The sudden explosion that caused numerous  dead people threw the Imperial Army into confusion.

"What? It was a trap! Damn it!"

The imperial troops had not considered the possibility that it was a trap at all because their vision had been narrowed by the  words  "shifting magic circle". They assumed that the only reason they were running away was because they were afraid of them.

"Hey, captain! What should we do? Should we turn back? Or should we go after them?"

"............, take the wounded and withdraw.""

If  they  hadn't been blinded by immediate greed,  they  would have been able to see that it was a trap.

"There wasn't as much damage as I thought."

When Jex saw the imperial troops turning back, he complained that he hadn't been able to  deal with  a lot of peopple .

Jex's prediction that the enemy would bite if he flashed the bait transference magic was spot on, but it didn't produce the results he was expecting.

He  thought that the empire would want to get their hands on transfer magic, but surprisingly, they backed out easily

In Jex's opinion, they would force their way through even if they suffered some damage. After all, the imperial army was uncommonly large in number. So even if a few soldiers died, it would not hurt or itch.

It's not that easy, Jex realized.

"I was hoping to reduce the number a little more, but I guess it's not that easy.

"What should we do, captain? If they're gone, it's like we've done our job.

"We're going back , because we probably won't get  it work a second time. It would have been nice if we could have gotten a bigger result the first time, but apparently it's not that easy.

"All right. Then let's go back."

Although they were unable to produce any significant results, the hungry wolf troops were able to inflict some damage on the Imperial troops, and returned to Ze'at using the transfer magic  circle  that was set up in the forest.

After returning to Ze'at, the hungry wolf unit joined the Ze'at knight unit. They reported their survival to each other and then took a rest. While they were resting, Jex and Barbaroth exchanged information.

"Jex. How'd it go?""

"Ah, I tried to catch him with  bait of transference magic, but  they turned back surprisingly easily."

"What? So you didn't get  that much out of it?"

"Yeah. I was expecting  them to be a little more persistent, but I guess my instincts were wrong."

"Well, I guess it can't be helped. When they realize they're trapped, they usually turn back."

"Well, yeah. But that's what I was expecting."

"So the next question is..."

"That's right. I'm sure the Imperial Army will change their plans .  and realize that  we are  not opponent to be taken lightly."

"So the real battle is about to begin. ......"

"That's right. I'd like to  lern the general defeat the emperor as soon as possible.

"We'll just have to trust in  him and focus on protecting Ze'at."

"Right. Now, let's go report to our superiors."

The two of them went to Baynard and his team to report the victory of their first battle. They may have already been informed of the victory, but the two of them who were actually active in the field will need to report back.

The Kingdom's army was overjoyed to have won their first battle against the Empire. Their opponents were the strongest  army on the continent, a group that used weapons that the kingdom did not have.

No matter how many secret plans Barbaroto  and his men had, the leaders of the   Imperial Army expected that they would not stand a chance.

But what do you think? It was a great victory. They couldn't help but be happy about this.

What awaited them when they were called into the meeting room was a storm of praise.

The kingdom's military leaders praised the two for their spectacular battle results. On the other hand, the two who were supposed to be praised, though they didn't show it on their faces, were worried about the current state of the Army.

However, not all of the Army. There are people who properly understand the danger of the current situation. The two of them can rest assured that Baynard, the leader of the two, is the general-in-chief.

"Good work, both of you. You've done well."

"I'm honored by your praise!"

The two of them bowed, and Baynard continued.

"Well, thanks to the two of you, we won the first battle . But  real battle begin now  "

"The Empire has probably realized that we are a tricky opponent after this defeat."

"If that is the case, the next battle is sure  they wil  bring in more forces than this one. The fight tomorrow and beyond will be even tougher."

Baynard's words made the executives understand how dangerous the current situation was. Some of the more incompetent ones snickered when they heard his words.

"Huh. What are you talking about, ......?}

}Have you been blown away by a cowardly wind, Commander Baynard?"

Baynard raised one eyebrow at the comment, but decided to listen in silence without reply

"This victory has lowered the morale of the Imperial Army and raised ours. Then now would be the time to attack. If the Imperial Army is now afraid of us, they are no match for us!"

Some of them were incited by his bold statement. Some of them, perhaps emboldened by the victory, insisted that now was the right time.

It is true that they have a point, but the difference in strength is so great that even if they attacked, they would only be beaten  up . They have completely forgotten that.

It makes  his head hurt, but Baynard has to cool down this fever somehow. If he doesn't, some of them will go out of control. This is the only way to avoid that, Baynard thought to himself.
