“What are you talking about? Are you going to Marquis Evgeny? In the countryside?”

Irene and Ridan entered as soon as the Marchioness left.

Irene looked disappointed, having forgotten her original intention of celebrating the meeting’s outcome after learning about it.

“Is it because there’s no place to stay in the capital? Then why don’t you come to the Duke’s residence?”

“No, that’s not the reason. I always told you. I want to go to the countryside.”

I knew Irene had high hopes for me, but she was visibly disappointed.

“There are so many things I want to do with you when you’re free—but there aren’t many things we’ve done as friends.” I smiled as I held Irene’s hand.

“Do you really have to go to the Marquis right now?”

“I’ve got eyes everywhere, and I’m now a member of the family. I believe we should get closer.”

Ridan, on the other hand, stepped in abruptly.

“Is it because you need the protection of a family rather than a friend?”

I looked at Ridan, who had now become Duke, blankly.

“Then, uhm, Duke Roziad— Uh, so that’s, a family—”

‘What are you saying?’

Irene grabbed Ridan’s side tightly before I could even respond. Ridan shut up in an instant, and Irene took my hand in hers.

“The Marquis Evgeny is located very far from the capital. Much more than the locations you’ve seen on the map.”

“I hate crowded places like the capital, which is great.”

“But we’re in the capital. And the Prince will be back soon.”

“Ah… Prince Ixion?”

I shrugged, remembering a name that had nothing to do with me.

“Most likely. I understand that he is of marriageable age now, but it would be nice if he met a Young Lady and a good noble and lived happily ever after.” I drank tea and answered without much thought.

Irene sighed and gave me a complicated look.

“It’s nice to think of you as the Marquis Young Lady, but it’s a shame you’re so far away.”

“I believe it went well. It’s awful to be stuck in the capital and see this and that.”

I didn’t want to get involved with the Imperial court’s servants who were bullying me, or with the other nobles who openly laughed at me at the banquet.

Irene sighed once more.

“Do you think it’ll be hard to forget…?”

I nodded slowly, remembering how the maids ignored me and how banquets were rumbling with abuse at me.

“I won’t be able to forget it if I stay in the capital. I’m going to go all the way down to the south and forget about everything.”

Irene sighed and shook her head.

Life at the palace was made easier by Irene— I patted her on the back of the hand, feeling a little sorry for her.

“The capital is a little better because of you. I’ll pay you a visit from time to time.”

“Promise. You’ll come often. If you come, let’s go shopping with me and eat something delicious. I wanted to get a lot of business advice from you—but I’m still very disappointed.”

I decided to leave the capital quickly because I was burdened by the fact that they thought I was too much of a ‘wise future predictor.’

Because I have no idea what is going to happen.

“Okay.”

But they were my first friends here. It’s hard to come often because it’s far away, but sometimes I thought I’d come to the capital to meet Irene and Ridan.

*****

“Are you crazy?”

Irene slapped Ridan on the shoulder as soon as she came out of Elsia’s room.

“Let’s be a family? Aren’t you asking her to marry you? What do you mean by that all of a sudden?”

“Never mind. It’s a slip of the tongue.”

“By any chance, do you like Elsia?”

“I don’t know. But impulsively—.”

“Was you a kid who knows how to speak impulsively?”

“……”

“Keep it on your mind. Elsia like Prince Ixion, you know.”

“I understand that. I was there at the banquet, too.”

Ridan sighed and answered calmly.

“….Poor Elsia.” Irene muttered, biting her lower lip.

“You know everything. Now the Prince has reached the time when he is forced to marry another woman. This Artise punishment is a great contribution to let go of. That’s why she’s going down to the South to forget.”

She wanted to help her benefactor and friend’s love, but no matter how hard she thought about it, she couldn’t think of a realistic way.

The presence of Ixion, who made a significant contribution, will no longer allow him to remain in the position of 3rd prince without a rear ship, and in fact, behind-the-scenes work among the great nobles was already intensifying.

Ixion, from what she had seen so far, was not the type to discuss love and courtship with the woman he blossomed with.

He appeared to be uninterested in women, and of course, as a political move, he would choose the family to be his wing among the liberal aristocrats.

“It’s more painful to watch her pretend to be calm as usual.”

Ridan spoke in a low tone, touched his forehead.

“Because I know how big her heart was for him…”

“I understand.”

Irene gave a conflicted response.

