Feng: The Imperial High Advisor.

Jian: Feng, the Imperial High Advisor’s son. Studies History. Now has a forced amnesia.

An Lunn: Feng’s dead boyfriend. Jian’s biological father, the current Emperor’s second younger brother.

As a result, by the time the two of them walked out of the room, it was already almost time for lunch. One of them looked completely refreshed, while the other had an extremely red face and a swollen mouth. Chu Huai and the others were waiting in the living room. Once they saw this pair, all of them had various expressions with profound meanings.

“Let’s have some porridge to fill your stomachs first, and then we’ll have lunch later.”

Gu Yan’an was the first to break the absolute silence. She stood up to greet them in the dining room as usual.

Chu Yan on the side wanted to say something with gossipy eyes, but Chu Huai, who had quick eyes and quick hands, stuffed him back with a pillow.

Chu Rong pretended not to notice the little moves between his older brother and younger brother. He greeted them one by one and then took Qiao Zhiya to the dining room.

Qiao Zhiya was very good and quiet while eating porridge, but his face was always flushed red.

Chu Rong was in a good mood. He pushed the side dish in front of him, and said, “I’m going to discuss some things with my Dage later, and I have to settle the people who came back with me. Do you want to follow me or go to Master Ren’s workshop?”

Today is Saturday, and as usual, Qiao Zhiya would usually go to help Master Ren make weapons.

“I’ll follow you,” Qiao Zhiya immediately put down his spoon as he spoke. He found that his tone was too eager, so he added in a lower voice as his ears shyly curled down, “You said you would spend the weekend with me… Of course, if you’re too busy, I understand, I won’t…”

“Don’t worry.” Chu Rong’s heart felt soft. He reached out and pressed Qiao Zhiya’s red and slightly swollen lips. His speech was rather slow as he said, “I will let the old butler handle it later. I’ll bring you the rabbit. Dage and I are talking in the study, and you can play with the rabbit in the corner of the study for a while, okay?”

Qiao Zhiya quickly nodded, and seeing that his hand hadn’t moved away, he raised his eyes to look at him. Unable to suppress the joy in his heart, he opened his lips and gently bit his finger. Then, as if he was shocked by his own actions, he immediately pulled out Chu Rong’s finger and buried his face. He gulped down his bowl of porridge as his face became redder and redder.

Chu Rong was stunned by this sudden bite, then looked at him deeply, stretched out his hand to rub his ears, and said: “Eat slowly, don’t choke.”

Qiao Zhiya immediately slowed down his movements accordingly.

‘He’s so good that I want to take him away in a bag, then eat him up.’ Chu Rong thought.

After finishing the porridge, Chu Rong and Chu Huai went to visit the old Emperor who was placed in the guest house. Seeing that the Emperor was still in a coma, Chu Rong and Chu Huai went to visit the Imperial High Advisor who was less injured.

Qiao Zhiya, who had been led by Chu Rong, also went to visit him.

The Imperial High Advisor is named Feng, has no surname, with black hair and black eyes, and is about 1.8 meters tall. According to the height standards of adult men here, he is a little short. His facial features aren’t like Imperial people, but more similar to the Federation’s. His eyes are narrow and long, with the ends of the eyes raised. His face is slightly pale, and he has this fragility, as if he’s a high-ranking man who has fallen from his altar.

He seems to be only slightly older than Chu Huai. It is hard to imagine that he actually has a child as old as Jian. However, this situation is considered normal. Thanks to the existence of spiritual power, humans in this place have longer life spans. He also ages more slowly, so maybe this Imperial High Advisor just looks young.

“Marshal Chu, Chairman Chu, thank you for your rescue. I will never forget it.”

The Imperial High Advisor stood up and gave them a strange salute. His tone was very sincere, but his pronunciation of the common tongue was a bit awkward – he has a slight accent and odd sense of rhythm.

Qiao Zhiya looked at him curiously, but he didn’t expect that the Imperial High Advisor would also look at him. The two looked at each other. Qiao Zhiya was a little embarrassed and greeted him politely in a low voice, “Hello, I am Qiao Zhiya.”

“Hello to you too,” The Imperial High Advisor responded gently, saluted him, and continued, “I know you, thank you for saving my child.”

Qiao Zhiya felt that he seemed to see an illusion – he felt like… Feng saw him with a gentle and warm eyes, as if he’s an elder who is fond of a junior. He waved his hands and said, “No need to be like this, Jian is my friend, and it’s only right for me to save him.”

As a result, the Imperial High Advisor’s gaze became even fonder.

Chu Rong frowned, stepped forward to stand in front of Qiao Zhiya, and said, “Mr. Feng, Emperor An Ge is still in a coma. Do you need me to help you spread the news of the rescue back to the Empire?”

After hearing this, the Imperial High Advisor’s eyes moved towards him/

His eyes became distant and polite, and he replied, “Thank you for your kindness, but I hope you will not disclose the news that we have been rescued and are in the Federation for the time being. Everything will be decided by the Emperor after he wakes up.”

