Tayte’s fighting was barely depicted in the original novel.
That was why many readers thought she was a non-combatant, myself included.
Or rather, Reina and Miss Teixeira were at Raul’s party in the original novel, so Tayte never had to go out of her way to attack. The fierce battle between Tayte and Kleine surprised not only the surrounding students but also the knights who had come to spectate the exam.
