“Deal.” Lian Jing did not care what they were talking about. After hanging up, he suddenly grabbed Lian Meng’s arm. She had been looking around and now he brought her to a corner. “Don’t make a sound.”
Everyone held their breaths and hid behind the wall, staring at the back door.
A series of footsteps suddenly sounded at the door. The man in the lead stubbed out the cigarette in his hand and said angrily, “These police officers are really difficult to deal with. We lost so many brothers and so many goods this time. The business that I worked so hard to build is gone!”
The man in black beside him smiled apologetically and said, “Brother, don’t be angry. I’ve already asked a few brothers to scout ahead. If it’s safe, we’ll move the stock tonight.”
Lian Jing was skilled in martial arts and could deal with these two people. However, he did not know how many people were in their advance party. For the sake of Shen Yin’s safety, he must not act rashly.
He suppressed his anger and glared at Wu Zheng. “Who do you think they are? When did those people enter?”
Wu Zheng and Zou Sheng exchanged glances and said seriously, “We remained here because we were waiting for these drug lords. However, we searched everywhere, but we couldn’t find where Dr. Shen was hidden. We would certainly have noticed anyone trying to sneak in under our noses!”
Meng Heng was also anxious. He clenched his fists tightly. “What is going on? Is there something wrong with the tracking device? Why can’t we find her?”
When the two men had gone some distance away, Lian Jing frowned. “It’s not convenient for so many people to follow them. Wu Zheng and I will go. The rest of you will stay here as backup. Your cyber police will be in charge of tracking our location. Don’t lose the signal this time.”
“No problem.” Zou Sheng nodded seriously. He did not realize that there was anything wrong with Lian Jing ordering Wu Zheng about.
Wu Zheng frowned. But there was no time to quibble at this crucial moment. He nodded and moved with Lian Jing.
The two drug lords walked towards the signal and their phones suddenly rang. The man in the lead picked up the phone and listened for a while. He cursed in shock, “How could you let someone in? You’re so incompetent! How many people? Did you find the goods?”
Wu Zheng and the others were far away and could not hear what was said. They only saw the person hurriedly hang up the phone and look around warily. Then, he gave the person beside him a look.
The man quickly opened the stone slab, revealing a dark and hidden secret passage.
Just as the two of them were about to enter the secret passage, a cold gun suddenly pointed at the back of one of their heads.
When the other person heard the sound, he narrowed his eyes and suddenly drew his gun to counterattack.
Lian Jing seized the opportunity and kicked his lower back. He picked up the gun that had fallen from his waistband. “Thank you for leading the way.”
Wu Zheng handcuffed the two of them to prevent them from escaping. Then, he took out his cell phone and called Zou Sheng. He briefly explained what had happened. When he turned around, he realized that Lian Jing had already disappeared.
He sighed and told Zou Sheng and the others to come over quickly. Then, he followed closely behind and entered the secret passage. His palm that was holding the pistol was sweating.
Lian Jing did not like how bothersome the police were. They were on a mission and needed to arrest all the relevant criminals, but he did not have to worry about that. As long as he saved Shen Yin, he did not care about the lives of the others.
Lian Jing tucked the pistol into his waistband and walked into the dirty tunnel with disgust. Thinking about those scum had brought Shen Yin to such a place a few hours ago, he wished he could kill them on the spot.
