BANG!

Hajin has deliberated for a long time about shooting himself. It starts when he receives Chae Nayun’s memories from Kum Seungyeon’s scheme. Perhaps, his suicide has been Kum Sungyeon’s goal all along. He holds a strong belief that should not be the case, and he must at least redeem the Hajin of the past iteration.

He convinces himself to do the right thing, but he is getting tired of it. That is why when Yi Yeonjun has told him about God being sealed inside him, and his trait of self-sacrifice, he has decided to end it all. It is not because he is choosing the easy way out, but sincerely, he thinks that this is the right choice.

The bullet from his Desert Eagle embeds itself into his temple, passes through his skull, and then into his brain. Kim Hajin ceases. He has returned to eternal blackness. If this is all a dream, he should be waking up now in his room. Or if he really has made the right choice, maybe he can meet the Co-Author for the first time.

But then it appears. Words interlink together to form a sentence.

[Perseverance is undervalued from the Original. Fails the Perseverance Check. Correcting the Attributes. Perseverance has been increased forcibly by two points.5000 SP has been deducted.]

“What is the meaning of this?”

[Setting Intervention has reset the World.]

From the empty blackness, Kim Hajin finds himself in a stasis. There is no end. There is no death. And when he finally takes back control of his being, he finds himself in a familiar place.

“No! I don’t even know how to play. The only game I know using this is solitaire.”

Hajin looks at Hyon Hyung explaining what the set of cards in his hands are for.

Hajin doesn’t understand. “How did it go? You suddenly vanished. Did the Chameleon Troupe ambush you?” He asks Hyon out of concern about whether their operation has succeeded.

Hyon Hyung confusedly replies. “What are you talking about?”

Hajin doesn’t understand. “I must be dreaming.”

Hyon Hyun continues on his request. “These cards are actually made of a Mythril alloy both flexible and tough. I want it modified…” Hajin listens to him blankly word for word.

Letting it all play out, Hajin is in a daze. Did he just return in time? He doubts it, but that seems to be the case. Hajin checks on his data from his smartwatch and learns he has two points higher in perseverance. He also recalls the message about [Setting Intervention] resetting the world.

“Hyon,” Hajin calls to his friend, while they walk side by side. “I think I regressed.”

“Huh? What? I cannot hear you.”

Hajin frowns. In his smartwatch is a message. [Insufficient authority.] It reads, telling him it won’t be possible for him to share his situation. Hajin tries other methods to inform Hyon of his predicament.

Thankfully, Hyon is very cooperative. But it is useless! Hajin has tried Morse code, email, writing it on paper, and even word guessing or other indirect measures! For some reason, it just cannot register to Hyon. Hajin is trying the same with his other friends' participation. Even his smarter compatriots the likes of Yeonha and Rachel, cannot understand the information he wishes to express.

Helplessly, he decides to pry the information from Yi Yeonjun directly. When he comes face to face with Yi Yeonjun again, he asks. “What is happening to me?”

Yi Yeonjun smiles. “You killed yourself, huh? I guess you still have the spirit of self-sacrifice. Unfortunately, your plot armor is too strong, or else you'd be dead already!” He says jokingly.

Hajin has to check it twice. Just to make sure, he shoots himself in the head again.

[Setting Intervention has reset the World.]

Hajin takes his situation more seriously. He learns that the gap between his death and his return to the past is exactly 24 hours. Rather than simple regression or time travel to the past, Hajin might actually be stuck in a loop.

With a more pragmatic approach, he decides to talk this time with Yi Yeonjun to gather more information.

“You killed yourself twice! Isn’t that neat?” Yi Yeonjun jeers at him.

Hajin is uncomfortable as Yi Yeonjun has a leg up against him in a war of information. “You can read the past iteration, can’t you? It wasn’t limited to the past timeline that only Chae Nayun knew. Through that [Book of Revelation], you knew I already killed myself twice.”

“Yes, you are practically unkillable. You are like Bell who could not die, but better!”

“Tell me more about it.”

Yi Yeonjun remains seated on his throne, while he shares what he knows. “This is the 666th Timeline. How about a Trivia? Shin Myungchul is 570th and Chae Nayun is 666th!”

“You meant I regressed, but I don’t remember it happening.”

“Of course, you wouldn’t remember because you are the 1st regressor. The source of everything! Sadly, my [Book of Revelation] only told the ending chapters of the New Testament. It would be nice if I had the Old Testament!”

