258 The Real and The Fake Miss Shen
Shen Yin quickly tidied herself up. By the time she was ready, the chauffeur was already waiting for her outside the door.
The butler followed behind her with a smile, his eyes filled with relief and sympathy.
Shen Yin found it funny. She opened the car door but did not get in. She asked playfully, “What’s wrong, Uncle Chen? If you have something to say, just say it.”
Chen Fa’s wrinkled face was kindly. He had watched Lian Jing grow up and now that Lian Jing was finally about to start a family, he was naturally delighted. As a result, he was always polite to Shen Yin. “Miss Shen, you may not know this, but President Lian has always been to be scrupulous in separating his work and private life. This is the first time a member of his family has gone to the office to see him outside of work. Even Miss Lian’e and Master Fu Xiao don’t receive such treatment.”
Shen Yin’s beautiful eyes narrowed slightly as she teased with a smile, “Wow, it’s really hard to see him.”
Lian Jing was a workaholic like her. Basically, when she was working overtime, Lian Jing would deal with his paperwork. However, whenever he got off work earlier than her, he would come to the police station to pick her up.
Shen Yin could not bear to see the grievance on his face every time he had to park his car so far away, so she slowly allowed him to pick her up from the entrance of the police station. Now, everyone in the police station knew about her relationship with Lian Jing.
Butler Chen nodded in relief and said, “I can tell that President Lian is sincere towards you. Like Old Master Lian, I hope that you will soon have a happy ending.”
Shen Yin pursed her lips and smiled slightly. Thinking of what Lian Jing said last night, a warm feeling slowly flashed across her heart. “I hope so too. I’ll leave first, Uncle Chen.”
After getting into the car, Shen Yin thought about it and took out her phone to send a message to Lian Jing, telling him that she had already set off.
He replied almost instantly, “I’m waiting for you.”
It was just a short reply, but it filled Shen Yin’s heart with warmth. She hugged her cell phone and giggled all the way there.
When the screen turned dark, she saw that her blissful smile reflected on the screen. She could not help but think to herself that she looked no different from when she had first fallen in love many years ago. But now, the person that filled her heart was Lian Jing.
She knew that she had given away her heart again. But since she had given it to Lian Jing, she would not lose it this time…
She was daydreaming when they arrived at Lian Corporation. The chauffeur got out of the car and opened the door for her with a respectful smile. “Miss Shen, we’re here. President Lian instructed me to drive the car back first.”
“Okay.” Shen Yin nodded lightly.
She could just go home with Lian Jing that evening. There was no need to use another car.
When she reached the front desk of the office, Shen Yin realized that the Lian Corporation was indeed the number one company in the country. The office’s decor was graceful and elegant. Even the two young ladies in charge of reception at the front desk were outstanding in appearance and ability.
The young lady looked at Shen Yin with a smile and asked politely, “Hello, welcome to the Lian Corporation. Do you have an appointment?”
Shen Yin was stunned for a moment. Thinking that she was personally invited by Lian Jing, she suddenly could not hold back her smile and nodded. “Yes, I’m looking for President Lian.”
The little girl blinked and looked at her colleagues in confusion. Then, she looked at Shen Yin in confusion and asked, “Are you Miss Shen?”
Shen Yin nodded in surprise. “Yes, can I go up now?”
“Wait a minute.” The young lady seemed to be a little flustered. Her hand that was holding the front desk phone was still trembling slightly. After making two consecutive calls, the person on the other end finally picked up. She immediately heaved a sigh of relief and asked nervously, “Brother Zhong, um, another Miss Shen is here now. Did I let the wrong person go upstairs?”
The man on the other end of the line was silent for a moment. Seeing that the elevator was about to reach the top floor, he took a deep breath and asked, “Which Miss Shen do you think is prettier?”
The young lady at the front desk was stunned. She could not help but look up and glance at Shen Yin. She gulped and said in a low voice, “The one downstairs is prettier.”
“Then you’ve let the wrong person come upstairs,” Zhong Xin replied firmly. Then, he quickly thought of a countermeasure. “Don’t tell the Miss Shen downstairs that you’ve mistaken someone else forher. Tell her to wait downstairs for a while. I’ll come down and pick her up personally.”
“Okay.” The young lady hung up the phone. She was glad that she had been careful not to let current Miss Shen hear what she had just said.
She calmed herself down before putting on a polite smile. “Miss Shen, I’ve already informed Secretary Zhong. He said that he’ll come down personally to pick you up.”
“Okay.” Shen Yin nodded and pointed at the empty sofa beside her. “Then I’ll sit here for a while, okay?”
“Of course.” The girl was on the brink of tears. She must be blind. Look at this Miss Shen. She was so polite and beautiful, a paragon of beauty and kindness. How could that unruly Shen Luo compare to her?
She had been really stupid just now. When she heard Zhong Xin say that Miss Shen would come later, she had subconsciously assumed that it was Shen Luo.