Chu Huai fell into thoughts as he heard Feng’s considerations.

‘Let the Emperor decide when he wakes up? With his current state, it will take at least a few days for him to wake up, and the Empire may be in chaos by then. Does the Imperial High Advisor deliberately want to make the Empire more chaotic by making such a request?’

Everyone here was smart and could understand each other’s intentions without saying anything. Now the Chu family and the Imperial High Advisor are temporarily allies. Since he made such a request, Chu Rong agreed.

It was beyond lunch time, and when the business was finished, Chu Huai politely invited the Imperial High Advisor to have lunch with him in the main house. The Imperial High Advisor declined and thanked him, saying that he wanted to rest for now. So the three of them took their leave, and the Imperial High Advisor escorted them to the door.

When he was about to go out, Qiao Zhiya suddenly felt a warmth in his palms, and something thin slipped into it. He tightened his grip reflexively, stopped for a moment, and turned back to look at the Imperial High Advisor, who was standing by the door.

The Imperial High Advisor nodded towards him and then touched his lips in a “silent” gesture.

Chu Rong noticed his pause and turned to see him turning his head to look back. He stretched out his hand to hold his ears and turned his head back. When he turned around and saw that the Imperial High Advisor had closed the door, he frowned and said, “This Imperial High Advisor has a lot of secrets surrounding him. Don’t get close to him, he is not completely harmless.”

Qiao Zhiya felt the flakes in his palm seemed to have human body temperature. He hesitated for a moment but did not say anything; instead he nodded, and did not look back.

After lunch, Chu Rong and Chu Huai went to the study room, and Qiao Zhiya followed them.

Chu Rong put him and the rabbits on the couch in the corner of the study room. After a few words of comfort, he turned around and walked to the desk to talk to Chu Huai about his trip to the Empire.

Qiao Zhiya realized that he couldn’t hear their conversation and knew that they must have turned on some privacy setting in the study. It was because they were talking about something that was not convenient for him to know. So he lowered his head and put down the basket containing the rabbits, touched the female rabbit’s head, then turned sideways.

From his palm, he carefully took out the thin slice from it.

It was an oval-shaped, white, translucent, hard… something. The texture was a bit like the scales of some kind of animal, and there was a very gentle power fluctuation on it, a bit like the feeling brought to him by the sap of the tree of life.

‘What’s this?’ He frowned, turned the item over and looked at it, a little confused.

He subconsciously did not tell Chu Rong about the existence of this thing before, because his intuition told him that this thing should not be seen by Chu Rong. But why? Although the dwarf’s intuition is very accurate, sometimes he himself can’t figure out what his intuition is trying to tell him.

And did the Imperial High Advisor’s gesture of tapping his lips mean that he wanted to keep it a secret and not tell Chu Rong about the existence of this item?

While he was distracted, the little rabbits in the basket suddenly seemed to feel something powerful. They all jumped out of the basket, as if they wanted to get away from the thin item in his hand, while the female rabbit shivered in front of him. Standing behind them, his eyes were fixed on the item in his hand.

‘What’s going on here?’

He was stunned and saw that a little rabbit was about to fall to the ground. He bent down to pick it up, but unexpectedly the female rabbit suddenly bumped into his other arm. He quickly stopped his hand and the item accidentally slipped off. Just as he was about to fall to the ground, the thin piece suddenly emitted a layer of warm light, drifting straight towards his slightly opened lips, then penetrated into his mouth and turned into a warm stream that merged into his body.

“Cough!“

He was startled and reached out to touch his throat. He didn’t forget to hug the little rabbit with his other hand, so he lost his balance and fell on the sofa. He was also hit by the female rabbit.

Chu Rong turned his head when he heard the noise and saw the youth and the rabbits rolled into a ball. His eyes warmed up. He relaxed and looked away. He looked at Chu Huai and continued, “It has been confirmed that the Zerg has completely disappeared after the death of the Zerg Queen. The Blue Galaxy has disappeared, and the fake black hole this time should be the creation of someone who wanted to warn, or threaten, the Emperor. There’s also a chance that this person also wanted to kick me away from the Empire.”

Chu Huai didn’t expect the truth to be like this. He frowned and asked, “What appeared in the fake black hole this time?”

“I encountered some monsters that look like a Zerg. However, they were much weaker, although plenty in number. I believe there are some secret agents planted in one of the ships that releases those monsters at us. In the end, I can only abandon the ship and leave the Emperor with the Imperial High Advisor, giving the illusion of being defeated and avoiding possible pursuers.”

“Do you know who did this?”

Chu Rong shook his head and frowned. “No, the Emperor’s mental state has been locked up by someone’s spiritual power. He cannot tell others about the Zerg, nor can he bear the burden of his memory being searched by someone else’s spiritual power. Everything I know now is all found out bit by bit by the Imperial High Advisor over the years. The current situation in the Empire is more chaotic than we previously expected, and some forces hidden in the dark have not been dug out.”

