– Adventurer Life Day 67 (Thu) – Morning – Olbia City – Plain Fields by the Palmyra Road

Hunting is fast and comfortable here.

Currently, all 8 members from Phillips’ team are hunting solo.

Including with 2 of the skeletons + Talos groups, 3 of the spear skeletons + club skeletons groups, and the final group consisting of Benedetta + spear skeletons + club skeletons.

The amount of groups we have now is double from our first day of hunting here, so the amount we’ll need to dismantle will certainly be large.

For that, I had the entire group of Centurion assigned to dismantle.

There’s also another reason why the burden on dismantling will be large.

As each member from Phillip’s team will be hunting solo, they won’t be able to carry the entire carcass back to us effectively.

We will have to head there ourselves.

Apart from that particular group, everyone else will have to take their game back to me, so that means I won’t be moving from this spot.

Before, I was moving around to dismantle the monsters from their locations, but honestly, it’s pretty hard to keep track of the areas we will have to travel to, and we even missed some, so I had to stop that.

With me, I have a portion of Talos, and 11 of the regular skeletons.

Right now, with the result of continuous usage, I am able to directly control up to 7 skeletons well enough, so the dismantling work has been considerably lessened for me.

From time to time, I check on the skeletons I had stationed like yesterday to have a look at the surroundings.

Visual sharing is quite stable from the two I had stationed, but it seems like having one more is completely out of my capabilities.

Seems like I still need more training… this visual sharing thing is quite difficult.

– Adventurer Life Day 67 (Thu) – Afternoon – Olbia City – Plain Fields by the Palmyra Road

… Now then… what is this.

It’s been about 2 and a half hours since we’ve started hunting…

After already being familiar with the area and the monsters, the efficiency from dismantling, having no other thing to experiment with, and most of all, the number of usable soldiers have increased, our hunting speed have increased dramatically.

The number of Demon Horn items we have on the cart totals to about 70.

It was too much for even an earthen horse to handle, so we had to push it along with two golems to cross the rough terrain.

(… Really now, the amount of mana I’m using up here is too much.)

This is the first time I had 65 skeletons, 3 golems, and 2 horses out all at once.

Even though I was prepared for this, and had made plans to finish hunting earlier than usual, I was still feeling anxious noticing my mana had depleted to less than 30% already.

For now, I’ll just take out all skeletons other than Phillips and Centurion.

With this, my mana is starting to recover, even with two golems still out.

Fortunately enough, there were some materials we found around the area for the mana potion, so I took enough to make three.

Having these on hand, had me a little relieved at least.

– Adventurer Life Day 67 (Thu) – Afternoon – Olbia City – Adventurer’s Guild – Exchange Center

As we always had, it was the exchange center of the guild that was the first place we went to right after hunting.

That said, today’s the day where the price of that Elite harpy would come, so I’m getting a little excited.

“Now then… this will be the amount.”

“Ohh!?”

I was quite surprised to see how the Elite harpy wings had more value than the combined total of 70 Demon Horn materials.

From the wings alone, it amounted to 55,000 Goldas, making it a total of 70,000 for today.

Subtracting the 15% to Benedetta’s share, that makes the total money I have on hand, over 350,000.

I didn’t really expect those harpy wings would be so much.

Resting by the lobby with drinks, I had a talk with everyone.

When using the visual sharing between skeletons, my head would normally feel extremely exhausted from it.

However, after that, I would feel like my head capacity to be increasing, giving me a sort of a good feeling.

However, it gets back to being exhausted again since I was using it constantly…

While thinking about that, Benedetta raised up a problem.

“Speaking of which Nemo… What are you going to do about that exploding potion you mentioned before?”

“Oh yeah! We’ve been busy ever since we arrived here so I almost forgot.”

Explosion potion creation… this is a skill acquired from Alchemist by level 9 and has been a skill used in the game.

When throwing this potion at enemies, it would explode and deal considerable damage to them. It is one of Alchemists most damaging attacks… in the game at least.

“My lord… could you wait for a moment. What is this explosion you talk of? I can tell it’s created through a compound solution but…”

“Ah. Right, I never explained it to you… hmm… how do I say it… oh yeah! Remember that time with the escort mission, and the large magical fire Cesar used? That’s an explosion!”

