Chapter 21: Next Stop: London!

"Are you referring to the two songs in "The Lion King" script?" Angela asked, her emerald eyes widening with a bewildered expression.

It was no surprise that she reacted this way because she had actually forgotten that she had written the theme songs for "The Lion King" in the script. It wasn't until George brought it up now that she realized her mistake. Deep inside, she regretted it immensely. The styles of these two songs were vastly different. While some people believed she could have written "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" the style of "Circle of Life" was especially incredible, particularly the opening segment.

"Yes, both songs are fantastic, and everyone believes they would perfectly complement the animation," George nodded.

"I wrote them and put a lot of effort into it," Angela admitted, acknowledging her work. If she didn't admit it, how could she come up with another author out of thin air?

"That's great. If possible, we would like to buy them," George said, spreading his hands.

"Well, Mr. Wells, you should discuss this with my agent Mr. Sparrow, shouldn't you?" Angela shrugged.

"Yes, I know. I will. But before that, I have a question," George touched his nose and took a deep breath. "Angela, based on what I observed the night before last, you have a great passion for music. You have a good understanding of various musical instruments, and your voice is quite enchanting. Have you ever considered releasing an album?"

As someone who had been reborn once, Angela knew what he wanted to say when George mentioned having a question. She knew she had stood out too much the night before, and today he even asked about the two songs from "The Lion King." But she wasn't in the mood to discuss this now. Her top priority was to quickly figure out how to come up with answers to questions about the inspiration and emotions behind her creation of "Circle of Life."

"Regarding that, I haven't considered it yet, at least not now. Let's finish shooting this movie first," the little girl pointed to the busy crew preparing for the shoot.

However, George seemed to have anticipated this response and nodded calmly. "Okay, but I hope that if Miss Mason ever does consider it, she will think of us first."

"Okay, Mr. Wells, that's definitely possible," Angela agreed without hesitation. After all, it was simply giving them priority consideration. "Then I'll go now."

After concluding their private conversation, George also breathed a sigh of relief. At least he got her verbal agreement, even though it had no real binding effect. But he believed that Disney had formed a favorable impression of her. Who knew what the future held? Just like how he initially didn't believe the little girl would star in "The Parent Trap" if they maintained a positive impression of her, Disney would be the first option for her if she ever decided to release an album.

Well, he was getting ahead of himself again. He needed to make a phone call to Mr. Eisner. George let out a bitter smile as he took out his bulky phone from his bag.

...

"Good, very good!" Charles applauded, standing up from his seat. He was very satisfied with this final scene.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, especially Angela, as the question about "Circle of Life" had momentarily distracted her. This afternoon felt reminiscent of the constant retakes in the forest park shoot, which had caused the director's face to appear unpleasant throughout. Fortunately, the little girl understood what was important and narrowed down her attention on the shooting, resulting in the perfect execution of the final few scenes.

"Everyone, I'm pleased to announce that we've finished shooting in Napa Valley. Take a break and then quickly pack up. We need to hurry back to San Francisco and catch Flight 1272 to London," Nancy said, clapping her hands. Her suggestion immediately sparked a commotion among the crew.

"What the hell, why can't we have two days off before we leave?"

"Yeah, tomorrow is the weekend, and I promised my son we'd go camping."

"Nancy, you're relentless! Are you trying to drain us completely?" shouted the cinematographer, Finnick, the loudest.

"Alright, gentlemen, we just had a break the day before yesterday," Nancy calmly folded her arms and asked, "Is there anyone who doesn't want to spend the weekend in London?"

The set immediately quieted down, and everyone quickly started packing up. Some were even planning what gifts to buy for their families. The way they handled it impressed the little girl. When she turned her head, she saw Jessica busy picking up small trinkets and putting them in her pink bag.

"Jessica, do you really have that much stuff to pack?" Angela sighed and said. She really wanted to talk to someone right now, but Sweetheart Sister was engrossed in an intimate conversation with her dear husband. Mr. Quaid didn't have any scenes in London. They would part ways, and since it was so rushed, they had to savor the moment.