“You said you want to awaken God inside me. What is God?”

Yi Yeonjun is stumped by the unexpected question. “I didn’t take you for a philosophical person. I really don’t know the answer, so don’t ask me. Just know that I have your best interest at heart. You want to go home, right? That’s the only way out.”

“What if I don’t want to go home?”

“Then the 666th loop will be eternal.”

“How?”

Yi Yeonjun grins madly. “The Judgement Day. You’d stop it, and you would succeed. But the method you choose is through resetting everything. This is my proposition. Take God’s mantle, relive the Seven Sorrows, and fight for Heaven. Only when someone wins the war will the world truly end. And then you will go home.”

“Since when are you a noble person? Don’t you want to see the world burn?”

Yi Yeonjun nods at Hajin’s words. “I am not noble. You are right, I want to see the world burn. To be more exact, I want this world to end.”

“…”

“You know this world is wrong, and it has to be corrected.” Yi Yeonjun's voice is grim. "Do the right thing."

Hajin shoots himself in the head the third time just to get away from Yi Yeonjun.

“I will be waiting for you.” This is Yi Yeonjun’s words to him as his mind slowly recedes into nothingness.

Hajin can hardly accept Yi Yeonjun’s words. After all, Yi Yeonjun is the villain, he is a madman, and he is the enemy! The danger of collecting information directly from Yi Yeonjun’s mouth is that Hajin might be misled.

In this version of the time loop, Hajin chooses to stay in [Under Cube] to wait for Hyon Hyung’s development after meeting Yi Yeonjun. Peculiarly, Yi Yeonjun doesn’t seem to know of Hyon Hyung’s existence given the Savant of Sloth’s appearance.

To Hajin’s surprise, [Under Cube] is attacked by Chameleon Troupe members. Hajin confronts Yi Byul, and her posse. Hajin kills Droon mercilessly and forcibly unsummons Mimyo, the deadly rabbit alien. He is also able to severely injure Cheok Jungyeon and kill Jin Yohan with Jonghak’s help.

In the end, Hajin is killed by Yi Byul.

When Hajin returns to the day before, he prepares traps within [Under Cube] in anticipation of an attack. Jonghak kills Jin Yohan with Hajin’s aid. And then Hajin suppresses Droon and Mimyo by sending them into another dimension using a specialized bullet. Hajin is able to immobilize Cheok Jungyeon and fight Yi Byul one-on-one. He barely wins, but he does not get anything. In the end, he is killed by a rampaging Jungyeon.

Hajin returns to a day before, once more. He waits it out in [Under Cube] incognito and does not interfere with the attack. He witnesses it all.

Jonghak is suppressed but isn’t killed.

Evandel, the little girl, however, has to be corrected.

When Evandel is attacked by Yi Byul, Hajin then learns what it means to be ‘corrected’ as Yi Yeonjun has made the same word choice. Hajin goes into a rampage and kills Yi Byul with Yeonha’s help.

It is useless.

After the futile fighting, Hajin shoots himself in the head and returns 24 hours to the past again. Hajin tries his best to gather more information about what Yi Yeonjun wishes to accomplish in his short-term goal. If Yi Yeonjun’s long-term goal is the end of the world, what is his short-term goal?

Hajin organizes the information he gathered from repeatedly going back in a day. [Under Cube] is attacked by Yi Byul’s team. Jain is the contact of Savant to Chameleon Troupe. Savant has met with an ambush of Chameleon Troupe members. Lancaster is in cahoots with Chameleon Troupe.

Yi Yeonjun is persistent.

Hajin realizes the futility of his actions when he tries to change something.

No matter what Hajin does, Yi Yeonjun doesn’t leave his throne room.

“I guess… I just have to make the best out of it.” Hajin returns to whence he met with Yi Yeonjun.

“I told you I will wait. And I waited. So what is your decision? If you want more time, I could wait for more. After all, time is not a problem for you.” Yi Yeonjun calmly sits on his throne.

“I will cooperate, but we will do it on my terms.”

“Gladly,” Yi Yeonjun maintains a neutral smile. “I will be at your disposal. No. The Chameleon Troupe will be at your disposal.”

Hajin doesn’t know enough. Clearly, Yi Yeonjun knows more. He has to pick them apart from him with time.

Alfir I really butchered the original with this chapter hahaha!
