While they were speaking, soldiers from the Ning family and the Empire had already rushed over, bearing the irrational attacks of the frenzied Zerg. They were attempting to approach the brown mecha but were first thrown into disarray by the Zerg Queen’s erratic mucus spraying. Then, Fan Xiangnan arrived with his troops just in time to surround them tightly.

“Put a hypnotic wave!”

Fan Xiangnan shouted a command.

All soldiers responded in unison and retrieved specially designed barrels, aiming them at the mechas from the Ning family and the Empire, and started spraying indiscriminately. Strangely, these barrels didn’t seem to eject any substantial material. Instead, there was a strange fluctuation in the air, which seemed to be growing increasingly ominous.

Qiao Zhiya noticed this and glanced over there in confusion.

“It’s a hypnotic wave that only affects the spiritual sea. You can resist it as long as you lock your spiritual power, but the soldiers of the Ning family and the Empire are currently not right in their mind, so they won’t do that.” Chu Rong explained when he noticed that Qiao Zhiya was confused, then he tugged at the silver net, continuing, “Focus your attention and beware of ambush.”

Qiao Zhiya, feeling a bit embarrassed, snapped back to attention and tugged at the silver net in acknowledgment of Chu Rong’s warning. Then, he prepared to draw his bow again to continue attacking the abdomen and limbs of the Zerg Queen. Suddenly, a thought occurred to him. His ears twitched, and he glanced at the black-gold mecha engaged in front of the Zerg Queen. Stealthily, he extended his magic power.

An invisible wave of wood elemental magic slowly spread across the battlefield, growing denser and more soothing over time. The hypnotic effect became stronger and stronger. The Zerg covered by this magic seemed to be hypnotized, their attacks slowing down as if they were under some kind of spell.

The soldiers of the Chu family, who had to deal with both the Zerg and the forces of the Ning family and the Empire, immediately felt a significant reduction in pressure. Initially, they were somewhat puzzled, but then they looked proudly at Chu Rong, who was battling the Zerg Queen. Their fighting spirit soared even higher — it must be Marshal Chu’s threat to the Zerg Queen that weakened its control over these smaller Zerg! This alleviated the pressure on them! Marshal Chu is mighty!

Chu Rong, the only one who had sensed this power through their close companionship, glanced back at the seemingly distracted brown mecha. He first fired a few shots to fend off an attack from the Zerg Queen, then tugged at the silver net and switched to a separate channel for communication. He said, “Go back. No messing around.”

Qiao Zhiya snapped out of his reverie and quickly prepared to draw his bow again, explaining, “I won’t mess around. My magic can induce forced sleep, and it’s effective on animals as well. While the Zergs aren’t exactly animals, they’re still a form of life. So, I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be effective. Don’t worry, I know my limits. I’m just lending a helping hand to everyone.”

Chu Rong relaxed his furrowed brow upon hearing this and glanced back at the Chu family’s army, which had noticeably lightened up. After a moment of consideration, he said, “Act within your limits. Once the Zergs are reduced in number, retract your power immediately. This isn’t like the primitive planet; your power reserves are limited here.”

“I know.”

Qiao Zhiya quickly complied obediently and then skillfully shot an arrow into the joint of the Zerg Queen’s limb. He swiftly approached and adeptly grabbed hold of the limb, exerting force to pull it!

“Hss! Hiss hsshhh!!”

As the Zerg Queen’s pained screech rang through the battlefield, Ning Tianya gritted his teeth hard.

“The number of Zergs in the field is decreasing, and those soldiers whose minds are controlled are also useless. Let’s retreat!” Long Ruifeng had lost his previous confidence and arrogance. The sense of humility, once suppressed by the four major families, surged back, and he was single-mindedly thinking about escaping.

“Keep shouting like that, and I’ll kill you!” Ning Tianya couldn’t bear it any longer and angrily turned off the communication video. His eyes darted back and forth, observing the sluggish movements of the Zergs in the field, his fists clenched. “Something’s not right. There must be something wrong. The Zerg’s attacks shouldn’t be this weak and slow. What has Chu Rong done again? What has he done?”

He couldn’t help but angrily pound the control panel, startling the commander. Suddenly, the commander noticed something and exclaimed urgently, “Oh no! Marshal He’s army is starting to approach us! Wh…what are they trying to do?”

