Five days later, the President and his wife officially announced their divorce. That night, the sixth round of the Star Network Mecha Manufacturing Tournament commenced. Starting this round, there would be no more primary-level materials on the contestants’ workbench.

Qiao Zhiya glanced at several wrist joint parts and materials on the workbench. He emulated what he would be doing inside his brain, then took out his small hammer.

In the amphitheater-shaped auditorium, the audience looked at Qiao Zhiya’s short-cut bangs and his newly-changed overalls. They stared at each other in a tacit manner, and started to watch the game with serious faces.

‘—Ah, this pair of newly-minted lovebirds… it’s normal to be a little more possessive. Nope, we absolutely didn’t see the Marshal’s careful thinking at all.’

Two hours later, Qiao Zhiya’s sixth round of the game ended successfully, and he was promoted again. He wasn’t like a freshman who just entered an advanced college at all.

Master Shang looked at Qiao Zhiya, who bowed to thank the audience. He was both relieved and awed. “This urgent and high-pressure rhythm is obviously a more suitable learning environment for him. It’s only been more than a month. He has been careful when processing primary-grade parts in the first round, and now, he could handle intermediate-grade and advanced-grade parts without much worry. The school’s learning progress is too slow for him, and maybe soon, he will skip grades again. “

And it’s hard to imagine that more than a month ago, Qiao Zhiya was still worried about whether or not he could survive the first round.

Luo Li felt the same. Remembering Qiao Zhiya’s recent performance in the classroom, he nodded and echoed, “In every practical class he completed first, and then the rest of the time was devoted to his own self-learning about intermediate and advanced parts. He searched for them on his own, and the teachers couldn’t keep up with him at all. More than one teacher had come to me to report that he was giving the other students lessons instead.”

Master Shang frowned, and after thinking for a while, said, “Then I’ll find an opportunity to talk to him. If he can’t fit into the first-year course, just let him follow me directly.”

‘Is Master Shang ready to officially take him as his apprentice?’

Luo Li glanced at him side by side, rubbing his eyes then rubbing his chin, thinking, ‘I heard that Qiao previously operated under the identity of Master Ren’s apprentice. Now this cheap master is really going to steal him like that? Has he ever talked to Qiao’s previous master?’

At the end of the sixth round of the game, Qiao Zhiya took out his mecha design and Chu mother’s notes immediately after logging out, then began to study the mecha engine.

This piece would be the most difficult part for him to overcome for this competition. The main frame of the mecha could be compared with the method of making the magic puppet, and then the existing mecha parts could be modified according to his needs without much worry. But for the engine part, he had no shortcut. He needed to study it from zero.

According to the current progress of the competition, the engine would be the subject of a round at most half a month later. He must seize every opportunity possible.

Turning on Mrs. Chu’s note of the engine, he just read a few lines, and found that the note was a bit… odd. There was a trace of life energy on it.

This kind of electronic book only had a recording function, and it had no energy response. So, there was only one possibility for a power fluctuation to appear – that is, someone has intentionally left something on it.

The owner of the electronic book is Mrs. Chu… so the life energy is also hers?

He immediately got serious. He traced his finger on the book, and turned to the front and back rows of catalogs to explore. Apart from this engine section, the rest of the pages had no such trace.

‘Was it left by accident?’ He guessed as carefully explored the trace with his magic. As soon as a thin sheet of magic was laid over the book, there’s a response. Gradually, a faint glow appeared, and it condensed into a line of word: “SSSS”

–Even more frightening was… the word was actually drawn by blood.

An electronic book would automatically remove all stains. Blood stains should also be cleaned up. However, if the blood was treated by spiritual power, it would attach itself to the spiritual power, so it couldn’t be cleansed completely by the book’s mechanism. Normally, this kind of minuscule blood trace couldn’t be detected by normal equipment, but magic power was nature’s life force, and therefore, could easily sense and manifest this kind of trace of life.

