After they reached the Central Part, the scene they saw stupefied them.
Small huts and bonfires extended as far as their eyes could see.
"Goblins." snorted Huang Lu with a look of disdain on his face
Based on his strength, killing goblins was as easy as cutting grass! Just by looking around, they could see thousands of these green heads as they danced around the bonfire with different types of beasts on the grill as they stood beside it, drool leaking out of their mouths.
"Isn't this too easy?" asked old man Zhang as he heaved a breath of relief after seeing that
They might outnumber them by hundreds of times, but at the end of the day, they were just goblins.With Huang Lu's strength, if he dashed into the goblin mob one slash would be able to kill at least 5 goblins at a time!
"Not necessarily." said Wang Tao, looking at the Goblins with suspicion
He could notice that the majority of these goblins were wielding bludgeons, but in every group, there was a Goblin wielding a staff-like weapon. His eyes quickly locked on one such goblin, before the goblin's information quickly flowed inside his mind.
"Goblin Conjurer level 7 (Elite) – Summoner of the Goblin Race."
Looking around, his eyes quickly fell into another such goblins at other bonfires.
"Goblin Magician level 9 (Elite) – Magician of the Goblin Race."
"Goblin Swordsman level 6 (Elite) – Swordsman of the Goblin Race."
"Goblin....."
"I'm sorry to disappoint you guys, but this might not be so easy as it seems." spoke Wang Tao with a wry smile on his face
The others looked at him, waiting for him to continue. Weren't they just goblins? What's the problem? Thought the others as they scruntized their gazes at the bonfires before they noticed that some of the goblins were different. As soon as they got the information from the system, their face turned white as a sheet of paper.
"Damnable midgets, they even have magicians in their ranks! Even if we kill all the other Goblins, how are we supposed to deal with the Goblin Magicians? There are over 50 of them! We don't even know what spells they can use, if we rush in, we might just end up bombarded with spells before we even get a chance to fight them!" spoke one of the subordinates under Huang Lu, his voice trembling slightly.
The man himself was level 8 and he has even learned two spells, Earth Spike and Wind Shield before. This was supposed to be his trump cards in the future battles, but who would have known that these midgets actually had so many magicians!
Even fighting ten of these goblins wouldn't pose a big problem for him as long as he wasn't surrounded by them. But now, with the appearance of these Elite Goblins, which were ten times more powerful than normal Goblins and even wielded spells, he was at a loss of what to do!
"Let's go regroup with the others first. We need to see if these goblins are the strongest monsters in the city so we won't encounter other beasts once we start fighting against them. We will decide after that." spoke Huang Lu before he slowly retreated the way back, trying to be as silent as possible not to attract the goblin's attention
The others silently followed him from behind, the mood being heavy. They knew that exterminating all the monsters in the city won't be easy, but they never expected the difficulty to be so high! Only a few days passed since the world changed but these damned midgets numbers have multiplied hundreds of times, already forming the population of people in a small village!
Walking through the streets, they followed the sounds of fighting and screams of both monsters and humans as they moved faster.
Getting closer, they could see three people fighting against a huge spider. The three were in a disadvantageous position as they fought, slashing at the spider's legs that kept pouncing on them like snakes; trying to pierce them.
Around the spider, seven lifeless could be seen with a big hole in their bodies.
"Giant Spider, level 8. Common Spider."
arghh!!!
Screamed a man as the rusty rod in his hand broke in two after he deflected a spider leg, before another one landed on his body sending him flying!
Just as he was falling, a spider leg at a fast speed just like a lance was rushing at him full of desire to impale his body in the air!
The man watched horrifiedly as the leg was coming closer and closer before he closed his eyes.
The man soon opened his eyes with a weird look on his face as the anticipated pain did not come. It was at that moment that he heard a creepy wail coming from the Giant Spider as it's legs were being chopped down one after the other, before an Earth Spike and a Fireball landed on it's head, exploding it to smithereens.
The Giant Spider soon fell lifelessly on the floor as a metallic case could be seen beside it's body.
"Leader!!" the three men cried softly as they looked at the man who saved them
"We were too late, i'm sorry!" spoke Huang Lu with a saddened face as he pointed at the lifeless corpses of the men on the floor
"It's not your fault leader, but we did not expect to meet such a strong beast right after leaving. Our group consisted of ten level 3 and 4s but we couldn't do anything! We are too useless!" spoke the man as he sobbed
The others felt their hearts clench in pain as he looked at the scene. This is war. A war between humanity and monsters, were life was worth nothing.
If you are weak, you're gonna die! Nothing else!
Throwing the metallic case a glance, Huang Lu pointed to one of his subordinates to go and open it. Inside, two books could be seen. The books were not unfamiliar to Wang Tao and the others. One was Fireball and the other Earth Spike. The man threw the books to the other two survivors.
The books were useless for them and increasing the power of the others as soon as possible was necessary as they thought about the thousands of goblins that were still at the Central Part of the town.
"Thank you! Thank you sir!" quickly thanked the two man with big smiles on their faces as they quickly learned the books afraid that the man will change his mind. Only after they learned the books did they heave a breath of relief, a satisfied look on their faces.
"Let's go now, we have to gather everyone, we need to talk." Huang Lu's voice could be heard, before he moved forward with the man he saved shoulder to shoulder as they talked
"How's the situation to the other groups?" asked Huang Lu
"It's not looking too good. We met such a Giant Spider right after we departed, i'm afraid the others might have met situations similar to ours." said the man with respectfully, his voice trembling slightly as he was still afraid after what happened earlier
"How about your side sir? Anything happened?" asked the man as they moved forward
"Goblins."
"Goblins???" what could have happened thought the man.
Weren't goblins the weakest monsters? To be honest, he himself would have been happy meeting goblins instead of the Giant Spider. At least the danger would be lower and they might even level up after killing a few of them!
"Yes, goblins. Thousands of them." answered Huang Lu
Hearing Huang Lu's words, the three men stopped in their tracks as they looked stupefied at Huang Lu's back. Thousands? Thousands!!?!?
"You will know more later when we regroup with the others. Let's go, we can't waste time here."

An indecipherable look appeared on Huang Lu's face as he continued running, lost in thoughts.
'We might have to make a big sacrifice this time...' mumbled Huang Lu to himself