Chu Huai also frowned, thought for a moment, and continued to ask, “The Imperial High Advisor formed an alliance with you? What request did he ask?”

“Revenge,” Chu Rong replied, remembering the way the Imperial High Advisor mentioned the Emperor and the Zerg. “The Emperor planned An Lunn’s death back then, while he and An Lunn were lovers. This relationship has been a secret for some reason. Jian is a child secretly cultivated by An Lunn by combining their genes. In essence, Feng is not Jian’s adoptive father; rather, he’s Jian’s second biological father. He has worked hard to extend the Emperor’s life over the years. Firstly, it was because he wanted the Emperor to live everyday in pain. Secondly, he said he wanted to dig out the real mastermind through the Emperor and uproot those who led the Zerg into the Blue Galaxy. Thirdly, he wanted to give Jian a superior living environment so that he can grow up safely…”

Jian was actually a genetically cultivated child, no wonder he was in such poor health.

Chu Huai was a little surprised and a little sad.

Unlike the Federation, the Imperial Royal Family still maintains an ancient set of pedantic, outdated rules. Members of the royal family do not allow same-sex unions, and they strictly prohibit genetically cultivated children from bearing the royal surname. They feel that it would tarnish the bloodline and smear the image of the royal family.

When An Lunn secretly raised his child, he should have been ready to abandon his royal status and get together publicly with the Imperial High Advisor. However, fate had a twist, and the Zerg suddenly appeared, breaking the peace of the Blue Galaxy at that time.

After sighing, he suddenly thought of something. “Wait a minute, since the Zerg were artificially created and have been destroyed, what happened to the genocide of Qiao Zhiya’s hometown?”

The Zerg disappeared ten years ago, and the black hole should not appear again.

Mentioning this, Chu Rong’s expression turned cold. He looked back at Qiao Zhiya, who seemed to be muttering something to the rabbit with his back to the side. He paused, then said, “The appearance of this fake Zerg must be another incident. I still haven’t found the tail of this new conspiracy, but I believe that Qiao Zhiya’s situation is related to this. We have to find out.”

Chu Huai was confused. “But didn’t he lose his memory? What are you going to do…”

“If the black hole is synthetic, then his amnesia and the stop of his physical development shouldn’t be affected by the black hole. Instead, it should be caused by something else.” As Chu Rong spoke, his breath sank first, and he tapped his fingers on the table impatiently, looking very irritated.

In fact, after learning from the Imperial High Advisor that the real Zerg had really been wiped out, the first thing he thought of was the origin of Qiao Zhiya.

He believed that Qiao Zhiya did not lie when he first told his situation. He believed that everything he did after being rescued had no malice or purpose. After spending so much time together, he knew that Qiao Zhiya’s simplicity and ignorance of the world were not disguises.

But this matter was indeed a hidden danger. Qiao Zhiya’s origin was likely to be related to the emergence of the fake Zerg. If this connection was not clear, Qiao Zhiya may be in danger at any time. He hated this feeling of being out of control, being in the unknown.

Seeing that he was in a bad mood, Chu Huai glanced at the innocent-looking Qiao Zhiya on the sofa. He lowered his voice and asked, “Then what are you going to do, ask him again? Maybe after a year of stable life, a part of his memory has recovered a little…”

Chu Rong suppressed his emotions and looked back at Qiao Zhiya. Remembering how he cried muffledly with blood on his hands after being frightened last night, his heart trembled. He looked back, shook his head, and replied, “No, he is timid. He subconsciously is very resistant to these questions, and asking him directly would be only rubbing salt to his wound. I have… to perform a spiritual fusion to probe his memory, it seems.”

‘Spiritual fusion?’

Chu Huai, who is usually calm, lost his composure and blurted out, “Lao Er, Qiao is still young, you can’t be such a beast!”

Chu Rong couldn’t help but give him a cold look and explained, “I’ll just probe him unilaterally after paralyzing his perception and strength. I won’t perform a true spiritual fusion.”

Chu Huai became a little embarrassed. He coughed and said:,”I just hope you can pay attention and don’t hurt him. Although you are close, it is still too offensive to explore memories…”

“I understand.” If he could, he didn’t want to use this method, but… Chu Rong looked back at Qiao Zhiya, feeling slightly irritable again, and said, “I must know something about this hidden danger, and then make preparations in advance. I won’t pry into his other memories, and with his current state, I’m worried…”

“I understand, I understand, calm down,” Chu Huai interrupted him, pushing the tea in front of him, signaling him to take a sip.

Chu Rong also found that he had become too agitated. He took a sip of tea, lowered his eyes to adjust his emotions, and changed the topic, “How is the situation in the Federation these days? Everyone should already know about my ‘disappearance’ .”

Chu Huai sighed in his heart. He readily switched the topic, skipping the discussion about Qiao Zhiya altogether.