He took a deep breath as goosebumps appeared all over his body. He realized something was horribly wrong, so he immediately called Chu Rong.

Half an hour later, Chu Rong hurriedly drove in a hover car and took him back to Chu family’s main house.

Everyone in the Chu family gathered in the living room, looking at the electronic book he took out with a serious expression.

“You all should be able to sense spiritual traces with your own spiritual power, but this…”Qiao Zhiya once again flooded the electronic book with his magic. And soon, a large swatch of ominous red appeared faintly.

He retracted his hand, glanced at Chu Rong, and continued, “This is a bloodstain reaction, I can sense it with my magic power.”

Chu Huai and Chu Rong’s breath hitched. Chu Yan’s expression also sank as he said, “I remember this relic was found in Mother’s office, not carried by her. Why is there… blood on it?”

This was the reason behind Chu Huai and Chu Rong’s reaction – such a large blood stain couldn’t be accidental.

“Mother is a mecha maker, but she died before Father did. At that time, this point appeared suspicious to me, and I have doubts surrounding the situation.” Chu Rong stepped forward to pick up the electronic book. His fingers trembled, afraid to directly touch the dark-red stain. Holding on to the border of the electronic book, he continued, “Now it seems that Mother wasn’t killed during the battle, but instead was murdered in her office. The murderer must’ve… moved her corpse to give off an illusion on where she died.”

At that time, their parents’ death was very fast, as the sudden appearance of the Zerg Queen wasn’t expected by anyone. Mrs. Chu died first, followed by the rest of the Chu family members. The rescue was rather timely, as Chu Rong managed to come and kill the Zerg Queen.

At that time, Mr. Chu was on the verge of death. However, his injury was too grievous, and he died before he could even say a word to Chu Rong. So even if Mrs. Chu died before that battle, nobody had the chance to tell the truth.

Chu Huai sat on the sofa, raised his hand to cover his forehead, and whispered, “I arranged the funeral for everyone, the body… I also saw them myself. Mother’s fatal injury was on the back. I thought it was caused by a Zerg’s sneak  attack, now it seems… my conjecture was wrong.”

Mrs. Chu’s office was nestled safely in the center of the flagship. How could a Zerg enter that deep so easily?

“I need to take a look at the flagship.” Chu Rong closed the electronic book. He put it in his own space button instead of giving it to Qiao Zhiya. He looked at the youth and said, “I will make another copy for you, okay? I will keep the original.”

Qiao Zhiya nodded. He took a step forward and took his hand, comforting him silently.

Chu Rong immediately felt the warm weight on his hand. He swallowed, voice sounding as if he’s in a thick daze. “Can you detect such blood traces even after treatment?”

“Not necessarily, I need to try it first,” Qiao Zhiya replied, hugging him close to comfort the taller man. “But I will work hard.”

Chu Rong hugged him tightly and whispered, “Thank you.”

Everyone went to the laboratory and experimented with animal blood first. After completely cleaning the blood traces so it couldn’t be detected by any instrument, Qiao Zhiya stepped forward and spread out his magic power. After a while, a layer of dark red traces appeared.

It can be done!

Qiao Zhiya was relieved and looked back at Chu Rong.

“Go to the flagship,” Chu Rong said, his eyes were colder than ever.

The Chu family’s flagship has always been stored in the Chu family’s safe, and it took the spiritual power of the three brothers together to unlock it. The flagship itself was massive – it needed to be parked in a special place. So everyone took the hover car and headed for the private training ground of the Chu family.

After more than an hour, the hover car landed on the edge of a large training ground. At this time, it was almost midnight – but nobody was drowsy, and instead, everyone’s mood was heavy.

Chu Rong took out the black and gold space button with the flagship inside and waved it towards the center of the training ground. Qiao Zhiya only felt that he suddenly couldn’t see, as all light disappeared. In fact, his line of sight was blocked by a massive black vehicle. On top of the flagship, he could only see a line of the starry sky above.

