At that moment, Shen Yin was taking a shower in the bathroom, but Cheng Huo was sitting on the sofa in the room, flipping through the newspaper. When he heard her phone that was lying on the coffee table ring, he looked at the caller ID and stole a glance in the direction of the bathroom. He reached out to pick up the call.
Shen Nian sighed with relief the moment the call went through. “Mom, are you alright? Where are you now? Whose house are you at?”
“Mm.” Cheng Huo suddenly agreed nervously on behalf of Shen Yin. When he heard the other party suddenly fall silent, he explained in amusement, “Nian Nian, I’m Uncle Cheng. Don’t you remember me?”

The young lady on the other end of the phone had gone to sleep long ago. When she was suddenly woken up, her childish voice sounded rather nasal. “Hello? Who are you? How dare you call and wake me up when I’m sleeping? You must be tired of living.”
Shen Nian fell silent for the third time that night. Cheng Mu thought that her reproaches had rendered the other party was speechless. Cheng Mu’s heart skipped a beat. She gulped in fear and put on a pitiful, weak voice. “Brother, I had a nightmare just now. I’m so scared. Can you let me in?”
Cheng Huo frowned, but when he heard the water continue to run in the bathroom, he opened the door and let his sister in.
As soon as Cheng Mu entered, her round eyes darted to the bathroom door. “Brother, why is there someone else here?”
Cheng Huo turned around coldly and sat on the sofa. He poured her a cup of hot tea to sooth her nerves. “Your Sister Shen came to our house to play.”
