Inside the office, Dumbledore and the woman got embarrassed. To ease it, Dumbledore waved his hand and the door opened again. On the other side, Magnus simply stood, with his toothy, mocking smile plastered on the face.

Dumbledore knew this kid was just messing with him. "Come in, Mr Pendragon, meet Lady Emmeline Vance. She is a very talented witch."

The old woman stood up and bowed her head, "It's an honour to meet you, your majesty."

"Likewise, Miss Vance." He greeted back.

"So, what did you want to talk about?" Dumbledore asked.

Magnus silently shook his head, while staring at him. Emmeline Vance took the cue and proceeded to leave, "I will head out now, Albus. The dinner is also about to be served. Your Majesty, see you later."

She left through the door. Seeing only that they were there now, he took out the book from his robes and placed it on the table, "Professor, what is this book doing in the restricted section?"

Dumbledore became serious as soon as he saw the name of the book. "This book... did you read it?"

"Of course I did. It has the whole process of how to make Horcrux. I can't believe you let this exist in the library. I personally know a few Ravenclaw seniors breaking into the restricted section and reading books. There is nothing restrictive about the restricted section." Magnus narrated his experience.

Dumbledore nodded and dourly warned him, "Do not ever try to make a Horcrux, Magnus. NEVER!"

Magnus scoffed, "I am not a fool, professor. I am better than that, besides, I don't want to be immortal. Just by being a wizard, I can live a few hundred years, I think that will be enough time to do everything and experience everything. Anyway, I want to take this book and store it in Merlin's vault. That's the safest place for it to exist."

"Why not keep it in my office?" Dumbledore had other thoughts.

Magnus strongly opposed this, "No, you won't be a professor forever here. What if someone like him becomes the Headmaster someday?"

He pointed to a portrait of Phineas Nigellus Black. The painting though seems to be offended by this. "THIS IS SLANDER! I would never let anyone read that book. I was loved by my students, just so you know."

Magnus tiredly rolled his eyes, "Yeah yeah... Arthur told me about your great exploits, creating a hunting squad to find and catch couple students for even holding each other's hand. Making muggle-born students sit at the back of the class, with the pureblood at the front and half-blood behind them. You were as scummy as they come. Huh, loved by students my as... buttocks." he changed the last word under scrutinising gaze of the old Dumbledore.

Dumbledore sighed, "As sad as it may seem, you are right, Magnus. Phineas Nigellus Black was one of the darkest marks in the history of Hogwarts."

"I CAN HEAR YOU, YOU KNOW!" Phineas Nigellus Black shouted from the side.

"So what? You're dead." Magnus blurted, shutting him up and making the portraits near him laugh.

"What do you say, professor? Should I put it in Merlin's vault?" He asked.

Dumbeldore silently stared at Magnus' face. He was not using Legilimency, he had no doubt that he would fail and end up destroying the relation he has. He was just trying to read his face like most normal people.

He understood that Magnus was young, and young people do stupid things often. He just didn't want Magnus to do something that he'd regret forever.

"Fine, but not today. It's time for dinner. Leave the book here until then." he put it on the bookshelf and led Magnus out.

Magnus left him and went alone, as he couldn't be seen as too close to Dumbledore, otherwise everyone will start suspecting he was receiving favours even when he has worked hard for the awards.

...

"SHUT UP! This is your last warning. If you try to act smart you know what will happen."

Magnus was on his way when he heard the loud angry whispers. He peeked from the corner of the turn in the corridor. He was shocked to see Severus being held from the collar by Evan Rosier, a 6th-year member of the Gang of Slytherins. There were three more standing behind him.

Seeing his friend in trouble, he jumped into action. "Oye... you damn pigs, always coming in groups and thinking you're stronger. Come here, fight me if you have guts."

Evan Rosier sneered looking at him. He released Severus, "Soon, mud-blood, soon."

They started to leave hastily after that. No matter what, Magnus was still scary, as he was the undisputed champion of the Duelling Club. "Yes, run away, you inbred morons."