“I see… So by using that solution, you can create something similar to that magic?”

“Probably, I think. Though, the power would be considerably smaller for me. That one was from a Divine Protection that mainly specializes in it, but it’s not really the same for mine.”

“Mhm. Is that how it works.”

Seemingly understanding, I continued.

“So, the problem with making the potion are the ingredients. There’s two that’s needed, but I only know one of them.”

“Toukabou huh.”

With the game’s graphics, the Toukabou plant looked just like the Japanese silver grass.

However, with the common sense of the people from this world, they would never think there would be any use to this plant.

Or at the very least, I never heard of it back in the village, never used it when I was part of the guards, and there was never a request of it by the guild board.

Before coming to Olbia, neither Benedetta and Centurion ever heard of it either.

“Guess there’s no choice but to check with the Adventurer’s Guild…”

“I’m not sure what it even looks like.”

“Yeah, that’s right… I tried looking for it myself, but it’s hard to differentiate.”

This was the reason why I couldn’t try it out back in Comnes.

“First of all, let’s ask around what it could be normally used for.”

“Ah, you thought the same too.”

For that reason, I’ll be sending out a request just for that ingredient.

Since it attracts attention in the guild, I don’t really want to ask for too much.

I don’t think this sort of plant would be used for anything medicinal, so of course it would rouse some suspicions.

“This is ACTUALLY the first time I’ve HEARD of a PLANT like that. I’m SORRY I couldn’t be HELPFUL on this.”

… Well, it seems like no one here actually knows what kind of plant it is

After thinking about it a little more, I decided on just sending the request.

“… A Toukabou is it? Please wait a moment.”

That was the response given to us by the reception desk.

The first staff member we talked to didn’t seem to understand, and instead asks for someone else to help with it.

And so, a man in his 40s that seemed like he knows about quite a lot of things, came to us.

“Ah, it’s you… What’s the matter?”

Oh? It was the same man who we had a talk with regarding the Elite harpy. I think it was… Grat?

At the time, I had thought his knowledge is only limited to monsters.

Is he just generally knowledgeable on a lot of things?

“Actually, I wanted to make a request with the Toukabou.”

“Eh!? Toukabou?… You wanted to use that plant you say?”

Uwa… That wasn’t a really good response.

I’m not really sure how to respond to that, so I’m just going to say something I had prepared.

“Trade secret…”

“Hmm… It’s not particularly restricted by law, but be careful. It is very flammable when dry. For farmers, it’s mixed in with their firewood.”

(I never heard of that before.)

I was also a farmer, but even I had never seen it used.

Maybe it’s a regional thing.

“I see. If that’s the case, it’s fine to use it when it’s moist then?”

“That would be fine. But, isn’t it growing all over the place? Is there a reason to make a request for it?”

Ah crap… I didn’t think the material would be that common, so I didn’t think I’d be asked that…

I have to make it seem less suspicious…

“It’s a pain to collect…”

“Hm…”

Well, I wasn’t lying there.

It does take a lot of time to look for the herb and to gather it all up. Thinking on it more calmly, that was probably the only viable response I could make.

I can’t really tell whether if Grat was convinced by that or not.

However, there’s no use thinking about it, so let’s move on from the conversation here.

“So… how much will it cost to make a request?”

“Well, the amount might be too low for anyone to take…”

“Then how about 200 Goldas?”

“Just for this? That’s a little too much… Perhaps 120 might do.”

“I’ll just leave it to you then.”

By the end of the conversation, I finally managed to make a request.

Once we can get an idea what the herb actually looks like, we could just look around for it ourselves.

And also, using 120 Goldas for it, isn’t so much of a big deal.

By the way, from what was discussed, the request would be posted up starting tomorrow morning.

The client (me) would receive the goods two days after the request completion.

For requests like this, where the freshness of the medicinal plant is important, a standard deadline is set.

On a side note, about 60% of the requests from Comnes consisted of requests like this.

An armful of herbs from there only gives about 70 Goldos.

Seeing mine in that sort of perspective somehow makes me think I might be over paying it still.

