Without further ado, Noah seized the chance while traces of trouble flashed on Kyle’s face. “Well, I’ll only spend two days. Okay?” She hastily lifted Muell lest he would protest again and hurled the child out of the cliff with all her might. Muell, who leaped into the air using her hands as a springboard, instantly warped his body into its original form. A humongous black dragon fluttered its wings as it orbited the cliff and strong gusts of wind disheveled their hair.

Kyle frowned, “If you’re going to behave like this, why did you ask for permission in the first place?”

“Actually, I was only informing you. I’m sorry.” Noah smiled sheepishly.

“Why would you apologize? Anyway…” It seemed Kyle had decided it was meaningless to continue dissuading her. His gaze followed after the dragon, who flapped its wide wings and waved its long tail. “Alright.”

Eventually, it was Kyle who heaved a sigh of surrender this time, as he always did when Noah, along with Muell, stared at him with glittering eyes.

“I don’t know why I can’t trust you two. I know I don’t have to worry, but… I feel like I’m putting two babies on the water alone.”

“I’m not included in those two babies, am I? I’ve lived for 27 years,” Noah retorted.

“Even a six-year-old wouldn’t be as reckless as Miss Noah,” Kyle replied sharply and rolled his sleeves upwards to check his watch. “How long do you think it’ll take? For me, a day and a half. It only takes that long. I can’t give more than that time to Miss Noah. If you don’t think you can do it, give up quickly and come back. Do you understand?”

“Yes. You hear that, Mu? We have to be super fast.”

“First of all, be careful. Second, be careful. Thirdly, be careful…” Kyle’s persistent nagging kept ringing in Noah’s ears like a broken record, and for more than twenty times, he could only sigh because her attention was already fixated on something else. “I hope I’m not in charge of the Park Noah mystery case. I mean it.”

“The police sometimes say things that are too creepy.” Noah retaliated as she climbed onto the dragon’s body. Muell seemed to have grown larger than the first time he transformed into his original body; Noah could hide her entire body between the head and shoulders of the dragon.

“Be careful, be careful.” Kyle repeatedly voiced. Nervousness was blatant on his face as he watched Noah settle down on the dragon’s body.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be back.” Noah waved her hand at Kyle. Immediately, Muell spread his broad black wings and pierced through the skies, the flitter of the dragon’s sable wings echoing throughout the tranquil valley.

The cliff they had been a moment ago, where Kyle stood, appeared distant before Noah could even blink. Soon after, endless mountain ranges fringed by the land. The dragon ascended from the ground at a terrifying speed, but Noah felt no resistance press onto her skin. Only her hair and the hem of her dress swayed about.  Noah clutched her quivering chest, lifting her chin. It’s going up…

The twinkling night sky that housed millions of worlds was gradually nearing, almost devouring the black dragon. The golden lights radiated by several fairies that encircled the dragon’s body was the only indication of the beastly creature’s presence. But even its colossal figure was overshadowed by the starlight.

As Muell circled in the sky, the mana net cast over the heavens became closer and closer.

The magic enchanted over the entire cradle of dragons in Maobiana, was an entrance to more than millions of paths diverging into different worlds.

At one point, the feeling of her body passing through something was evident. It felt as if she had crossed a delicate, moist, and transparent jelly. When Noah closed her eyes reflexively and then opened them again, the land and its  boundless mountain ranges were nowhere to be found.

A bewildered exclamation escaped Noah’s lips. “How, where is it…?”

Then, Muell decreased his speed and soon landed in one place. The floating sensation that staggered Noah vanished in an instant. She opened her mouth, her hand gently pressing her pounding chest. “Is this the entrance?”

[Yes.]

One of the fairies responded and landed on her lap. Noah carefully lifted the winged-creature, making use of its light. Beneath her feet, there was no ground. Only darkness surrounded her amidst the glittering passages. Skeptical, Noah asked as she clung tightly on Muell’s scales. “Won’t we fall? Looks like there’s no support.”

“No!”

No? He’s back in his original body and he’s talking? Noah raised her head, bewildered, and the body of the dragon she had been holding on to suddenly disappeared. For less than a second, she floated in the void space and then plummeted.

“Mommy…” You child, you’ve only learned strange things from Kyle!

She massaged her aching bottom as she stumbled across the ground. Fortunately, the floor she stood on was concrete, dissolving her worries on falling again. Only then could she relax and glimpse at her surroundings properly.

Wouldn’t it feel this way if you were actually floating in space?

Noah straightened her body and carefully took a step in the vast, bleak space. The part her foot stepped on trembled lightly and immediately hardened. Meanwhile, the young child was loafing about everywhere with great enthusiasm. Noah furthered her steps, approaching the nearest light source. At a distance, there was a white twinkling sphere large enough for Noah to hold. Then, the fairies trailed after her.
