That night, Magnus returned home feeling sad but also light. He had finally dealt with the only incalculable threat that was the hardest to predict. He could predict the world economy, but predicting when your enemy was going to strike was the hardest.

Here, he only won because of his elaborate plans and spies. Of course, he had a few in Voldemort's ranks, they were not in the inner circle but they would still always know when something big was about to happen.

He went to his mum in the Underground lab where she was working to keep her mind off things. He just sat down on a chair beside her and talked, "Remember once I told you that the magical world is not so magical?"

She stopped doing her work and focused on what he said. "Of course, you were very sad that day,"

He smiled, "I think I've made it truly magical for Max, Aurelia and Clem, and all coming generations. I kept so many things secret from you when I used to tell you about my days before Hogwarts like a rambling duck.

I won't hide anything today. The first time someone tried to kill me was in my first year. But I was strong, I killed them instead. There was a Dark Lord called Voldemort, see him as a magical Hitler. He considered me impure because I come from a family of non-wizards. He had been terrorising the entire country for years. He tried to kill me many times and failed.

"He had cheated death by splitting his soul into pieces so he wouldn't ever physically die. But today, I finally killed him. Honestly, it was very easy, I was too strong for him. And I just want you to know that I am not weak, I now stand at the peak of magical power around the entire world.

"So, please don't worry too much from now on, your son has grown up..."

He wanted to say more, but Grace hugged him, patting his back and caressing his hair, "I'm your mother, silly. No matter how old you get, you will always be a baby to me. I always had confidence in you, but how could I ever be at ease knowing you were living in danger?

"You defeated a magical Hitler? That's good, you saved the world, not just yourself. You should forever be proud of it because I am and always will be."

Magnus hugged her tight, his entire life flashed in front of his eyes, the day he lost his mum and found that tree, the day his destiny changed. The day he met Ragnar, Severus and the day he first kissed Emma. All these moments defined his life.

In the embrace of his mother, even he felt safe and strong. For this family and happiness, he'd do anything, there was no denying that.

"Thank you, mum."

"Hey, no thanks for such things. I'm sure your dad also feels extremely proud of you, but *sigh* Men, they are always embarrassed when expressing real feelings," She sighed.

Magnus giggled and responded, "But I'm not, I love you, dad and my siblings."

"What about Emma?" Grace asked, looking into his eyes.

He averted his gaze, his face turning red, "Yes, her too."

...

The news that Voldemort was a half-blood and not a pureblood descendant of Slytherin was a great shock to a great many families, especially those who had overzealously supported the Dark lord, lost their entire fortunes and even some family members in doing so.

It was the ultimate eye-opener, the person they were praying to as if he was a god turned out to be a scammer. And now, Magnus' justice was falling over their heads. All their assets were taken, families sent to prison, their vaults sealed. They were put on SDW List, fully known as Suspected Dark Wizard. This brought them under strict Ministry Auror's eyes.

Heck, the entire family of Death Eaters were thrown in jail. The whole existence of the ideology that Voldemort created was being cleaned off.

One of the worst-hit families was the Black family, who spent everything they had but now were left with nothing. Whatever was left was now under Regulus' possession, while the only other registered member left alive was Walburga Black, mother of Sirius and Regulus.

She was broken and scared at this point and quickly called for her two sons. As soon as they arrived, she rushed to hug them, crying, "Please, forgive me,"

Sirius didn't, nor did Regulus, they just decided to not be hostile towards her anymore, but if she returns to being a mad blood supremacist, then they'd not see her again.

...

Potter Home,

The house seemed extremely empty with there only being Lily. She had sent Harry Potter to live with his grandparents. It was better to live with Mr and Mrs Potter now to give the boy a better life. She too will move out soon.

At this time, there was only one friend who helped her, the first wizard friend she ever had, the same one she pushed away.

Severus was there, helping her pack her stuff and leave. He didn't really have feelings for her anymore, nor did he care about Harry Potter. He was here just as a person who had known Lily. He thought he could help in this time of need.

"What about this thing? Do you want it packed?" Severus asked her.

She nodded silently. Not speaking much in fear that it would make her burst into tears. Severus also helped without asking many questions. Soon, in an hour or so, the house was emptied. There was nothing but strange silence left.

"What are you going to do with the house?" Severus inquired.

"I will keep it, maybe one day Harry will want to see this place. Thank you, Sev. I don't know what I will do now... everything has just... so much has changed all of a sudden. Here I was welcoming a new life and now, trying to say goodbye to it." She muttered.

Severus had no idea to console someone but he tried his best, "You know, when my mum was kidnapped by Voldemort and I could not do anything to save her. I betrayed Magnus and he knew it, yet he saved her and taught me the value of true friendship.

"So, knowing you don't really have many friends, just know if you need help sometimes, you have me." He tried to make her feel better.

Lily picked a locket with her and James' photo and looked at it. She turned around, eyes were swollen from crying, but again her tears fell. She walked to Severus and just hugged him, "Thank you, those words mean a lot."

Severus was taken aback, yet he hugged her back and patted her head, "You should go now, Harry must be looking for his mother. And if you ever need a job, my shop is always in need of a top potioneer."

*Sniff* She quickly rubbed her eyes clean and forced a smile, "How do I look?"

"Like a Tarsiers, as if tour eyes will pop out at any moment," he replied.

She shook her head, speaking with a chuckle, "You and your brutal honesty. See you, Severus. Take care,"

"You too," he waved and saw her apparate away. Now, he was all alone. The thought did come to his mind, that what was all this for? She rejected him just to marry a guy who died in a year. But, he told himself, "Forget it, she's not worth it anymore. She made a choice and she's living with it. I should too... Maybe... it's time I also look for someone."

"WOAH! Is my little Severus finally grown up?" Magnus appeared outside the house.

"You heard me?" Severus was annoyed.

"Yup, the entire part, until the "I should look for someone." You know, maybe Emma can organise a date for you with one of her friends. Who wouldn't want to date you at this point, you're filthy rich," Magnus suggested.

Severus scoffed, "I'm looking for a partner who can mentally support me, not a hooker. Why are you here?"

"I came to make sure she's okay. A lot of people make stupid decisions when they are mentally vulnerable. I didn't want her to do that. Her son needed her," he replied.

Severus saw a hint of disappointment in Magnus' voice, "Mag, us three should start looking for a cure for your infertility seriously now."

"Yeah, I guess we should." Magnus hummed in agreement.
