A silver mecha and a brown mecha moved freely in the arena, dancing in a deadly tune. If one attacked, the other would dodge; a well-matched play.

The audience found that Qiao Zhiya’s combat style changed after encountering Chu Yan. Instead of his usual wild and aggressive style, he had a touch of wariness and slyness. On the opposite end, the usually fast and erratic Chu Yan becomes more “solid” and “tactical”.

Rather than a tense fight, the two youths looked very much enjoying this duel, as if the result of the battle was no longer important.

The audience was affected by them, and they no longer paid attention to winning or losing. They began to look at the game with extra appreciation, and focused on their skillset as they cheered.

The atmosphere in the arena became warm and friendly, as smiles bloomed in every corner.

“Boom!”

The giant hammer and the energy blade clashed again. Suddenly, Chu Yan suddenly retracted his blade, flexed his side and threw a punch towards Qiao Zhiya. In return, Qiao Zhiya ducked on time, readying to swing his hammer in a counter-attack. Chu Yan saw this move. He expertly dodged, pushing his mecha’s movement to the limit by squatting and letting out a sweeping leg motion, hoping to trip Qiao Zhiya.

The giant hammer smashed to the ground, causing the special protective barrier of the ground to shake. The brown mecha failed to escape the silver mecha’s low kick, throwing its body out of balance and plummeting to the ground.

Chu Yan immediately turned over, took out his energy blade, and stood in a higher position than the Qiao Zhiya’s cockpit.

“I won.” Chu Yan’s voice came out.

“You won.” Qiao Zhiya echoed with a smile. The brown mecha raised his hand in forfeit.

After a brief moment of confusion, the audience erupted into an even more enthusiastic cheer. The entertainment value of this match was incredibly high, with both players showcasing their unique and impressive skills. In particular, Qiao Zhiya’s moves were so agile and captivating that it felt as if he were truly battling in person. It was simply unbelievable and incredibly captivating!

In the rounds, Qiao Zhiya’s matches were very quick, either in his win or loss. He rarely had this close-combat duel that spanned a long time, especially because he had that bow. He usually used his bow to end the match pretty quickly, so his audience quickly grew used to this routine.

After witnessing such a high-profile battle today, they finally cast aside their prejudice against the brown-colored mecha’s appearance and shifted their attention from Qiao Zhiya’s archery skills to the capabilities of the mecha itself. They truly discovered its remarkable strengths—its high agility and freedom of movement. Qiao Zhiya’s peculiar-looking mecha was definitely more than just its odd appearance.

Before, he piloted Rong Tian, and now, this mecha called Elf. Even under the same pilot, these two mechas showed a completely different flexibility than ordinary mechas. How did this happen?

Clearly, Rong Tian wasn’t this “human-like” when it was built on the Internet. Could it be that Qiao Zhiya, the genius Mecha Maker, has tried some new modifications? If that’s true, when this level of agility becomes widespread among all mechas… Wow, the scene is so beautiful that they’re almost immediately filled with excitement and passion.

They really wanted to drive a mecha like Rong Tian or Elf, and experience what it’s like to ride the wind!

Discussions about Qiao Zhiya’s new mecha gradually popped up in the audience. During the match, the referee had declared Chu Yan’s victory. The brown mecha stood up with the help of the silver mecha. The two gathered their weapons and went out of the arena.

“That is a good warm-up.” Chu Yan shook his head and was very happy.

Qiao Zhiya was also very happy. His small face was red because of the exhilarating exercise just now. He nodded and said, “Yes, yes, I feel my body can move freely now. Let’s do our best for our next matches!”

“Jiayou, I believe you can win.” Chu Yan patted his shoulder vigorously as encouragement.

Neither of them expected to advance into the top 5, so they weren’t pressured by crushing expectations. Of course, it is good to win, and it doesn’t matter if they lose. The smile on their faces makes the other players in the waiting area feel very complicated.

That’s the life of the rich, isn’t it? Every opportunity they fight tooth and nail for is just a game to them.

After a short break, the second round began. The number “7” was lit on Qiao Zhiya’s chair. Ling Yingxu, who was sitting diagonally across from him, stood up and nodded politely to him. With a kind tone, he said, “We meet again. I’ll give it my all.”

The greatest respect a warrior can give to their opponent is to promise to give it their all. Qiao Zhiyaalso stood up, smiled at him, and said, “So will I.”

The two walked towards the channel one after the other. Qiao Zhiya smiled at him cheerfully as he passed Chu Yan.

Chu Yan couldn’t laugh, his expression was stiff as if he swallowed a stone. Although winning or losing doesn’t matter, it wouldn’t be great if Qiao Zhiya lost two matches in the beginning. It’s not that he doesn’t believe in Qiao, but Ling Yingxu was really strong. Qiao’s chance of winning was quite small.

Sure enough, by the end of his second match, Qiao Zhiya was defeated and returned to his seat.

“How’s it?” He rushed over to ask.

Qiao Zhiya shook his head with a smile on his face, looking relaxed, and asked back, “How about yours, did you win the second match?”