Mr. Sparrow stood at a distance, clutching an object the size of a brick, engaged in a conversation with someone, completely absorbed in their discussion. Aunt Jennifer was busy packing up her things. So, she could only turn to Jessica, who seemed to have nothing much to do.

"Oh, my princess, I'm packing your luggage for you. If you have anything to say, tell me after you board the plane!" Jessica pretended to be impatient, like an overbearing maid controlling every aspect of a princess's life.

Only when Angela pouted adorably and glared at her resentfully did Jessica burst into laughter, she zipped up the bag in her hand and sat down beside her. "Alright, Angela, this is my first time going abroad too."

"So, you're this excited just because of that?" Angela seemed dissatisfied.

"But I'm also going to London for the first time," Jessica shrugged.

"London isn't as beautiful as you imagine, dear Jessica," Angela chuckled, patting her shoulder. "Yes, the Tower Bridge, Westminster Palace, Big Ben, Tower of London, and so on. They are all beautiful sights and must-visit places for tourists. But the problem is, the weather there is very unfriendly. Although the temperature doesn't vary much throughout the year, it's definitely lower than in Los Angeles. You should be grateful that it's already June. If it were May, it's possible to go a whole week without seeing the sun, and most importantly, it can rain anytime."

"That's okay, I'll bring an umbrella," Jessica shrugged again.

"Oh my, oh my, Jessica, don't you understand?" Angela covered her forehead and sighed dramatically.

"You're not going on vacation; you're going to make a movie! You need to enchant the whole of London and make them dance along with your fingertips!"

The little girl let out a sigh and was about to rise from her seat when she sensed that something was off. She glanced at Jessica, who had her arm resting on her thigh and was supporting her chin while calmly observing her.

"Done venting?" Jessica raised an eyebrow and asked.

Angela blinked her eyes. "How did you know?"

"Oh, come on, Angela. When you vent, you're always incoherent. It doesn't matter if I can tell or not," Jessica shrugged.

"Then that can only mean my acting isn't convincing enough. Otherwise, even if I'm incoherent, you wouldn't notice," the little girl stretched lazily to disguise her headache. She hadn't thought of an excuse for "Circle of Life"

At that moment, Mr. Sparrow approached, handing her a brick-sized object. "Miss Mason, a call from Mrs. Mason."

Mom? Angela pursed her lips. She could easily guess why her mom would call at this time. Reluctantly, she took the brick-sized object. "Hi, Mommy."

"Are you okay, dear? It's been three weeks since I last saw you. I hope you're not upset with me for not visiting the set?" Elena's gentle and concerned voice came through the phone.

The little girl instinctively rubbed her little nose and apologized, "Of course not, Mommy. I'm sorry I didn't come home on the weekends."

Elena's light laughter came through, "I understand. Mr. Sparrow told me that you wanted to focus on your acting. My Chrissy always likes to persevere in her goals."

Angela secretly stuck out her tongue. Although she felt remorseful, she still had to ask, "Mommy, can I skip going?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, then her mother's gentle voice returned, "Chris, that's impolite."

"Oh, come on, Mommy. I'm going to London for work, not for vacation or sightseeing. I'll be back soon," even though she couldn't see her, the little girl still made a pouting face and said, "If you insist, Mommy, I can go, but I won't spend New Year's in London this year."

"You little negotiator," Elena laughed, "Alright, you can skip going to your grandfather's place, but you must come up with a suitable excuse. Unless your movie isn't released in the UK, then I won't advocate for you."

"No problem, Mommy, it's settled. Goodbye, I love you!" Hanging up the phone, Angela couldn't help but whistle.

Dealing with Grandpa was so simple. It was just a shame she still had to go for New Year's, but hopefully, it wouldn't be like the summer two years ago. It wasn't that the little girl didn't like her grandfather; she liked him a lot, and he liked her too. Only when she was there would he accompany her around his estate, big and small. But on certain matters, the old man was... well, very traditional.

It seemed as if a part of his soul still lingered in the Victorian era, the little girl couldn't help but silently criticize whenever such thoughts crossed her mind. However, regardless of whether she visited Grandpa's house or not, there were still other people's homes she had to pay a visit to.

After all, it had been two whole months since a certain someone had last written her a letter!
