Leold returns to the inn from the library and visits Sylvia's room. However, there is no answer when he knocked. So he asks the people at the inn if Sylvia has returned, and they tell him that she has not returned yet.

Once Leold understood this, he went back to his room and discussed with Gilbert and Barbaroto about what he had learned at the library.

"How much do you two know about the history of this world?"

"History? I would say about as much as is known to the public, I suppose."

'I am the same. It is only what I was taught when I was a child."

"You mean, like the wars of the gods?"

"Yes, that's right."

"I used to listen to them all the time. I love war stories and stuff."

"I see. ......"

Leold, knowing that both of them knew about the creation myth, put his hand on his chin.

(I knew it was common knowledge. So the Pope is trying to bring back the god of war. But what on earth is he up to?)

Leold thought desperately, but he still did not understand. The Pope's purpose was still a mystery to him, and he became more and more confused.

"Hey, Gil, Barbarot. If he's trying to bring back the god of war, what do you think his purpose is?"

"God of war? ......"

"Well, isn't that like fighting a war, after all? The god of war has started wars before."

"Well, it's common to think so. ......"

"Boy, why do you say that? "

"Hmm? Well, I was looking it up in the library, and I was wondering."

"Perhaps, Master Leold, you are going to worship the god of war rather than the goddess? Please don't do that. If you do that, you will be treated as an evil man".

As Barbaroto said, it is strictly forbidden by the church and the Holy Church to worship any deity other than the goddess. The gods of this world have already disappeared from this world, leaving only the goddess, so any worship other than that of the goddess is treated as heathenism.

That said, prayers to the earth, sea, and sky are often tolerated. That is because it is different from belief.

"Don't be silly. I don't even worship a goddess. The only people I believe in are myself and those whom I trust."

Leold knew that praying to God would not save him, and he did not worship the God of war or the Goddess .

The only people he can truly rely on are himself and his companions whom he recognizes. Other than that, Leold says, he is basically not to be trusted.

"Please don't talk about such things so openly. Boy. What would the priests of the Holy Land say if they heard you talking like that?"

"Well, I'll screw them over no matter what they say now."

Leold smiled fearlessly and was full of confidence.

"But even so, Jex and the others are late".

'Come to think of it, they are. I don't think they've been captured, so they're probably taking their time to gather information."

"Maybe they're just fooling around."

"Who says we're fooling around?"

Just when we were talking about Jex, he came back. Jex, who returned at the right time, heard Barbaroto's words and approached Barbaroto in a contentious manner. His appearance is like that of a thug you see on the streets.

'Ha ha ha, just a little joke.'

"What's a joke? You said it in a rather serious tone!"

As the two were about to start a fight, Leold called out to Jex,

, "Good to have you back, Jex. So, have you gathered any information?"

Jex, who had been glaring at Barbaroto, turned around when Leold called out to him. Jex grins and smiles when Leold asks him if the information gathering went well.

"Yes. I've been looking into Astraea, the candidate for saint, just like the chief told me to."

 Karen appeared beside Jex.

"Leold-sama. Where is Isabelle-san?"

"Hmm? Isabelle should be with Her Highness at Saint Anastasia's place. I have some questions I want to ask her. I can't do it myself, so I asked Her Highness to help me."

"I see."

'Is there something about Isabelle?"

"No, I was just wondering since she wasn't here."

'I see. So, Jex, Karen. Let's hear what you know about Astraea, the candidate for sainthood."

The information that Leold heard from them was generally the same as in the destiny 48 game.

Astraea is from a small village on the edge of the Holy Land. She is what is called a country girl, a village girl. Although her family was not very wealthy, she lived a happy life surrounded by her kind parents and cute younger siblings.

However, her life was changed drastically by an event. The lullabies that Astraea played to her little siblings had the effect of healing their wounds.

This made Astraea a celebrity, known even in the nearby villages. This was the beginning of her transformation into a saint.

Her songs became widely known for their ability to heal, and eventually reached the Holy City. Knowing the rumor, the Pope sent a holy knight to Astraea and invited her to the Holy City.

(Hmmm... ....... If it was destiny 48, it was a while after the Pope was defeated, but was it premature? No, probably not. Perhaps there were rumors in Destiny 48 as well. (t just didn't make it into the main storyline.)

Leold, who was somewhat perplexed by the differences from Destiny 48, but who had some idea of the path to take, decided to wait for Sylvia's return.