“I won.” Chu Yan frowned as he answered, “This round of the points game is also the same, you’ll be eliminated after losing three matches in a row. You have already lost two. If you lose one more…”

“It doesn’t matter, my purpose of test-driving my mecha has been achieved.” Qiao Zhiya patted his shoulders to reassure Chu Yan. He took a glance at the other youth’s expression and continued, “Plus, I aimed to only test-driving one mecha in the first place. Now, I can do two of them, isn’t that great?”

Chu Yan knew he was trying to reassure himself. After a pause, he couldn’t bear to say anything else. He mustered up his spirits and smiled back, responding, “You’re super amazing! There will definitely be tons of posts about your mecha on the forums! Rong Tian and Elf are both one of a kind!”

Upon hearing this, Qiao Zhiya’s smile brightened even more. Seeing that the third round of the competition was about to begin, he hurriedly urged Chu Yan to return to his seat and rest for a while. The second round had been quite difficult, lasting the full thirty minutes, so Chu Yan must be very tired now.

Chu Yan was afraid that saying more would increase his psychological pressure, so he obediently sat back down.

One minute later, the list for the third round of matches was announced. The number “4” lit up on Qiao Zhiya’s chair. Irene, who was sitting behind him, stood up, leaned over, patted his shoulder, and smiled. “Jiayou.” With that, she turned and walked towards the Channel 4.

After a momentary stun, Qiao Zhiya greeted Chu Yan and walked towards Channel 4.

Chu Yan stared as Irene walked away, too preoccupied to even check who his opponent was. He was fuming inside at the tournament system. ‘What kind of ridiculous matchmaking was this? It seemed like they were deliberately targeting Qiao. How could all three opponents be familiar faces, and with decent skills too? Were they intentionally trying to eliminate him? Something must be wrong with the system, maybe it got infected by a virus!’

Passing by, Ling Yingxu noticed that he was sitting still and kindly reminded him. It was only then that he snapped out of it, furrowing his brow determinedly as he rushed into the competition area. This time, he was determined to end the match quickly so he could go watch Qiao Zhiya’s match!

Irene also drove a small mecha. It was iron-grey, with a thicker skeleton than the usual small mechas. Standing next to Qiao Zhiya’s slender Elf, it looked particularly oppressive.

Having lost two matches in a row, it was a lie when he said that he wasn’t nervous. However, his nervousness was only mild. As he had just mentioned to Chu Yan, his purpose of participating in the competition had already been achieved. Every match he fought was a gain, so he just needed to do his best.

This time, when Qiao Zhiya appeared, the audience, instead of the previous enthusiastic cheers, fell into a quiet, supportive silence after a round of encouragement. All of them nervously stared at the countdown timer in the arena.

His elimination or not depended on this match!

Three, two, one … The game starts!

The barrier disappeared, and Qiao Zhiya lifted his bow, shooting at Irene who immediately rushed forward.

Irene sidestepped, raising her handgun and firing a shot at him. She then swiftly changed her position, taking advantage of the handgun’s ability to fire continuously, and unleashed several shots in rapid succession toward him.

Qiao Zhiya dodged each shot, closing the distance while evading. When he was only about ten meters away from Irene, he suddenly put away his bow, pulling out a hammer and swiftly closing in on her.

Irene was busy putting away her handgun and hadn’t reloaded its energy bullets. She could only take out twin knives to defend herself.

The match began with intense long-range attacks from both sides, but after some probing, they quickly switched to close combat. All of this happened in less than a minute, with a very fast pace that immediately captured the audience’s attention. Their hearts raced as they followed the movements of the two contestants, not daring to divert their attention for a moment.

One clash, two clashes, three clashes… then it followed by an arc.

Qiao Zhiya’s mind flashed the recorded footage of Erin’s previous battles. He accurately dodged her rapid attacks and then suddenly jumped up. Stepping on the blade she swung at him, he swiftly ascended into the air. On his wrist, there was a small crossbow. He pointed his finger down and pulled the trigger.

With a barely perceptible sound of breaking through the air, a tiny crossbow bolt, minuscule compared to the mecha, flew directly towards the iron-grey mecha.

His movements were so subtle, and he was ascending rapidly. After firing the crossbow bolt, he immediately swung his hammer downwards towards Irene. The crossbow bolt seemed to have little effect, and no one, not even the audience or Irene, noticed this covert attack.

Irene immediately retracted her blade when her attack missed, rolling on the ground to evade the hammer strike. Suddenly, she pulled out her handgun and fired at Qiao Zhiya as he landed on the ground. Unbeknownst to anyone, she had already recharged her handgun’s energy.

Their distance was too close. Although Qiao Zhiya tried to avoid it, he still was shot. Fortunately, his mecha’s armor was strong enough, so despite being shot at such a close range, it didn’t leave much damage.

He pulled away quickly at the moment he was shot, then turned around and pulled his bowstring, releasing it in one go.

Irene narrowly dodged to the side, but the arrow still grazed her, visibly chipping away at the protective armor on her mecha’s arm.

——The heat energy of the arrow was too high.

In this series of attacks, they managed to hurt the other, but the damage wasn’t significant. So, they continue their barrages of attack, closing their distance.

The game was stuck in a stalemate – neither of them could hurt, nor could they find the weakness of the other.
