/came back 2 days late with starb*cks.

Uh… as an apology, I’ll give 2 bonus chapters today? As for tomorrow, there will still be 2 chapters update! QAQ

Xiang Kun: Chu Yan’s mortal enemy. Xiang Hui’s younger brother. Mecha manufacturing student.

Xiang Hui: A colonel. The Xiang family’s current heir. Xiang Kun’s older brother.

Ning Kongran: Ning family current heir. Studying mecha manufacturing, unlike his family.

Bearded Teacher (not real name): Qiao Zhiya’s Mecha teacher in VR.

Master Shang: Chu Rong’s mother’s teacher. Is currently a mecha manufacturing teacher.

Qiao Zhiya was woken up by the alarm clock. He opened his bleary eyes, clearly still hasn’t woken up, before finally realizing that he was currently in the school’s dormitory. The person who patiently lulled him to sleep was no longer around.

The alarm clock stopped and the door was pushed open. Sang Bu stood at the door, gesturing at the breakfast in his hand, saying, “Your fiancé sent you here in the early morning. Get up and have breakfast.”

Qiao Zhiya froze for a moment before realizing that the fiancé that Sang Bu said was Chu Rong. His eyes shifted to the breakfast in Sang Bu’s hand, his ears collapsed – Chu Rong left without even saying goodbye, while Qiao Zhiya really wanted to say something first…

“Morning exercise will start in half an hour. I’ll wait for you in the living room.” After finishing speaking, Sang Bu closed the door considerately, leaving the space for him.

Qiao Zhiya finally fully awoke. He sat up and pulled his hand to lift the quilt. However, he was stunned once he realized that he now has a ring on his finger.

A familiar black ring, adorned by ink jades, finished with a certain family crest.

“——When I come back, you will be officially engaged to me.”

What Chu Rong said flashed through his mind. He raised his hand to touch the ring between his fingers, rubbing it with reverie. Then he clenched his fist, lifted the quilt, and got off the bed neatly – he must work hard, and then wait for Chu Rong to come back!

The schedule of the Federal Military Academy was actually no different from that of the intermediate academy branch. It even had fewer courses with a lot more free time, which was completely different from the busy military life he imagined.

“It’s not that exaggerated. Although we are a military academy, we have to wait until the fifth grade to join the army for internship. We won’t have regular training in the real sense until the fourth grade. The first three grades are mainly to learn the theory and improve strength. It is more free, because the school sets free time for us to practice. For those of you who majored in mecha manufacturing, you’re probably going to make your own parts and experiments. As for me, a mecha driving major, I’ll have, well, mecha driving practice. This is also the same for the command department.” On the other side of the communication, Chu Yan explained it to him in a high-spirited tone.

He was clearly in a good mood.

Qiao Zhiya suddenly realized, glanced at the training form just spit out by the system, remembered that he had also been promoted to SS-level physical qualifications, and hurriedly asked about it.

Chu Yan lowered his tone once he heard Qiao Zhiya inquired about this. He sighed, “Don’t mention it, the training intensity on my side is definitely higher than yours. Different majors have different qualifications, after all. Ah, let’s stop the call for now, Yuan Xiu is calling me. Let’s have dinner together at night?”

After Qiao Zhiya gave a yes, he turned off the communication, walked to the gravity room according to the guidance of the training table, and started his first morning exercise in the military academy.

The other first-year students watched him walk into the gravity room that only students with S-level and above physical qualifications could enter. They looked at their tall body, compared that of Qiao Zhiya’s slender figure, and fell silent for a moment before changing their minds. They had to work even harder, then.

In the corner, Xiang Kun, who came to train half an hour earlier, raised his hand to wipe the sweat off his face. He glanced at the direction of the gravity room, and increased his training intensity again.

The mecha manufacturing major is divided into eight classes. Except for some relatively simple theoretical courses and public courses, all other practical courses are separated between the classes. Both Qiao Zhiya and Sang Bu are in the same class, so there is no separation, all their classes are together.

After the morning training, the two took a school-issued hover car to the classroom together. Sang Bu checked the schedule and the school forum, then said, “I heard that the homeroom teacher of our class is a new teacher named Luo Li. He just won a big prize.”

