A man slowly shut his eyes as his breathing ceased. Minutes later, his eyes opened. Wide.

A pained expression was reflected on his face as sudden yet foreign memories surged through his mind.

Every minute felt like an eternity, as a glint flashed past the man's eyes.

...

Nile was in his second semester in his first year as a college student. He boarded a room, one block across the University.

There was heavy traffic. Roads were filled with luxury cars, trucks, bikes, and many other kinds of vehicles. Continuous honking from vehicles overlapped one another, adding on to the already bustling streets. The malfunctioned traffic light didn't do any help either. Many were jaywalking across streets, causing the traffic to become even heavier.

Unlike other students who often hung out after class, Nile goes home immediately. He maximizes his jaywalking skills, trying his very best to cross the road that was swamped with all kinds of vehicles. A little more and he will reach the other side of the street. Sadly, life's such an unpredictable bitch, and accidents do happen. Nile suddenly steps on one of his shoelaces, causing him to stumble right in front of the bumper of this slow-moving six-wheeled dump truck.

Due to the elevated driver seat, the driver didn't see anyone in front of his truck, and thus, his truck continued dragging slowly through this heavy traffic. As the enormous truck came into contact with poor Nile's body, a mere 'plop' could be heard and soon after, the blaring of car horns soon override the neglectable sound. The truck merely raised a little. The driver shrugged his shoulder, 'Maybe just a little bump on the road'.

...

Opening his eyes, Nile finds himself in a dimly lit room, the slight illumination of the sun from the outside was what kept the place slightly recognizable.

And then, sudden and foreign memories suddenly jolted into his mind, causing throbbing pain in his head. Every second felt like an eternity of suffering for Nile, as he soon realizes that he was no longer on his world. Instead, in another, that is experiencing a Zombie Apocalypse.

Nile was just about to inspect himself, but a sudden ache in his stomach, and feelings of hunger suddenly flooded his mind.

Based on the memories he got, this body, that 'coincidentally' has the same name as him, 'Nile' has been starving for months. The only thing that has been keeping him alive was water, but it so happens that he had already finished his water rations, causing his body and mind to collapse 4 days after his water ration ran out.

Searching through the former 'Nile's' memory, he soon realized that there was a small grocery store three houses away from where he was then. However, the former 'Nile' chose not to venture out but instead, left himself to starve due to his cowardly nature.

Perhaps it was due to the effects of his transmigration, Nile finds his body devoid of energy Minutes later, he staggers up and weakly lifts the curtain covering the window. Sudden sunlight pierces his eyes. Nile instinctively closes them for a few seconds, before opening them again after he feels ready to handle the sudden bout of sunlight.

Glancing outside, across the street, he can see the so-called zombies walking limply. But because of the distance, he can't see them clearly. All that met his eyes were limping zombies who clearly had more energy than the current him.

He took a glance to the other side, and there, he saw the small grocery store three houses away. The front door of the grocery store is left ajar, but wide enough for a person to fit in.

A glint could be seen in Nile's eyes as he determined himself to go there and fetch some food. But he knew for a fact that he couldn't go there recklessly.

After counting, he concluded that there are six zombies limply walking across the street, with some other bodies scattered around, some still twitching. Seeing this, Nile had the urge to vomit, but sadly, there's nothing to vomit out.

Those on the floor must be the zombies that had been crippled or killed by the survivors during the apocalypse that have started two months ago. He could only assume so due to the cowardice of the former 'Nile'. He didn't even dare to glance outside after watching the news broadcast and hearing the commotion outside two months ago.

Fortunately, before the apocalypse started, the former 'Nile' bought some grocery that enabled him to last for a month, and another month because of the water, or he would have been long dead by then.

Nile could only endure the hunger that he felt while inspecting the room. The room is sizable; enough to fit fifteen people lying down. It has its own bathroom, refrigerator, a little space for the kitchen wares, a single space bed, a small table, a flat-screen T.V., and more. In Nile's opinion, he can now even consider this as a small house.