“I’d rather be relieved if she showed me how much she’s in pain. It’s sad to give up as if it were natural from the beginning. She’s far too smart to be good at predicting the future.”

******

Ixion was reading a letter from Mela, who had arrived in the capital.

‘The noble is— Then I’ll give it my all here.’

Despite being a Prince, he lacked an aristocrat who could actively seek help.

He expected it to be difficult because there was no reason for Elsia to actively participate in the aristocratic family, and there was no reason to allow her to.

It was surprising to learn from Mela that Elsia knew both Dukes, but it was even more surprising that the results came out so quickly.

“All right, that’s good for you.”

He recalled her deftly, twinkling her eyes.

He had to admit that he didn’t know about her at all.

“…As a result, we’ll be able to learn more from each other from now on.”

Mela was even in the process of adopting her, according to the letter.

Everything is going as planned. No, things are going much better than expected.

In fact, he had no idea Marquis Evgeny would be so helpful.

He intended to proceed with the marriage regardless of her status, but there was no reason to refuse to stop the noise.

“May I enter?”

When Aiden’s voice came from outside, Ixion slid Mela’s letter into the drawer.

“With Niel Evgeny gone, it seemed ten times as calm as usual— but there have been reports that more wizards will likely be required for magical power investigation at the palace.”

Aiden entered his barracks with the expression of someone who was tired of thinking.

This is because Niel has been flirting with women – and because the flirting is working at 100 percent – the atmosphere of the women’s knight has been unsettled.

“Did Niel go back to Marquis Evgeny?”

“Of course, he’d go back and flirt with all the Southern aristocrats.”

Aiden responded with a twitch of the tongue.

“There are probably not many men who make such effective use of their appearance. I’m curious if the Marchioness didn’t want to take him everywhere with her.”

“Hmm.”

“I’m not sure, but the Marquis will be noisy until Niel returns to the Tower. If you’re thinking of the Marchioness, you should call Niel Evgeny, who was discharged early, but—”

“You don’t need to be concerned about what happens in the Marquis.”

Ixion appeared uninterested in the following conversation.

Elsia will be staying at the Marquis’ mansion in the capital anyway, so she will have no interaction with him.

“It’s none of our business now, regardless of what kind of woman Niel Evgeny gets entangled with. Request another wizard.”

So Ixion gave orders that he would soon come to regret.

******

It took me less than three days to be free and become the adopted daughter of Marquis Evgeny.

Ridan came to see me late in the evening on the last day before leaving the palace.

“Forget everything, and I’ll see you after you’ve made your decision.”

“Ah, yes, of course.”

“When you’re finished, please keep in mind that I have something to tell you.”

Ridan said something strange, kissed the back of my hand, and then walked away.

Sera was an Imperial Palace maid, but she came out of the palace in a barrel, crying and hanging, to follow me.

“Oh, this ruby matches the color of Elsia’s eyes perfectly. Do you not have a set?”

As soon as she left the palace, the Marchioness took me to all of the capital’s famous shops and began shopping.

She initially stated that she could never speak to me informally, but when I insisted that no mother in the world treated her daughter with honor, the Marchioness began to speak awkwardly.

Then, while shopping, I spoke entirely naturally.

“T-there’s a lot…”

“This hairpin is also lovely. Elsia, the more I look at you, the clearer your features become.”

The Marchioness’s words were not exaggerated.

I had to buy clothes in a different size than the one I was wearing. It was difficult at first, but I quickly became adapted to aristocratic shopping.

I decided not to refuse because I believed it was a family that would have been ruined if I had not come along, and I had an inheritance.

My parents died when I was young in Korea, so I lived at my aunt’s house.

As soon as I became an adult, I became independent, so it was the first time someone bought me this and that.

‘I can’t afford to pass up this opportunity. I don’t have any experience, but I’ve seen a lot of dramas.’

I was able to express myself confidently in the dressing room, recalling the Korean drama I had watched.

“I like wearing blue clothes. I enjoy looking up at the sky.”

I ordered some of the clothes I needed right away, as well as the rest of the sweatshirts I had cut on the spur of the moment, and had them delivered to the Marquis.

“It’s not like Marquis doesn’t have a good tailor.”

The Marchioness said, unable to calm her sparkling eyes with excitement.

“Let’s get the rest from Evgeny.”

“More here?”

“Of course, I couldn’t buy much because of the departure time.”

‘Well, luxury is a daily routine for nobles.’

I smiled and nodded.

Sera, who followed me, seemed excited to receive a few gifts.
