chu Huai glanced at him and explained, “Lao Er is going to deal with some border issues. There are a few mining planets owned by our family that are on the border between the Federation and the Empire. Since we are going to start mining them, we are bound to make a lot of movements, so that could lead to a lot of misunderstanding. It’s best for us to take the initiative and greet the Empire first, so no friction will be caused.”

With this explanation in mind, Chu Yan calmed down. With a bored look, he muttered, “It’s really troublesome. Those planets are obviously ours, but we have to greet our neighbors first when we mine them. What do you think our ancestors will think? When they occupied those planets, why did they find the ones near the border?”

Chu Huai and Gu Yan’an looked at each other, then shook their heads together and laughed. ‘Chu Yan’s thoughts are too simple.’

Meanwhile, Chu Rong and Qiao Zhiya also talked about this matter.

“How long will it take to come back?” Qiao Zhiya held Chu Rong’s hand, his expression contorted due to his reluctance.

Chu Rong intertwined their fingers together before squeezing them reassuringly. “I don’t know the precise time, but the shortest possible time is 10 days. It really depends on the current political climate of the Empire. Now the old Emperor is not in good health, so many of the adult Princes are making a lot of moves behind his back. After I arrived there, I might be held back.”

Qiao Zhiya became more worried. His rare willfulness flared. “Can you not go?”

Chu Rong let go of his hand, his steps stopped. He turned around, plucked his bangs, and shook his head. “Qiao, when the President changes next year, it seems that the Xiang and Wei families are not going to appoint another puppet leader. Instead, they’re going to want to put someone from their family in the Presidential seat. We must fight for that seat, and it’s already this late into the year, so it’s time to make some preparations.”

This preparation naturally includes military strength, and the flagship of the Chu family has not been repaired for a long time. In order to bear the pressure of the Xiang-Wei families, it’s necessary to improve their strength in many places. Therefore, they needed massive mineral reserves.

Qiao Zhiya didn’t quite understand the power struggle, but he was very clear about the importance of minerals. Knowing that Chu Rong’s trip was a foregone conclusion, he pursed his lips, hugged him, and said in a low voice, “I will miss you “

“Just thinking about me is not enough,” Chu Ronghui hugged him back, then suddenly whispered something in his ear.

Qiao Zhiya’s ears shook as he looked up at him suspiciously.

“Qiao,” Chu Rong rested his forehead against the youth’s and said, “You are already an adult. When I come back, are you willing to be officially engaged with me?”

Qiao Zhiya’s eyes widened, his heart raced. “En…engaged?”

“Yes, you are still too young, so we’ll get engaged first. We can get married after you graduate,” Chu Rong raised his hand and touched his face, and his voice was rather slow. “There’s no need for a formal banquet or something like that if you don’t want it, we can just make an announcement. I want you to officially stand by my side, so are you willing?”

Qiao Zhiya thought of a lot in an instant, including his parents who were still in his hometown, his anxiety when he first arrived here, and his own history of coming out of a black hole. His thoughts were in a mess, so he was about to blurt out his refusal. But looking at Chu Rong’s serious eyes, what came to his mouth became another sentence: “I am willing.”

He heard his own voice, and saw the instant joy in Chu Rong’s eyes. His thoughts slowly settled down, he buried his head in the taller man’s chest, tightening his hug. As he closed his eyes, he reiterated, “I am willing.”

Chu Rong loved him so much, and so was he. Of course he was willing to spend the rest of his life with him. But…

‘–It would be great if Mom and Dad were around. It would be great if I could go back to my hometown before the marriage…’

“I will work hard.” He whispered, his tone firm and solemn.

As long as he works hard, he will definitely find his way home. Then, he will take Chu Rong back to meet his parents. Finally, he’ll stay with Chu Rong forever, never to be separated again, just like his parents.

Chu Rong pursed his lips as he heard Qiao Zhiya’s declaration. He petted the youth’s fluttering ears, and said, “What’s the use of trying, Stupid.”

For the next two days, Qiao Zhiya locked himself in the laboratory. No matter how loud Chu Rong yelled, he refused to come out. He even secretly welded the door to death with a large ore, which couldn’t be smashed open. He forced his way in and was afraid of hurting people, so Chu Rong was so angry that he almost demolished the main house.

On Sunday afternoon, Qiao Zhiya walked out of the laboratory covered in dust and sweat, and handed Chu Rong a dagger for mecha and a whole box of advanced potion.

“I wanted to make another double-barreled gun for you, but it blew up, and I failed.” He muttered in dissatisfaction. Then, he took out Qiuqiu from his pocket, stuffed it into his hand. “Bring Qiuqiu with you. Treat it well, don’t scare it. You can feed it with potions.”

As soon as Qiuqiu got into Chu Rong’s hands, it pretended to be dead, and secretly stretched out a vine to hook it tightly Qiao Zhiya’s wrist, silently expressing its unwillingness to be separated from its master.

“I’ll wait for you to come back.”

Qiao Zhiya squeezed the ball to let it put away its vines, and then threw it into Chu Rong’s arms.

Chu Rong’s anger disappeared in an instant, and there was only distress in his heart. He immediately hugged him tightly and rubbed his hair. “Don’t be too reckless again. Look at your dark circles… go take a bath first , and then go to bed.”

“You sleep with me,” Qiao Zhiya said pitifully.

Chu Rong’s heart became weaker and his face darkened. He picked the youth up directly and led him towards their room.

After washing the Bald Chicken and stuffing him on the bed, Chu Rong lay down and hugged him. He found that Qiao Zhiya was obviously sleepy but still insisted on opening his eyes, so he personally covered them up.

Lowering his head, he kissed him, while slowly releasing his spiritual power to surround their body.

Qiao Zhiya responded shyly. His body slowly relaxed, and finally his eyes closed completely, falling into a deep sleep.

Chu Rong backed away, looking at his sleeping face for a long time. After pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead, he groped around to search for the youth’s hand. Finally, he put on a black ring engraved with the Chu family emblem in the youth’s ring finger.
