After talking with the Queen, Fu Yan went towards the lift. Yslian followed behind him. When he got into the lift, Fu Yan did not know where to go, so he turned towards Yslian and said:
"Well, even though I said I want to explore on my own, I don't know much about your city. So tell me about it. How many floors are there in this mother tree of yours and how do you guys live here? I mean, how do you get food and energy?"
When Yslian heard this question, he politely bowed and started to explain the structure of the mother tree and the different races that were living here.
"Sir, The mother tree has a total of 15 levels and the top three are reserved for the Royal family and officials of the city. As for the remaining ones, they are assigned to different people based on hierarchy. From level 12 to level 7, officials or those related to them, live there and level 6 and lower belongs to the common people. People with some background prefer to live on level 7 or above as the danger level is lower there. The floor from which you came into the mother tree is the 4th level."
The general idea about this place came into Fu Yan's mind. He looked at Yslian and said.
"OK, go to the 7th floor, then. I would like to see the upper-level people of yours."
Yslian nodded and placed his hand on the wall of the lift. A slight noise came and Fu Yan could feel that the lift was moving. He then turned towards Yslian and asked.
"Well, I understand about the structure of your mother tree. Now tell me about the people who live here. I mean, are elves the only ones who live here or do other races live here too?"
Upon hearing the question, Yslian started to explain again.
"Sir, there are a total of seven races who live here aside from elves. Based on the hierarchy, we are at theon top, and others are Yelids who come second, Vogers third, and Korots, Zugbits, Druris, Drirots, and…" he paused while saying the last one.
Fu Yan looked at him and asked with a smile.
"Why stop? What race is the last one?"
Yslian took a deep breath and continued.
"The last one and lowest in the hierarchy are Avers. They live on the lowest level of the mother tree. I hope this doesn't offend you as Avers is the same race as Sir. I mean you belong to the Avers."
Sweat started to appear on Yslian's forehead after he said this. Fu Yan smiled when he saw this, noticing that Yslian was getting nervous, he added.
"Don't be nervous, I don't care if I belong to the Avers or not. You have your system for creating hierarchy, so I won't interfere with that. I only care about my work and that's that. As long as someone doesn't mess with me, I won't become hostile or anything, so relax."
Yslian nodded upon hearing this and his tense body started to relax little by little. While they were talking, the lift reached the 7th floor and Fu Yan exited.
When he came outside, he saw a bustling town with people walking here and there. It was similar to a modern city from the 1900s on earth. There were streets filled with people and different stalls on the sides of the roads. Unlike level 4, the buildings here were tall and went up to 5 floors. Fu Yan looked around with interest because it was his first time seeing different races working and walking together. There were elves, bird people, people with skin that looked like wood and he even saw a woman with butterfly wings walking around.
"Truly a utopia for different races. It was worth coming here to see. This is really a sight to behold." Fu Yan exclaimed as he looked around.
After he was done admiring the sight before him, he noticed that all people had stopped walking and were looking at him with weird gazes. Some were hostile and some were curious. Fu Yan turned towards Yslian and looked at him with a questionable gaze.
Yslian seemed to understand the meaning and hurried forward to explain.
"Sir, they are looking at you like this because you look like those from Avers. Avers are not allowed to go beyond level 2 so they are surprised to see you on level 7 but don't worry, as long as I am here, no one will dare to cause any disturbance for you."
Fu Yan nodded and then started to walk towards a building that looked like a restaurant. When he walked in, he got the same reaction as he got on the street and he even saw two guards walking towards him but when they saw Yslian with golden armor behind him, they stopped and turned around.
Fu Yan walked towards a table and decided to try the food here. Just when he was about to sit down, Yslian came near him and spoke with a soft voice.
"Sir, if you don't mind then I think it would be better if you go to a private room to eat because that way no one will be able to disturb you and you can enjoy your meal with peace."
Fu Yan gave a nod and Yslian led him towards a private room that was further in the restaurant. When they reached the room, suddenly a siren-type sound started to echo in the whole area.
Yslian looked around and then guided him into the room. After seeing that Fu Yan did not dislike the room and sat down, he gave a bow and asked in a polite tone.
"Sir, if you don't mind then I would like to go to the security center and see what this commotion is about. You can dine in the meantime and I will be back in just 15 to 20 minutes. I will talk to the owner here and will make sure that you can enjoy your meal without any interruptions."
Fu Yan did not say anything and just waved his hand. Yslian bowed and then hurried outside. Fu Yan sat down on the sofa type chair which was very comfortable and closed his eyes. After 5 minutes, the owner of the restaurant came in with different types of dishes. Some were vegetables and others were a strange type of meat.
After placing the dishes, he bowed and exited the room.
Fu Yan looked at the dishes with interest and just when he was about to take a bite, he heard a commotion outside.
He could hear shouts and the tapping sound of boots echoing in the hallway. Just when he was wondering what was all this about, the door opened and a small figure hurried in. This person was so fast that Fu Yan could only see that he had a small body and that's it. This figure came in and then hid behind one of the sofas.
The door closed automatically and silence engulfed the room. Fu Yan could hear the rapid sound of breathing coming from behind the sofa and from this, he came to know that this figure or the person was a child. He was hiding behind the sofa while shaking. It was clear that he was exhausted.
Fu Yan smiled and then chose to ignore it. He picked up a piece of the meat and took a bite. The moment the meat went inside his mouth, he felt as if he was eating a piece of ice that slowly melted inside his mouth.
"Now this is a slice of strange meat. It's cold but tasty and is very soft. I think I will take some of it back with me to try later." Fu Yan thought while chewing on it. He then raised his hand to pick up a piece of vegetable when he heard a knock on the door.
"Open the door, we are the guards. We want to search this room. If you don't open the room in 1 minute then we will break in and you will be charged with interfering with official work."
Fu Yan frowned when he heard this and after thinking for a bit, he chose to ignore it and picked up the strange piece of vegetable to try.