– Adventurer Life Day 67 (Thu) – Afternoon – Olbia City – Adventurer Guild – Warehouse

Now then, with that out of the way, me and Centurion proceeded to enter into our warehouse.

On one corner of the room were four tubs containing slimes and hay.

It’s been a while since I’ve last check up on it, so I opened up the lid to have a look inside.

For the sake of experimenting, all four of these are slightly different in some way.

Will this really work though…?

“FIRST, there was NOTHING added to this TUB.”

“… This slime… It seems to be quite small, like it shrank.”

It was originally about 20cm in diameter, and had a height of like 10cm, having the appearance of a flattened dough.

However, it seems to be much smaller now.

“As EXPECTED, it doesn’t SEEM like it could live INSIDE the city for very LONG.”

“Looks like it.”

Slime’s are affected by the mana afterall.

However, we were going to test to see if that could be supplemented somehow.

“This ONE here was only GIVEN a small amount of MANA potion once a DAY.”

“Oh?”

Like we both have figured, the slime was slightly larger as opposed to the one that had no potion fed to it.

“This is amazing! With this, we can cultivate as many slimes as needed!”

“I was actually SURPRISED to find how SIMPLE it was. Sir MARIO had to go through a LOT of EFFORT to keep on SEARCHING for slimes in the MARSHLANDS. Something like THIS is only THANKS to MASTER after all.

(Ah, is that so.)

Mario sought and worked hard on a product that may or may not be able to work out and was completely unknown to anyone.

Compared to that person’s efforts, I can’t really say I did a lot here.

“If you are already SURPRISED seeing THIS, then take a LOOK at the ONE where the HEALTH potion has been ADDED in.”

“Wha – !”

It is somewhat of a turn of a completely different approach from using just the amount of mana to supplement, but doing random things like this also have its benefits.

“The GROWTH on this HAPPENED in the SPAN of one NIGHT. Even I was SURPRISED when I SAW it.”

“You don’t say…”

There are many slimes about 30cm in diameter.

Comnes’ wetlands is a habitual breeding ground, so it was easy to find slimes there… However, even the largest slimes there measure still less than 30cm.

To be able to grow inside the city and still surpass the largest size from its natural habitat… It is clearly unusual.

There were even no aquatic plants and hay left in the tub.

It seems like these gigantic slimes had already finished it.

We’ll have to gather more to replenish it during today’s hunt.

“There is STILL one MORE to go, and I’ve SAVED the best ONE for last.”

“It’s huge! Or rather, isn’t there a lot there?”

The last one here was made using both the mana and life potion, but it still remained the same size as the one before.

However, since all these tubs had the same amount of slimes inside to begin with, I can only assume they have multiplied.

“With THIS, we can CONTINUE to make your POTION throwing CONTAINERS without CONSTRAINT.”

“… …”

The prospect of it is too great, I couldn’t even say anything to it.

For the time being, I helped out Centurion in adding more hay to the tub.

“Really now, this is amazing. Thank you Centurion.”

“PRAISE me MORE.”

After this, should I ask about that?

I don’t think there’s anything left to do right now.

“By the way, that black slime… nothing particularly special happened with it right?”

“For RATE of GROWTH, it is just LIKE any other SLIME.”

That black slime he brought over did look something special… but there really seems to be no differences whatsoever.

Putting that aside however and taking a look at the tub full of wriggling slimes… wouldn’t a larger tub be better?

From then on, I had been talking with Centurion about making the slime cloth.

Things like how we’ll need something to replace the black slug toxins and stuff. At that time, Benedetta entered into the warehouse with Phillips.

“A new notice came from the guild… I’ll tell you the details once you’ve finished there.”

“Seems like things are going well for you.”

I turned to answer Benedetta.

“Alright… I was planning on giving Dandro a visit, to see how his back has been doing, but do you mind to come with me? If there’s time, we can look for some clothes by the local marketplace.”

“Understood… I was also curious how Dandro is doing.”

“The old blacksmith you say!? I too will come.”

“Me TOO.”

“So everyone’s going then huh.”

And with that, I’ve managed to secure my supply of slime-made potion containers.
