Chapter 275: New Invention

Nobody knew what had happened to Narcissa, and nobody really cared. Not her family, not her sister. Magnus was busy with his own things and had no time to even think about her.
But even if he knew it at this point, he had no reason to help her by going out of his way. She was not Narcissa Black now. She was Narcissa Malfoy.
In Hogwarts, these days were like festivals every day. Because Magnus was training the Hogwarts team, all of them would get really hungry by dinner, and for that Dumbledore made sure good food was provided in dinner. Not just that, after Magnus announced the party on Halloween night, all were excited. They started planning for their scary costumes.
The muggle-borns were the most creative while others didn't have much contact with scary beings other than a few magical ones. They didn't have movies or comics after all.
Magnus was still arming himself to teeth and making plans on how to inflict as much damage on Death Eaters as possible.
He guessed that most likely Voldemort didn't know that he knew about his plan. So Voldemort would be overconfident, expecting no resistance. But he will be coming up with plans.

15th October,
Magnus and Ragnar were successful in creating the Boggart artefact. A new invention that was meant to be kept as a secret. After all, if people knew such artefacts could be made nobody would take their fears seriously.
What they made was a locket with a seal on it. It had something like a shutter on it that could be opened by the owner's intent. (Imagine Eye of agamotto but with a Boggart instead of Time Stone.)
"You know what, we should go ahead and try this on a few people and see if it works," Ragnar suggested. Now, sure they knew it worked, they were just being slimy bastards.
So they went out to the hallway from where most students would go to their different classrooms. They waited there for a while for the classes to end and the hall to get swarmed by people.
"Okay, rules, one, let's not become someone's bad memory. We don't want a kid to remember his dead dog or anyone. Second, if we see someone being too scared to the point they would pass out we would stop." Magnus quickly laid out some rules.
Ragnar wholeheartedly agreed with them, "Yes, let's do that. Oh, they're coming."
Their biggest targets were the Gang of Slytherin members. Magnus and Ragnar would not show them any mercy at all.
"AAAAAA..." Soon the first scream came as a girl saw Magnus as a snake. Surprisingly, a lot of people in all houses except Slytherin were afraid of snakes. The girls took the majority in that ranking.
The boys, though, were scared of various different things. Ranging from clowns to their mother and even puppies. Seriously, who fears puppies? Magnus wanted to see in that guy's head to see what made him like this but he stopped himself.
Eventually, he found his first target. Mulciber II, aka the pervert of Slytherin. He was in 4th year right now and has a reputation for harassing girls and trying to touch them. Of course, he was sent to detention many times but nothing changed. Suspending students was not his authority and the board of governors were incompetent.
Magnus wanted to see what it was that scared the boy. So he went ahead stood on the side, in the way of his path. All that was needed was that he sees him.
And what happened next shocked him. Mulciber II ran away like no tomorrow, he didn't look back and screamed the whole way "NO UNCLE!". Magnus was confused because he was just looking like some random old man, nothing even scary.
A distance from Magnus, Ragnar was busy terrifying the Gryffindor Four. All four had different fears. Remus was of course afraid of the full moon. This was understandable.
Next was James, surprisingly, James was afraid of seeing his friends and family die. It never seemed like he really cared about anyone but himself.
Peter, on the other hand, was scared of his friends discarding him or making fun of him for being pathetic. It was imaginable as Ragnar knew Peter was a depressed, scared guy with no self-esteem.
The most shocking though was Sirius. Ragnar was shocked at how similar it was to Magnus. Since he turned out to be scared of himself too. He was scared that he would turn into a dark wizard like his sisters and as his family desired. So what he saw was a version of himself wearing all black clothes, long black hair and a crazed face.
"Poor guy, his family really terrifies him," Ragnar pitied him, but ignored him soon to find other targets. He knew what Emma feared so there was no point in that, but there was also Lily. So he went to her. Soon, she was in front of him, with Severus beside her.
This one left him in laughter. Lily feared failing an exam and she also feared him, that he would someday become so advanced in potions that she could never catch up.
"Oh little girl, who's gonna tell you, I'm already light years ahead of you." He chuckled at her nativity.
That whole day, lots of students in the school were annoyed by sudden nightmares becoming a reality, lots of screams and cries echoed. Many teachers suspected that it was a Boggart on the loose.
But after looking everywhere they did not find it anywhere. How could they? Magnus and Ragnar had stopped their prank spree and returned to their dorms.
"HAHA... it was really fun, did you see professor Flitwick's fear? He was scared that a giant would mistakenly stop on him." Ragnar burst into laughter and laid down on his bed.
Magnus chuckled and responded, "Haha, that's just opposite of Hagrid. He fears that he might step on a little kid or animal mistakenly. (A/N: Hagrid has not seen Voldemort yet.)
"Man, I can't wait to use this in a fight. This thing will work even better than stunning charm on enemies." Ragnar planned.
*Door Opens*
Severus entered, Ragnar and Magnus stopped talking about their new invention right then. They were waiting for something to happen so they could officially talk to him about his situation but it never happened.
"What? Why are you looking at me like this?" Severus asked them.
Magnus chuckled, "Oh, we're just looking at the guy who got a tight hug from his crush."
"Yes yes... I remember it, 'NO! NEVER!' Lily was scared for some reason and jumped in his arms. Definitely suspicious. What did you do, Sev?" Ragnar accused him.
Severus blushed but then it hit him, "Wait... it was you two? And you were the one behind everything?"
They nodded, "Yeah, it was just a prank. But no need to thank us." Ragnar patted his shoulder while winking.
"Yup, don't mention it. Don't you remember what I said once? We're brothers, I always got your back. Let's go, Ragnar. We should go and meet the elfs to decide the menu of Halloween Slytherin's private party." Magnus dragged Ragnar away.
Severus stood there conflicted, ~Did he just...?~

Magnus chuckled and responded, "Haha, that's just opposite of Hagrid. He fears that he might step on a little kid or animal mistakenly. (A/N: Hagrid has not seen Voldemort yet.)
"Man, I can't wait to use this in a fight. This thing will work even better than stunning charm on enemies." Ragnar planned.