Upon hearing this, Ning Tianya quickly turned his head to look in that direction. Sure enough, he saw several dark blue warships representing Marshal He’s army approaching this side while clearing out the Zerg. Furrowing his brow, he thought of something and hurriedly looked towards the Imperial Royal flagship, where he just caught a glimpse of a squadron of gray mechas approaching the entrance of the Imperial flagship’s hangar.

This is bad! Chu Rong not only wanted to catch the Zerg Queen alive, but also wanted to catch the Emperor and himself!

Ning Tianya’s alarm bells rang loudly in his mind. He quickly commanded, “Fire! Open fire on them! Don’t let them get any closer!”

The commander’s forehead was covered in cold sweat. He knew the Chu family’s relationship with the Ning family had deteriorated to the point where there was no turning back. If they were captured, there would be dire consequences. Hastily, he redirected the flagship’s cannons to target the approaching dark blue warships.

Before they could even launch their attack, there was a deafening roar. Suddenly, the warships of the Xiang and Wei families launched a surprise attack, aiming their cannons directly at them. Each shot targeted their cannons, attempting to disable their flagship’s firepower.

“Damn it! Xiang-Wei, these two dogs! Fuck them!” Ning Tianya was angered.

On the other side, the Chu family flagship abruptly ceased its occasional attacks on the Zerg Queen. Instead, it redirected its cannons and opened fire directly at the Imperial flagship.

The true dogfight began as the elite soldiers of the Chu family clashed with those of the Ning family and the Empire in the field, occasionally having to deal with the increasingly sluggish Zerg. On the sidelines, the flagships of the Chu, Xiang, and Wei families began bombarding the Ning family’s and the Imperial flagships.

The warships commanded by Yuan Lie and He Hongjun lost control due to the Zerg Queen’s neural waves. Consequently, all combat personnel disembarked and engaged in battle. The forces of the He family charged towards the Ning family flagship, while a detachment from the Chu family rushed towards the Imperial flagship. Meanwhile, logistical personnel began transferring to the Chu family flagship.

In the midst of the chaos, the flagship of the You family remained eerily quiet, resembling an unmanned floating island, detached from the battlefield.

At the edge of the black hole, Qiao Zhiya once again tore off a limb from the Zerg Queen, only to find that half of the magic in his mana pool had been depleted. Glancing back at the battlefield, he noticed that after the Chu family had dispatched a team to the Imperial flagship, this side seemed to be struggling even more. Hesitating for a moment, he increased his magic output.

“Let’s finish it now!”

Suddenly, Chu Rong’s voice echoed through the channel. Without hesitation, Qiao Zhiya regained focus, swiftly drew his bowstring, aimed at the Zerg Queen’s slightly expanded mandibles after it grimaced in pain, and released the arrow.

The golden-compressed arrow, infused with a heat that seemed to scorch everything in its path, surged towards the Zerg Queen’s relatively small mandibles. Sensing the threat, the Zerg Queen attempted to evade, but Chu Rong immediately fired several shots at its abdomen, forcing it to maintain an upward posture. In this vulnerable position, it involuntarily swallowed the golden arrow.

“Hss! Hiss hsshhh!!”

The Zerg Queen stiffened for a moment before writhing in agony, as if something dreadful was wreaking havoc inside its body. Simultaneously, a nauseating slime began oozing from the wound where its limb had been ripped off, filling the battlefield with a foul stench.

Chu Rong immediately stepped forward and unleashed several shots at the Zerg Queen’s abdomen. With a loud bang, the heavily assaulted abdomen of the Zerg Queen finally ruptured, revealing a gaping hole. A large pile of unborn Zerg larvae spilled out from within – it was a densely packed white cluster huddling together, and seeing it was enough to send shivers down the spines of onlookers.

Enduring his disgust, Qiao Zhiya stepped forward and picked up several of the Zerg larvae, stuffing them into the compartment of his mecha.

With its shell breached, the eventual demise or capture of the Zerg Queen was inevitable. Seeing this scene, Ning Tianya gritted his teeth in frustration, realizing he couldn’t stubbornly drag on any longer. Today’s battle was lost the moment Chu Rong appeared. Eyes blazing red, he fiercely slammed the center button of the strange device and roared, “Retreat!”

The commander, harried by the bombardment from the Xiang and Wei fleets, breathed a sigh of relief at the order and promptly began executing the retreat command.