His eyes were wide open once he realized why Chu Rong took them to stop at the edge of the training ground and take out the flagship.

The flagship was too big – standing there, he couldn’t see how big it was, couldn’t see the edge of it. All he could see was the flagship’s wall. He was like an ant standing in front of an elephant.

No wonder Chu Yan previously said that because the Chu family ’s flagship was not well repaired, their strength was affected. its strength is very affected. If the other three Great Families have such a marvel of technology but the Chu family doesn’t, they’re definitely losing out.

“Go up.”

Chu Rong’s voice broke Qiao Zhiya’s floating thoughts. His mood was mixed once he saw this flagship – it’s been quite a while since he saw his old partner. He took hold of Qiao Zhiya and said, “It’s late, hurry up.”

In front of the crowd was the flagship’s head. Chu Rong directly opened a hatch in the head and took everyone in, then boarded the elevator platform and headed towards the flagship center.

Qiao Zhiya found that the internal structure of the flagship was very similar to the internal structure of Chu Rong’s warship. His heart trembled, then he glanced at Chu Rong’s expressionless face, and tightened his grip on his hand.

The atmosphere was silent as everyone walked inside this behemoth.

Without knowing how long he had walked, Qiao Zhiya only stopped once Chu Rong stopped first. He said, “Here it is.”

Qiao Zhiya peered forward.

Different from the cold and hard style of other areas of the flagship, the area where they arrived was obviously renovated. It was painted with warm tones, and there is even some children’s graffiti on the wall.

“This must be my assignment during primary college,” Chu Yan commented as he walked forward, his hand traced the childish drawing with reverie, glossing over the small signature in the corner. There was sadness in his eyes. With a bowed head, he continued, “So Mother took it here, no wonder I never saw it again. “

There were too many past memories on this ship – and the people involved in those memories were long gone. After ten years of repression, now those bottled-up emotions gushed forward, like a feral beast kept locked inside a cage. It extended its claws at their heart, dripping blood everywhere it scratched.

Chu Huai was the first to stabilize his mood. He leaned to Gu Yan’an, who was equally affected, then walked to a door, saying, “This is Mother’s office. Qiao, you …”

“I’ll try.”

Qiao Zhiya interrupted him as couldn’t bear to hear Chu Huai’s trembling voice. He hugged Chu Rong before stepping forward, spreading his magic power slowly.

Soon, the dark red stain appeared on the floor and the door. It started at the center of the floor, stretching towards the door, as tragic as a scene of a horror movie.

Chu Huai and others no longer have time to recall the past. Their solemnity dissipated as the murderous volatility fluctuated.

Qiao Zhiya was also scared by the brutality on the scene. His hands clenched, avoiding the blood on the door and twisting the door away, extending his strength towards the dim office.

More blood stains and messy footprints gradually appeared. For the first time, he thought that his night vision was a cruel ability.

He didn’t know when Chu Rong stood behind him, but all of sudden, the taller man covered his eyes, preventing him from looking at the tragic remnants of that year’s incident inside the dim office. Purely from reflex, Chu Rong extended his spiritual power to cover the corridor, and it shook the lights until it gave out.

“At that time, there might be a traitor inside the flagship.” He took out the electronic book again, looked at the “SSSS” letter, and said, “This is a reminder left by Mother, but we have never been able to find what she meant.”

He even gave this electronic book to Master Shang, who was grieving after the death of his apprentice at that time.

The next day Qiao Zhiya took a leave. He was busy all night to check any possible blood remains all over the flagship. It was finally determined that Mrs. Chu was attacked when she was on the way returning to her office after repairing something in the armory. The murderer’s method was very brutal – they didn’t quickly kill her, but instead injured her and chased her until she entered her office. They probably interrogated her or demanded something from her.

Qiao Zhiya did not experience that battle, so he didn’t understand Chu Huai and Chu Rong’s discussion about this matter. He slept on the sofa, and was returned later by Chu Rong.
