She laughed out of the blue at the sudden remark. Jean looked up at her with sentimental eyes.
“When you first came here, you were only this big.”
Nina’s face turned sour when Jean opened his thumb and index finger.
“No, I don’t think I’ve ever been that small since I was
born.”
“No, it was this big. You’re all grown up now.” Nina looked down at him with her arms folded and laughed.
“Yes, I’m already all grown up. I’m the commander now.”
Nina and he are seven years apart. When she first saw him, he was already an adult, and now, she’s already of age too.
“I thought I won’t be able to see you grow up.”

When the two people wearing long coats appeared, attention was focused on them at once.
“Right, isn’t the all-black uniform cool? I think so too.’
Even though the former Duke of Luverne didn’t know anything else, the uniforms were awesome.
Because coats are only given to the elite, the only ones currently wearing coats are Nina and Jean. The members of the Dark Knights who had already been out in stand-by gave a salute.
“Welcome to all of you here. I am Nina La Dell, the Commander of the Dark Knights.”

“The test is very simple. You just have to slash your weapon down from top to bottom once in front of me. I’ll decide to pass you or not from that.”

“We’re being tested by a corruption-ridden little girl like you? That’s funny. Get the right person in charge!”

Without a signal, he swung the huge sword. The man quickly struck the sword from top to bottom. Even Jean was caught off guard, but Nina avoided the sword by taking a big step back.
The sword hit the floor with a loud noise.

As he lifted the sword again, Nina stepped on the blade,

A sharp metal sound rang. Everyone could see that there was an iron plate underneath her boots. The man tried to lift the sword, but it wouldn’t budge.
“This!”
The man whose face turned red tried to pull back instead of lifting the sword. The next moment, the sword fell out as it became lighter, then he grabbed the handle of his sword and tried to fight again.
Nina’s clenching fist and her waist came into view.
“Ha!”
Nina slapped him in the face with a cute shout.
With the sound of cracking bones, the large man’s body soared away as if he was blasted like a canyon and struck on the barricade of the training ground.
Everyone looked at the man shaking with his mouth wide open.
‘Did he just fly?’
”I think he just hit the floor and then bounced up?”
Probably, he would have to live with liquid food for his entire life. The gazes toward the man immediately turned to Nina.
Nina smiled, lifted with one hand the sword he had dropped and began to spin it.
“I can handle greatswords, but it’s difficult to carry around.”
Twirling, the big sword turned as light as a wooden sword in her hand. There was an ugly sound that cut across the wind, and her long coat fluttered lightly

Nina laughed as she put the sword on the floor.
“So who else is dissatisfied?”
It was quiet everywhere. Nina tilted her head and said,
“However, I think I’d just change the test. I don’t think it’s enough with just a single strike. I think it would be much better to prove yourselves by sparring.”
“What do you mean… sparring?”
Jean tried to speak briefly as if asking what she was talking about, but she quickly added.
“Yes. So, let’s proceed.”
Nina clenched her fist and grinned before he could say anything again, she explained.