Magnus ran to Severus, "What the hell, Sev. Since when have they been bullying you? What did they want?"

Severus actually felt anger. He was tired now, the mental pressure was too much for him. He didn't want to reveal Magnus' secrets to the Dark Lord, but at the same time didn't want to endanger his mother's life. He was frustrated, angry, at himself and at Magnus for not looking into his head quickly.

"Nothing, they just wanted some potions made. I rejected them and they got a bit hyper. Let's go, it's dinner." Severus moved first.

Magnus silently followed with a conflicted mind, ~Severus, if you don't tell me what's going on, I will be forced to use Legilimency.~

Magnus sat down in his seat, beside him were Emma and Ragnar. Dinner wasn't on the table yet as teachers hadn't come. So he took the muggle newspaper and started reading.

Today was 13th September. On the first page was the news from half across the world, a South American country called Chile. Turns out, A military coup d'état took place in the small country against the democratically elected Popular Unity party's government, President Salvador Allende killed himself after giving his final speech live on-air, as the air raids were going on.

What was Allende's fault? He was a socialist, a popular one at that. And as expected, what did the United States do? The economic war was ordered by U.S. President Richard Nixon. And now, as the Military rules the country, led by a committee of military leaders commonly called a junta, was promptly recognised as the main government of the country by the Nixon administration. Funny how champions of freedom were happy with a military dictatorship.

~Way to go, world's keeper of peace, another country destroyed. I wonder if they also meddle in British elections?~ he turned the page and read other news.

The next news was about his own family. It stated that a detailed investigation took place and it was found out that IRA specifically chose this day to bomb the train station because every year Magnus leaves for school on this date. But it was confessed that it was not their intention to kill the royal family, only scare them.

~Hmm, how do I end this mess? Do the Irish people condone this violence? The people of Ireland are Catholic Christians and the ones in Northern Ireland are Protestant Christians, the same as most people in the United Kingdom. Do the people of Ireland want the north to join them? Because that would only cause more violent conflict among themselves. Hmmm... religion.... what a mess.~ he got frustrated and closed the paper and turned to his left.

"So, Emma Vanity, how are your days going? What's the news from the girls' dorm? Now that Narcissa isn't here, does anybody try to bully you?" He asked.

Emma was on cloud nine, seeing Magnus was worried for her. "Well, not since you threw that party. Now, everybody wants to be my friend and get close to you. Oh, I have some juicy news for you, one of the 7th year girls is mad in love with you. She has bought a lot of posters with your face and posted them in her room. Nobody sleeps with her room anymore."

"Where did she even get my photo from?" Magnus asked her, frustrated by just thinking about the girl.

Ragnar scoffed from his side. He took out the Magical Daily paper, "Look at this, THE WHOLE DAMN FIRST PAGE! She can have as many posters of you as she wants man. Your photos are nearly in a paper every day."

Magnus looked at the title of the news article, written by Rita. "HIS MAJESTY! LOVED BY THE ANGELS! His majesty makes history, the youngest person to cast a corporeal Patronus!"

Magnus though was dissatisfied, "Argh..."

"Yes, you should indeed be frustrate..."

Ragnar was cut short by Magnus' grunting, "Umm... She could've used a more handsome picture of mine. My jaw looks weird in this."

Ragnar's mouth remained open in shock. "THIS IS WHAT WORRIES YOU?!"

...

The deepest part of Forbidden Forest.

"Great Dark Lord, please have a seat. How may we help you?" a man, in a very dirty dress, bowed in front of Voldemort's tall form.

Voldemort took a seat and disgustedly looked at him, "As you requested, I have decided to give you a chance to prove your loyalty to me."

"MY LORD! ANYTHING YOU SAY! JUST ORDER!" the man kneeled.

"I am going to need you to command your tribe and wait for my orders. On the 31st of October, near the Hogsmeade village." Voldemort ordered him and proudly walked away from the small hut.

The man remained kneeling, "Yes... Yes, my lord."
