I stepped out into the hallway, looked at the maids sneaking out the door, and said cautiously through the open door.

“Please excuse me. My name is Elsia, and I recently came in as an adopted daughter—did you hear that?”

“What?”

“Could I please come in for a moment?”

They claimed he was nineteen years old. I was twenty-two years old here. I couldn’t bear the thought of using honorifics and I slowly opened the door, thinking that silence was a good thing.

“I came to see what was going on because it was so loud—” I spoke as sweetly as I could, but I had to stop myself when I saw the boy with the blue hair hanging down.

‘What is it about that look that provokes that protective instinct?’

His skin appeared to be whiter than mine. Is it due to the fact that you did not go out? His blue hair, which was even hotter than Niel’s, reached his waist. He was sitting across the bed, but he seemed to be about the same height as me.

“—What’s the matter?”

I looked at him calmly, expecting to hear the same words, ‘Get out!’ or ‘Who are you?’

Then, if you want to be alone, I’ll leave you alone, say the same thing, and then disappear. And I was about to tell the maids not to bother him because he wants to be alone. When Heim looked at me, I was thinking of a line that would end the adolescent phase.

“Sister.” (t/n : he call her Nuna, 누나 (elder sister for a man)

‘Uh, that’s a line I never thought of.’

“Nice to meet you,” the child said with a smile. Heim had thrown small furniture all over the place, making the room a total mess.

In the middle of the mess room, the very pretty boy sat like a picture, smiling his eyes and said.

“Is Sister’s body going to break down too?”

‘What the hell is this? What’s the matter with all the Marquis’ sons?’

“What exactly do you mean?” Unknowingly, I took a step back and inquired.

Where did I think the middle school syndrome would go? He’s like a kid—

“Both my and Sister’s bodies are also getting worse.” Heim spoke as if in a dream.

‘Who the hell is this person? What kind of character is he?’

“Someday, I’m going to harden my body like my father, and my sister… I’m not sure. I can’t see it.”

“What exactly do you see?”

“You’re stupid. I’m not able to see you.”

My steps were not easily broken. Heim tilted his head and stared at me. “Sister, you’re aware of this, aren’t you? What kind of conditions do you have? But you’re still very calm.”

“……”

“How do you do that?” He appeared to be genuinely interested. I was more embarrassed in front of him than in front of anyone else. First, he seems to be too young on the outside, and the strange sense of alienation continues to be unsettling.

I responded calmly and without any tension.

“It’s because I can’t solve anything by causing a fuss like you.”

“Uhm…”

“If there’s a way, you do your best, and if not, you can’t help it.”

“Sister, you’re very brave.”

I’ve never heard anyone compliment me on my bravery. This was due to the fact that I was not the type to create conflict, even though I was confronted when necessary. I’d never seen a monster before, despite the fact that I was in the monster subjugation site. It’s because I didn’t make an effort to catch the monster.

So I shut my mouth for a moment at Heim’s words.

“It’s painful to see more than others.”

‘Is it something like that? Like a shaman in this world?’

There was magic, and of course there could be a shaman.

“However, I enjoy seeing my sister.”

‘Where the hell did that part go?’

With confused eyes, I looked at Heim.

“You’re a thousand times better than my trash brother.”

It was back then. The door swung open unexpectedly.

“Elsia, why are you coming into his room? Don’t pay attention to this weak guy.” As soon as he mentioned him, Niel came running to me. Niel leaned against the wall, arms folded, and stared at his brother.

“How long are you going to live like this? Why don’t you get a hold of yourself now that we have a new family?

“Oh, our trashy brother.”

Heim mumbled, his eyes dropping.

Niel retorted, as if taken aback. “Hey, I’m aware that I’m a jerk. Do you think the trash you’re hearing isn’t offensive?”

“Brother.” Heim took his time getting up.

‘Oh, he’s scary.’

I took a step back and stood next to Niel.

“Brother, you’re going to pay for all that trash act.”

“You, don’t talk nonsense like that again.”

Niel crumpled his face as if he wasn’t going to listen. “Elsia, let’s go. He has a habit of talking nonsense. I’ll be deeply hurt if the family is ruined and if you end up like my father. He’s weak, and it’s a curse to anyone who sees him.”

“But—”

Niel grabbed my hand and dragged it behind him. I walked out of Heim’s room pretending not to win, but I could still hear Heim’s voice.

“Sister, let’s go down together.”

‘And when am I close enough to go down with you?’

“I like my sister.”

“…Is that so? thank you very much.”

“I can’t see your future very well. It’s good to finally have something I want to see in person.”

