Looking at the red screen in front of him, Fu Yan could not help but feel frustrated and angry. Unable to control his emotions, he slammed hard on the desk in front of him, making a loud bang echo throughout the Library.
This broke the silence in the Library, with everyone looking towards the source of the sound but upon seeing Fu Yan, no one questioned anything and got back to their work.
Coming back to his senses, Fu Yan looked around with some embarrassment for failing to control his emotions but quickly composed himself and concealed it.
He looked towards the warning once again and frustration started to build up inside his heart again but this time, he controlled himself.
[Librarian level does not meet the requirement]
The data was about how the previous Librarian met their demise. Fu Yan had a hunch that he might find whatever he was looking for here but upon trying to access it, he suddenly got that warning.
"Level this, Level that. I can't do anything here until I have enough authority. I am C+ Librarian. Do the Library want me to reach [A] or [S] level before allowing me to gain access. Can I live that long without knowing who is after my life?" Fu Yan muttered while giving a deep gaze to the red flashing screen in front of him.
After some time passed, he let out a sigh and closed the screen. He knows that there is no use getting angry over this because anger would change nothing.
Even though he said that his mind was still ready to accept that even being a Librarian, he was still denied access to information in the Library. Trying to distract himself, Fu Yan opened another screen and clicked on the borrowed book section, finding Lihi's name, he clicked on it.
Updating the information about the book, Fu Yan confirmed it. Immediately after that, one of the collectors walked up to him and stopped after reaching the desk.
Seeing this, Fu Yan stood up and walked toward it. Reaching it, Fu Yan walked towards its backside and placed his hand on the scanner.
After the scanning was completed, he unloaded the energy tank and walked towards the backside of his desk.
Reaching there, Fu Yan looked at the screen in front of him and tapped on it. A white light scanned his body, confirming his identity, a small space appeared in front of him and he placed the container in it.
Finishing with this, Fu Yan let the collector go back to his station and tapped on the screen to call the other collector.
While waiting for the other collector, Fu Yan added details regarding the energy obtained. As for the notification that popped up, he decided to ignore them for the time being and focus on the task on hand first.
Just when he finished, he saw the second collector walking towards the desk. Standing up, Fu Yan walked towards it and repeated the same procedure of unloading the container, and walked behind the desk.
But this time he did one thing differently. Instead of loading the container in the small space, he clicked a green button next to it.
The space immediately closed and another one popped up. After that, he followed the same procedures and finished up, walking towards his seat.
"I don't know why they make me personally load the obtained energy." Fu Yan muttered as he opened the notification screen to see what rewards he got.
When he looked at the screen, he was surprised to find that his level had increased from C+ to B+. A direct increase of a whole level.
Pleased with this, Fu Yan decided to see other details when he suddenly felt a buzzing feeling inside his brain. When he tried to understand what was happening, he heard the sound of his heart beating.
Placing his hands around his head, his heart sent out a storing beat again. It was as if his body was pulsating along with the heart.
Looking around, he felt as if the scenery around him was zooming and then fading along with the beat.
Trying to stand up, Fu Yan gripped the side of the table and applied some force but before he could finish, a shockwave traveled through his body and he started to lose consciousness.
Darkness engulfed his brain as he fell into a deep sleep because his body or more precisely his brain was undergoing an extreme modification.
Previously his level increased slowly and step by step so the impact was not that obvious but now suddenly an increase of a whole digit level, his body was not ready for the reward.
Just when he was about to lose consciousness, he heard Casper's voice. Opening his mouth, Fu Yan tried to call him but lost consciousness completely before he could do it.
Even though Fu Yan had lost consciousness, he could still feel his surroundings. It was as if everything was a dream. For a while, Fu Yan felt as if he was burning in a fire or being roasted. He resisted and tried to run but it was to no avail.
Fire was everywhere. No matter what he looked like, it was just the sea of fire. Feeling desperate, he ran as fast he could but it was to no avail.
Suddenly while running he slipped and found himself in a pool of water. The water was so cool and sweet that Fu Yan found his body cooling down and felt relaxed.
Then the scenery changed and he found himself in his old house where he lived along with his parents and Jing.
While he was looking around trying to understand what just happened, his dad called him.
"Fu Yan, why are you standing there? Come here quickly or else the food is going to get cold."
Hearing this, Fu Yan looked at his body and found himself returned to his childhood body. Still puzzled about what was happening, Fu Yan looked at his dad's face with confusion. Just when he was about to open his mouth to ask a question, Jing spoke in her cute and innocent voice.
"Brother Fu, is something wrong?"
She looked towards him with her cute eyes filled with innocence. Seeing this Fu Yan forgot whatever he was going to ask and walked towards the table with a smile.
Reaching his sister, Fu Yan rubbed her head and let out a chuckle. Jing also laughed in return and Fu Yan sat beside her.
Eating the meal, Fu Yan conversed with his family and laughed from time to time as for everything else, he regarded it as a bad dream even though it felt real.
Looking at his family and them having a warm dinner while talking happily, he felt pretty content with it and didn't want anything else.
Finished with the dinner they cleared the table and his mom asked what he wanted for dessert and Fu Yan turned to ask Jing what she wanted.
Jing closed her eyes and started to think hard about what she wanted. Fu Yan looked at this and let out a chuckle because Jing would always think hard about what she wanted to eat for dessert but end up choosing the same thing she ate previously anyways.
Seeing him laughing, Jing opened her eyes to look at him innocently wondering why he was laughing but Fu Yan laughed harder.
The warmness of being with the family, he always loved it and wanted it to stay this way. Seeing Jing closing her and still thinking, Fu Yan walked towards the sofa to sit down when the scenery in front of him flickered and suddenly he heard a childish voice.
"Don't let him succeed! Fight him!"
