[To Salencia Kingdom]

On the day we departed for Salencia Kingdom for short-term study aboard at Randolph Academy, the weather was great.

The gentle summer breeze felt nice.

The air here was dry and comfortable, sparing us from the discomfort of excessive sweating. It truly felt like a wonderful country to be in.

For our journey, we traveled in horse-drawn carriages. Since Salencia was a neighboring country, the distance wasn’t too great, and the location was close to the coast where we had worked part-time before the summer break last year.

Incidentally, it turned out that the procedure to travel abroad was quite troublesome, particularly for Raul and Eureka.

The rest of us had known them for a long time, so we were familiar with their characters and personalities.

However, I had secretly heard from the principal that there were some people at Randolph Academy who expressed reluctance to grant them admission what with their unclear background.

They had been particularly harsh on Raul.

I had no idea how they did it, but it seemed that they knew about Raul Demon Sword berserk incident.

But that was something from a year ago.

Raul had come a long way since then. With Sir Klaus’ special training, he had gained complete control over the Demon Sword and had become an intergral part of our group.

That was why we had to support him closely.

“I-I’m kind of nervous.” Tayte, sitting across from me on the carriage, had a smile on her face, but she couldn’t hide her nervousness.

Well, as exchange students, we would be living in a completely foreign land… it was no wonder she’d be nervous.

“It’s okay, Tayte. It’s just a matter of getting used to it. After a while, you’ll surely feel at home.”

“I-I see… you’re amazing, Barrett.”

“Huh?”

“Like me, it’s your first time to leave your home country, but you’re very calm.”

“Y-you think so?”

It was largely thanks to the memories of my previous life, though.

In that past life, I had been used to living alone in a foreign land.

After a while, we reached a checkpoint.

We were told that the procedure for entry to the country would be done here and that we would have to wait for a while.

We had been in the carriage for over two hours, so we decided to go outside and get some fresh air. It turned that everyone else in the other carriages had the same idea, and we all gathered outside.

The checkpoint’s location on a small hill provided us with a splendid view of Salencia’s prided ocean.

“Wow!” Tayte exclaimed in awe, excited, and so were the rest of us.

But… it wasn’t that far from the place where we had subjugated the Kraken in our part-time job last year, so how could the view be so different? It was drastically more breathtaking.

“Barrett, look over there.”

As I gazed at the beautiful scenery, Jarvis pointed to a certain place.

What was there was…

“Is that… a school?”

From the design and architecture of the buildings, it was most likely so.

It had to be Randolph Academy, our short-term study-abroad destination.

It occupied smaller land compared to Astor Academy, which had a whole territory entirely dedicated to it, but… the school buildings were undeniably splendid.

I wondered what awaited us there—as we were filled with a mixture of anxiety and anticipation, we were called by Miss Teixeira and returned to the carriage.