I was dumbfounded by the thought of whether he really saw the future or what was there.

Niel threw tantrums as soon as he came out of the door and shut it, leading me with a confused look on my face. “Don’t let what he says sway you.”

“However, he discovered something strange about my body.”

“He’s a man who says all kinds of bad things, some of which are perfectly fine.”

“Still—”

“He used to yell every day until a few months ago that his family would be destroyed around the fall. But it’s winter soon, and my family is fine.”

Niel shook his head, as if there was nothing else to say. I couldn’t stand in the way of the brother, who would have stayed with him for much longer.

I was forced to remain silent on the issue.

******

“Prince.” Aiden was on his way down the stairs to the invited dinner when he noticed Ixion wandering on the third floor stairs. “Are you going to the dining room?”

“—Right.”

“Oh, come together with me. I’ll take you there.”

Aiden tried to walk down with him, and looked at him in wonder as Ixion stopped.

“By any chance, is there a problem?”

“It’s nothing.”

He avoided looking at the stair railing.

“The railing here is a little loose.”

“Really? It’s difficult to stay in shape because it’s not an Imperial Palace. It’s a little old, but it’s great.” Aiden spoke casually and started to come down the stairs again, but looked at him as if he had no intention of moving.

“I think the picture here is also pretty good.”

“What? It’s just a painting?”

“That’s a very good way to express the apple.”

“Prince, it’s a peach. Apples don’t have hair.”

For the first time, he noticed Ixion’s interest in painting. Despite the fact that the Imperial Palace housed many famous paintings, Ixion never stopped in front of one.

After love, the only thing he wasn’t interested in was art.

Aiden tried to question Ixion about why he kept dragging his feet without going to the dining room, but he came up with something thunder and opened his mouth.

‘Lady Elsia’s room—the third floor!’

He smiled as he looked to the side of Ixion, who was now examining the patterns on the wallpaper.

‘No way, are you waiting for her to go down to the dining room together?’

In fact, Aiden had already met Mela in private before dinner.

Aiden wanted to say, ‘Your jerk son is flirting with Lady Elsia. So the Young Lady is in conflict with the Prince and your son.’ But he couldn’t say anything to Mela. Despite the fact that everyone in the mansion was wary of Niel, it was the same heart that Mela couldn’t bring himself to tell.

“Isn’t it because she turned down the marriage proposal because she wasn’t greedy?” Mela inquired, her face serious. Aiden responded, trying to avoid bringing up Niel as much as possible.

“Yes. Well, it seemed like she was a little confused about her feelings for the Prince.”

“Oh, my.”

“She may want to meet other men, which is fine. Because she has become so stunningly beautiful, the admiration she once had may have faded.”

“How come she went to the monster subjugation site then?” Mela shook her head, a worried expression on her face.

“Of course, I assumed she’d see the Prince right away because he spoke well at the banquet.”

“Uh— Perhaps she doesn’t know how she feels?”

“I didn’t expect her to—”

Elsia, whom Mela only met briefly, was a straightforward character. Something was off. Elsia, no one else, couldn’t have dragged on like this after refusing the marriage proposal.

“What about Prince? Do you mind if I ask you a question?”

Mela was more concerned about Ixion after seeing that determined expression on the battlefield. Aiden had a troubled expression on his face.

“I don’t believe he’ll give up.”

“Oh my goodness, does he like Elsia?”

“I’m not sure. He’s claiming that he’s better than going to another man. It’s not wrong, it’s definitely wrong.”

“It’s a total disaster.”

Mela let out a sigh. “In conclusion, they both don’t know what they’re feeling, do they?”

“That’s correct. Furthermore, the Prince is at a disadvantage in many ways because he has no concept of ‘love’ in dating. They spend less time together.”

Aiden was having difficulty swallowing Niel’s name, which kept popping up. Mela smiled and smacked her knee, not realizing what was going on.

“There’s someone who’s really good at that right now, right?”

“…What?”

“I mean Niel. Oh, my God, that crazy son can be used like this.”

“W-wait— What do you mean, Niel the Wizard?”

Aiden stuttered as Mela spoke so innocently.

“After seeing that child crawl into the monster subjugation site, it seems that some of his favorite women are in the Knights.”

“We— We are not so close as to have such a conversation with the Wizard Niel.”

“Don’t worry.” Mela fixed her gaze on Aiden, as if she had discovered the answer. “I’ll take care of it after dinner. You can rely on me. But isn’t there something called “years of experience”?”

Aiden has never been so untrustworthy with Mela.