‘Luo Li?’

Qiao Zhiya was taken aback when he heard the name. He quickly opened his own class schedule to check it himself. And indeed, their homeroom teacher of their class is named “Luo Li”. As he fell into his thoughts, he covered his mouth with his palm, feeling that his IQ might’ve dropped a couple points after Chu Rong left.

The bearded teacher is a teacher who was rehired after a two-year break, not a new teacher, and his name shouldn’t be Luo Li, like his senior brother. He is just too sensitive.

‘Had I checked this before, I would’ve asked Chu Rong about the bearded teacher’s identity…’

But it was too late, as Chu Rong had long boarded his ship to the Empire.

His thoughts were unknowingly drifting, and when he came back to his senses, both he and Sang Bu already arrived in Class 1’s classroom. A man who is suspected to be their homeroom teacher was stepping into the classroom.

“Hello everyone, I’m your homeroom teacher for the next five years, Luo Li. I’ll be starting the roll call now.”

He was tall, long-legged, unshaven, and casually dressed. Overall, a sloppy-looking yet decadent uncle. He was leaning on the podium with half-opened eyes, slowly opened the roster, and without looking at the students below, he called out, “Qiao Zhiya.”

‘He’s our homeroom teacher…’ Qiao Zhiya was stunned for a moment before stretching out his hand to answer the call. Looking at the man on the podium, he definitely was full of an unreliable aura. His eyes were half-closed, looking like he had a killer hangover. Qiao Zhiya was puzzled – why would a prestigious academy hire teachers like that? He thought that all the teachers would be rigorous and serious.

Luo Li looked at him after hearing his voice, as if he glanced at him or simply raised his eyelids to refresh himself. He tapped his finger on the electronic roster, and continued to call the next name.

The other students were also obviously shocked by the “unreliable and unrestrained” image of their homeroom teacher, and they all looked at the podium in a daze. This state didn’t recover until the roll call was finished.

“Ah, good. You’re all here. Everyone is diligent, indeed.”

Luo Li closed the roster, gave a very perfunctory compliment, turned around and turned on the teaching equipment. He inputted a set of options, and then turned on the examination systems on all consoles. He took out a space button from his pocket, and from that tiny device, took out an astounding amount of materials to the ground.

“In the first class, let’s get to the bottom of it first. You can pick any of the materials from the ground, and use them to make the best parts you can make so far. I’ll let the system score your work. After you finish it, you can leave the class for today. Let’s start.”

The students looked at the messy pile of materials on the ground that even contained scraps of paper and dirt. Any fanciful and optimistic bits they had on their teacher poofed into nothingness.

‘Such a teacher? Can he really teach something useful for the next five years?’

“Huh? None of you moved? Well, there’s no need to worry about paying for any of the materials. You can ask the school for reimbursement. Don’t you know that the military gave subsidies to military academy students?” Luo Li looked at them suspiciously, completely unaware of the real reason none of the students stepped forward. It’s not because of money, but their concern about their future education.

When the atmosphere was stagnant, Sang Bu was the first to stand up, walked slowly to the pile of materials, squatted down and picked them up—he could only “work slowly and carefully” because of his uncoordinated behavior, but he didn’t waste time.

Seeing this, Qiao Zhiya came back to his senses, and stepped forward to pick materials with him.

Luo Li glanced at them, nodded in satisfaction, and said, “I appreciate active students like you two. Don’t say I didn’t remind you, the materials are all available, but only the early birds can get the worm, after all. Don’t cry if you can only pick the scraps if you move too slow.”

These words awakened the students, and the rest of them looked at the pile of materials on the ground that seemed to be a lot, but in fact it seemed that there were not enough materials for everyone to share equally. They hurriedly got up and went to the pile of materials.

When the throng of students finally stepped forward, Sang Bu just took all the materials and was about to go out. When he turned around, he was almost hit by other students rushing over. Qiao Zhiya quickly reached out to protect him, but his arm suddenly hurt, and then his back was hit by someone who bumped into him. He let go of his hand, and the material he picked fell to the ground, and was kicked back into the material pile.