On the battlefield, the wounded Zerg Queen, pierced through the abdomen, was repeatedly shot with arrows. Its struggles grew weaker and weaker, and just when everyone thought it was nearly dead, it suddenly rose up again with a deafening screech, as if it were a last-ditch effort. Using its remaining limbs, it pressed against the edge of the black hole, and its body, which had been huddled in the hole all along, suddenly sprang out, heading straight for the black flagship!

“I-it came out!” Qiao Zhiya was shocked.

Chu Rong’s expression changed, and while chasing after the Zerg Queen, he commanded, “Lift off the flagship! Immediately!”

Upon receiving the order, the Chu family’s black flagship immediately ascended, narrowly avoiding a collision with the Zerg Queen. However, the formation of the Chu family’s army, which had been holding steady, was disrupted by the aftermath of the Zerg Queen’s charge.

“Soldiers, gather! Don’t disperse, but still avoid the Zergs!”

Chu Rong continued to command, suddenly releasing the silver net from his mecha’s waist. With a flick of his hand, he hurled the brown mecha, tethered to the other end of the silver net, in the direction of the Chu family’s army. Then, he faced the Zerg Queen alone, ready to confront it head-on even after its failed attempt to ram into him.

Qiao Zhiya was caught off guard and was steadied by Fan Xiangnan before he could regain his balance. Upon seeing this, he immediately wanted to follow and help, but he noticed that the drowsy Zergs – that were affected by his magic – began to stir again after the emergence of the Zerg Queen. Additionally, the Chu family’s army was struggling to cope as they had to deal with the burden of escorting the hypnotized prisoners back to their ship.

He hesitated for a moment but decided to stay, tossing out Qiuqiu and instructing it to expand and weave into a huge cage. Grasping one of the prisoners who had lost their ability to resist, he tossed them into the cage and loudly announced over the general channel, “We can put the prisoners in this cage! Split into two teams: one team to fight the Zergs, and one team to handle the prisoners!”

Upon hearing this, the soldiers of the Chu family were momentarily stunned. After a brief silence, they loudly responded in acknowledgment. Then, they quickly divided into two teams according to the Marshal’s command.

Qiao Zhiya was startled by the enthusiastic response of the burly soldiers, and his ears pricked up in surprise. The brown mecha visibly stiffened, making Fan Xiangnan chuckled, shaking his head as he approached and gave his mecha a gentle push, positioning him in the inner circle. Meanwhile, he faced the Zergs head-on and opened fire.

The giant Zerg Queen loomed. Its exoskeleton was as tough as grade ten materials. Allowing it to collide with the flagship at full force would result in unimaginable consequences. With a fierce aura, Chu Rong continued to fire his double-barreled gun without pause, each shot hitting the injured parts of the Zerg Queen’s body. This forced the creature to slow down, providing him with ample opportunity to leap onto its back. Drawing his short dagger, he pierced through the Zerg Queen’s hard shell. Guiding his mecha, he tore across its shell as if cutting through fabric, ruthlessly tracing a pattern of cracks left by the cannon fires.

“Hisss-sha-sha——”

A series of blade strikes against the metallic shell echoed out, accompanied by the splatter of viscous fluid from the Zerg Queen’s back as it was slashed open. This attack, resembling the peeling of metal, provoked the Zerg Queen into a frenzy. Unable to bear it any longer, it twisted its bulky body around and aimed directly at Chu Rong, abandoning the flagship, and unleashed a ferocious screech.

“Look! The black hole where the Zerg Queen stayed is shrinking!”

“Oh God! There are new black holes over the Ning family’s and the Imperial flagships!”

Two completely different messages were shouted out simultaneously by the team members on the general frequency channel. Qiao Zhiya was taken aback by the news and turned to look at the black hole where the Zerg Queen had been. Sure enough, he saw the black hole shrinking at a visible speed. Now, it had shrunk to a size that the Zerg Queen could never squeeze back into.

He suddenly remembered Chu Rong’s speculation about the “black hole” being an artificially created cosmic passage rather than a true black hole. He also recalled his own origins and desire to return home. With just a moment of hesitation, he swiftly grabbed one of the Qiuqiu’s vines and wrapped it around his waist. Then, without further ado, he charged straight towards the black hole!