“How is it?” Sang Bu hurriedly touched his arm, and at the same time looked coldly at a tall college student who deliberately bumped into Qiao Zhiya.

The student looked away guiltily, quickly bent down and picked up a piece of high-grade ore that Qiao Zhiya got, but had been kicked back into the material pile. Then he squeezed behind the pile of people, avoiding their line of sight.

“It’s okay,” Qiao Zhiya shook his head, seeing that his materials were gone, he simply reached out to help Sang Bu stabilize his materials, sent him out of the crowd, and then turned around to pick out another material.

But at this time, the material pile was already surrounded by a group of tall and burly students, so there was no gap for him to approach.

“That man did it on purpose just now. He took a fancy to the material in your hand.”

Sang Bu put his own material into the space button, so as not to repeat Qiao Zhiya’s “accident” just now.

“It’s just a piece of material, it’s okay,” Qiao Zhiya reassured him in turn. He smiled at him, stretched out his hand and pushed him to the side of the operating table, and continued, “Get started quickly, or it will be too late. I’ll also quickly gather my own materials.”

Sang Bu was not as strong as him, so he passively walked to an operation desk, frowned, his face was full of displeasure and coldness. “Why are you so easy to bully? With your current status, no one in class should be able to trample you. I’m telling you, that person was testing your bottom line just now. Once you give him a leeway, that kind of jerks will just continue to use you as their stepping stone.”

Qiao Zhiya offered to help him open the material processing equipment, and said soothingly, “I know, but we are all classmates. It’s just a small scuffle, if they really dare to bully me in the future, I’ll beat them stupid.”

Although he’s a kind dwarf-boy, he’s not easy to bully. The first time may be a misunderstanding or carelessness, he can understand to this degree. But if there’s a second time, he will retaliate directly with his fists.

Sang Bu thought he was just making an excuse, so he still had a trace of unwillingness in his eyes. But he couldn’t budge Qiao Zhiya, so he waved his hand and asked him to pick up materials again. After he turned around, his eyes fell on the crowd again, and his eyes were even colder.

The big pile of materials was only a small mound now. When Qiao Zhiya walked over, the last student just picked up the last few relatively complete materials. He took out a piece of ore from the materials and put it on the ground, then nodded slightly cautiously towards Qiao Zhiya, took the materials and walked to an operating table in the corner of the classroom to stand still.

Qiao Zhiya watched him leave, moved his ears, looked down and saw that besides the ore, there were only some leftover materials – gray-brown soil scattered on the ground and a few scraps of paper. He pursed his lips, and lowered his head to pick up the ore.

All the other students were secretly observing his reaction, and Luo Li, who had been silent on the podium, was also looking down at him.

The last student who left was very kind. What he left behind was a piece of source tin mine that could be used as the main material for parts. Qiao Zhiya picked it up and observed its condition, and found it was not bad. With a little peace of mind, he glanced at the scraps on the ground. He quickly passed through the main and auxiliary materials needed for various primary parts in his mind, screened out several plans, and moved his hands accurately towards the scraps that could be used.

Luo Li, who was leaning on the podium, straightened up a little when he saw this, and widened his eyes a little.

Picking up all the leftover materials that could be used, Qiao Zhiya was about to stand up and leave, when he glanced at the scraps of paper scattered on the ground. He saw the few incomplete information listed on it, and felt it was vaguely familiar. He squatted back again, and stretched out his hand to collect the scraps of paper to put them together.

Luo Li’s eyebrows were raised high. He put his hands on his chest, and rubbed his beard under his chin.

Seeing this, the other students muttered in their hearts, all with strange expressions.

‘This Exoplanet dwarf was lucky to become the marshal’s fiancé, so he’s not stupid. But why is he picking up those junk papers? Is it because he came from a backward planet, where even a piece of garbage paper is considered a treasure?’

After the scraps of paper were pieced together, a detailed material analysis appeared in front of his eyes. This material was very malleable, and it was an auxiliary material with strong adhesion.

‘Wait, an adhesive?’
